Did Turn Out To Be A Better Friday
Apr. 22nd, 2022 11:40 pmOr, at least, a mostly less stressful one --
Work – Quiet day, for the most part. I can confirm my coworkers have also tested negative, though we’re all planning to test again over the weekend to be sure. *nods* Most of my day was doing either the GL or wading my way through a bunch of exceptions that have come back from the processors – notes and stuff like that. Made a decent dent in it too. Couple of phone calls (two almost in a row about dead relatives still getting mail), and that was about it. Fine by me.
Beanbags – Yup – nice enough to play today, so play we did! Though none of us were throwing our best – Dad started TWO games with a zero. Though, to be fair, my parents have been sanding and repainting our door trims – I don’t know what MY excuse was for throwing constant ones. XD Though I got it together in the final game with a ten to win – final scores were 2-2-W, Dad W-W-2, Mom 3-3-3. Oof – well, tomorrow’s supposed to be nice too, she can catch up then!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another day on the bike, but – as I’m between Oxventure Streams at the minute – decided to instead watch a couple of Sims videos! Both based around modding, but from different angles:
A) Simmer Erin came in to warn us about the horrors of the SimsDom CC website – basically, it’s a horrible site that steals CC from creators, hide the links to download the items behind various kinds of paywalls (either making you watch a possibly virus-laden ad or pay to avoid a timer), may have malware on it, and is generally incredibly rude to anyone who tries to get their shit OFF the site. One person apparently had to progress to the point of threatening a DMCA takedown before they deleted it. In short, if you’re looking for CC, it is a site to avoid at all costs.
B) And then I dropped by a video by “Ayeron” (a rare male YouTube Simmer!) with more suggestions about mods for adding gameplay. And for prettying up the game, if you’re into that – he started with some loading screen replacer selections. :p But there was some good stuff in there – a look at thepancake1 and MizoreYukii’s extra trait slots in CAS and the Bed Cuddle (which is ADORABLE? Why do I not already have this in my game), the 100 extra traits by VickySims, the “Playable Pets” mod, LilMissSam’s SimDa Dating App, Kids Can Walk Dogs, and Ultrasound Appointment mods, stuff like that. Whole freaking world of mods out there for your game to make it more fun, that’s for sure! Now if only I didn’t have to worry so much about updating them with every patch. . .
2. Keep editing Chapter 6 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale of Tears”: Check – Alice has made it across the spookily-thin beams of the ceiling, over Marcus and his crew, and successfully distracted her way into the office, grabbing herself a nice shotgun before arming the Astrolite. Now she just has to get out before the whole place goes boom. . . Page 14 of 21, folks! In the home stretch for this weekend!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Easy today – simple two-in, two-out. Plus a bit of a bonus (and a rewatch of the old Smiler Shop TV video, because hell, why not) –
A) First up, Call Me Kevin and “Irish Tik Toks are the funniest thing” – which is basically what it says on the tin. Kevin finding a bunch of Irish-themed Tik Toks and reacting to them. Like someone doing a very good turn in a tractor with a big trailer, or an old man complaining about St. Patrick’s Day and all the Americans out and about, or people “tapdancing” in the middle of the road on special little stages (everyone was like “wtf Kevin, you’re calling Irish dancing TAPDANCING?”). Or those day-night glow-ups – Kevin’s version was just turning the light out and sitting in the dark. XD Short, silly, but very fun. XD
B) And then we had GrayStillPlays and “I had 0.5 seconds to become a criminal” – aka, Gray Plays Sneak Thief 3D! Another silly mobile game, where you play as a thief making heists from places like museums and science labs, avoiding the attentions of the guards and security cameras along the way. Or, if you’re like Gray, “murdering” as many guards as you can because the game lets you unlock a variety of fun weapons to do just that! It also lets you level three key stats, but Gray refused to put anything into sneaking around and instead just went with speed speed speed. He soon became the Flash of thieves, zipping through all the laser traps and pummeling his enemies with his baseball bat, his stun gun, his rubber chicken, his vase, his own karate chop action, his Minecraft hammer, and his tiny tiny shark. XD All for things like jeweled avocados, golden toilet paper, and The World’s Last Floppy Disk. Again, short, silly, but very fun. XD
C) And not a full video, but a few clips of one – Theme Park Worldwide covering the merch in Alton Towers for 2022, and of course I watched all the bits showing The Smiler’s stuff – mostly new shirts and hoodies, it seems, though there’s also some mugs, “ride resins” (a little molded bit of the track), and “liquid timers” (don’t ask me, I’m not sure). Once again, living my theme park dreams vicariously.
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – though it took a bit, as obviously I’m good with Victor Luvs Alice, and I had no asks or anything on Valice Multiverse. Found something from FO4 to reblog (some moody environment screenshots) in the end on the latter, so I’m good for now!
Not too shabby at all, I feel. :) And now let's set up the Saturday to-dos while I'm here and feeling better about life:
1. Clean my room and do the monthly laundry
2. Keep up with YouTube Subs
3. Play Sims 4 and do Spooky Day with Smiler Always
4. Keep editing Chapter 6 of “Londerland Bloodlines: Santa Monica’s Vale of Tears”
Yeah, I think that works for a cleaning Saturday -- especially Big Monthly Laundry Saturday. I shall inform you how it all goes! Night all!
