crossover_chick: Doc in goggles and holding a big old plug with the words "feeling sparky..." (BTTF: feeling sparky/creative)
But at least this time, I'm feeling more on top of things:

1. Keep up on the FO4 Playthrough Progression: Check – wrote that up right after finishing my session today (below) and my afternoon cookies. Pretty much the same as my session, with the key difference (other than the standard “Alice is present for these shenanigans”) of Nick not being present for the firefight with the raiders at Shenley’s Oyster Bar (as in a more real-life-type scenario, he would have DEFINITELY gotten past them in the eight hours Victor, Piper, and Alice slept). But other than that, we still had Victor getting a nice new sniper rifle from the oyster bar raiders; the gang clearing out the raiders in Hangman’s Alley; and the gang making their way to Oberland after fighting super mutants and wolves, and building a new fence and rearranging the outhouse. Good times!

2. Catch up with YouTube Subs, Jon's next FO4: Legendary Roulette video: Fucking CHECK, everyone! I mean, only by the grace of a) this being a “GrayStillPlays only” day in my Subs and b) the intense heat and humidity leading to me to skip my workout and the whole family to skip playing beanbags, giving me more time to catch up, but SUBS ARE CONQUERED! I even had time for some bonus videos, as you shall see –

A) First up before supper, the latest from one James Turner: “I stayed up for 5 days with this Sims 4 Update!” Yes, apparently the latest patch/SDX drop snuck in a new limited-time scenario that James wanted to try out with his Standard Scenario Semaj – “Explore the Night,” which involves your Sim staying up for five nights in a row, drinking coffee and sleep replacement potions, working three night shifts in a career, ordering drinks at a bar at night, getting the “Night Owl” skill-boosting trait, and befriending a ghost and inviting them to live with them! Some of these, of course, were easier than others – Semaj started out with 400 satisfaction points, so was able to get one sleep replacement to keep himself awake right off the bat; he got a job in the Criminal career right away, which provided three night shifts (and one promotion!); he bought a coffee machine and made himself a nice cup of coffee early on; and he headed over to Oasis Springs one night to hit the bar there and grab a drink (which was slightly more difficult than anticipated, as he went to grab some collectibles while waiting for said drink, during which time someone stole said drink). The others, however. . .well, let’s just say that a certain spellcaster named Tomax paid the ultimate price for letting Semaj take his picture multiple times. XD Yeah, poor Tomax got invited to live with Semaj, then trapped in the spare bedroom and burned to death with fireworks. And then, when his ghost finally showed up, Semaj took more pictures of him to convince him to rejoin the household – only for James to finally send him back to his old household in a slight panic when he remembered ghosts have needs in this game for some reason and he didn’t want to have to worry about Tomax passing out either. Fortunately none of this glitched out the scenario. XD Honestly, the hardest part of this was actually getting the “Night Owl” trait, just because James had to keep buying sleep replacement potions on the regular to keep Semaj awake, and he wasn’t sure what aspiration was the best to earn points quickly. He tried “The Collector” (hunting down frogs, metals, and tons of time capsules in Oasis springs) and “Fabulously Wealthy” (removing both bedrooms and all extraneous furniture from his house in Moonwood Mill to get more money in reserve – to be fair, this Semaj wasn’t using them anyway!) for some quick points early on, but ultimately he came back to that one thing that always serves his Scenario Semajs well – PAINTING. Alternating between the digitalistic sketchpad and the easel, he maxed out the painting aspiration and the skill, and got himself the trait and a bunch of money! And by the morning of the sixth day, he’d completed the scenario! Mostly in a bicycle helmet, because for some reason, once Semaj got a bicycle, he never took the damn helmet off. XD I guess he saw what happened to Tomax and decided “safety first.” XD

B) Then, after supper, I was actually able to sneak in a couple of videos from none other than Plumbella! Hooray, finally getting some shit out of my Watch Later! We had:

I. “every Sim hates my Werewolf and it feels personal” – the second part of Plumbella’s pre-recorded LP, featuring her very first werewolf, Remus Lupisn’t, who lives in a little shack out in the woods of Moonwood Mill (aka a personal build she made on the empty lot). It’s off the grid, but has great logic skill building and awesome soil, so – ups and downs! This episode was all about coming to grips with the gameplay and deciding where she wanted to take Lupisn’t’s life as a new werewolf in Moonwood Mill – she rapidly concluded that Lupisn’t would be happiest with the Wildfangs and set about trying to befriend Rory. This was – easier said than done, as Rory never seemed up for staying in a conversation very long, even when Lupisn’t invited her for drinks over at the bar. Though it didn’t help when Plumbella lost track of her, despite Rory basically being DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF HER IN WOLF FORM. Lupisn’t also visited the library looking for werewolf books, and suffered their very first rampage – in which it was discovered that their werewolf form was STILL FREAKING INVISIBLE. Except for the glowing eyes ands the teeth. *rolls eyes* I’m glad Plumbella was able to find it amusing, as I would have been pissed. You guys know me and my attitude toward broken packs these days! At least this bug was actually patched before official release. . . Anyway, they had a fairly quiet rampage where they smashed up just a few of their own items before vanishing after traveling to the Volkov household, and ended up naked atop the mountain with the ability to transform at will, yay. Small victories? XD However, they’d also developed a preference, nay, a craving for fresh meat – so Plumbella sent them to try and eat the Pancakes. XD Episode ended with her trying to figure out what Lupisn’t diet needed to be and where she wanted to take them next – I get the feeling this is going to be a very strange and silly LP. XD

II. “James Turner put his entire simussy into Moonwood Mill” – Plumbella takes everyone on a tour of Moonwood Mill and its lots! It’s a small world, she admits, but she likes that there’s a lot to see and do and visit without having to go through a loading screen (and she’s particularly fond of Lunvik Lake at the base of the howling spot, just because of the magical glimmer it gets under a full moon). She also really likes all the lots, as built by James Turner (formerly known as The Sim Supply) – particularly the library, she really praised the look of that one. All in all, she thinks it’s definitely one of the better worlds we’ve gotten in a game pack, and I think I must agree, just from the size of the area around the lots. Forgotten Hollow and Glimmerbrook feel rather hemmed in by comparison. . .but what can one do?

C) After that, it was time to move back to the Subs for GrayStillPlays and “When you stretch your neck into orbit” – aka, Gray plays Long Neck Run. This is what I think is a mobile game, where you control a little guy, and you have to collect rings in an obstacle course which match your current color to make your neck longer. Hitting an obstacle or grabbing rings in the wrong color reduces your neck height, though if you go into “fever mode” you can just pick up everything no problem. The goal is to get your neck higher than increasingly-high animals and landmarks. Gray, despite claiming he was no good at games requiring agility and quick thinking, actually did quite good at this, starting out getting bigger than the Sphinx of Egypt and ending with a neck taller than King Kong himself! The game had to zoom out so much he was just a line on the screen. XD It was strange but amusing, and it was nice to see him treat himself to a rather more low-key challenge after all the GTA V parkour hell he’s been doing with Alex and Danny. XD

D) And finally, of course, we had Jon of Many A True Nerd and “Fallout 4: Legendary Roulette - Part 2 - A Rush Of Blood!” We are back to the world where almost every enemy is Legendary, with The Legend of Boston and her inability to get through the tutorial dungeon to rescue Preston and company. XD Fortunately, Jon had a plan to fix this, and the plan was to find some ghouls and shoot the hell out of them with Legend’s Kneecapper 10mm so she could then wail on them with a melee weapon and hopefully get better legendaries. First stop was Bedford Station, and while this went poorly the first time (thanks to getting the attention of some Black Bloatflies, and trust me, those fuckers are not to be messed with), the second time got Jon his new best friend – a Wounding 10mm. This thing – this thing is hot, y’all. Because unlike some legendary effects (for example, Incendiary, which he also got on a 10mm in this lot), this thing stacks – and it makes ANYTHING bleed. ANYTHING. Things which do NOT have blood bleed. Their health bars go down SO fast as you shoot them and they bleed and bleed for 25 points of extra damage each time. Jon demonstrated this to great effect when he swung by Trudy’s for some extra ammo and found her and Patrick under attack from Legendary Raiders – a couple of shots, and those health bars were just TANKING. I want a Wounding weapon in my game now, damn it.

Anyway, from there it was over to Thicket Excavations to do Sully’s side quest and get a level-up from taking on some Legendary Mirelurks. Jon learned two good things there – one, that the Kneecapper is good on Mirelurks because if you take out just two of their legs, they can’t move anymore and you can fire on them at will; two, that they are not like ghouls and can still very much try to one-shot you if you get too close to those claws. Jon is very lucky to have Martyr’s gear and the slow-time effect. XD But Legend took them out, and got a Troubleshooter’s Laser Musket (possibly good for robots), and some more Lucky armor, which prompted Jon to consider – well, maybe this should be a Lucky build, she’s already got three pieces. More luck never hurts, especially in THIS version of the game!

However, first things first – Jon took a rank of Gun Nut from Legend’s level up, then ran back to Sanctuary to upgrade the Wounding 10mm to have an automatic receiver (to spray more bullets into people) and a larger magazine (to also spray more bullets into people). And with THAT sorted, it was back to the Museum of Freedom to take care of some business! Again, it took two tries (the first leading to poor Legend getting shotgunned in the face), but with the help of the Wounding (and a bit from the Kneecapper), Legend was FINALLY able to get past the final four raiders and reach Preston Garvey and company! And the Perception Bobblehead too, can’t say no to that. And then it was just a case of get the power armor on, head outside, avoid the regular raiders, and trigger the deathclaw (not Legendary – I think certain pre-determined spawns just CAN’T be Legendary) so that the raiders and the deathclaw would fight each other! This worked out – decently, though thanks to one of the raiders having their OWN Kneecapper weapon, and another molotovs, the deathclaw ended up dying before all the raiders. Not to worry, though, Legend hunted down the rest – managing to kill one raider RIGHT BEFORE they climbed into her power armor. XD Well, that’s lucky. But yes, that allowed her to lead Preston Garvey and company over to Sanctuary (though Preston outpaced his friends by a LOT somehow – fast travel shenanigans?), and pick up a pile of XP from completing “Freedom Calls” for Preston and “Sanctuary” for Sturges. Good times!

With that out of the way, Jon decided the next logical step was to head to Cambridge and help out Danse with his ghoul and synth problems! That should provide a lot of good legendary gear, right? Along the way, he stopped by the terrible radroach house and murdered all the roaches within – not too much good there, but he did pick up an Irradiated 10mm, which – as a commenter pointed out on the previous episode – is at least good in certain situations (namely, fighting human legendaries who won’t be able to regenerate their health bar past the rad damage), so worth keeping. But from there he went on to Cambridge, where he slid into his coward’s corner to help Danse take down the ghouls –

And got FUCK-ALL from them. Seriously. Not one Legendary in the lot, apparently. I don’t know if it was a glitch or if, as another commenter suggested, it was the result of Jon not helping enough with the kills and thus the game not spawning a Legendary, but yeah. Jon decided not to let it get him down and instead followed Danse to ArcJet –

Where a run-in with some mongrels along the way led to a PLASMA-INFUSED DOUBLE-BARREL SHOTGUN coming into Jon’s possession. Ooooo. . . Legend quickly ran back to Sanctuary to boost the damage on that (as she couldn’t really make it fire any faster) and try it out on the synths in ArcJet!

. . .Decent, but not as good as Jon had hoped. The extra damage was nice, but it simply didn’t kill them as quickly as good old Wounding. And yes, synths bleed despite not having blood. TURRETS bleed despite not having blood. This game just decides, if you’ve been hit with a Wounding effect, you bleed. XD So Jon relied on the good old Wounding 10mm until the penultimate room, where he left Danse to fight against the never-ending waves of synths for a while before firing the engine to build up a good pile of corpses. Sadly, this did not yield a lot in the way of good Legendaries – a couple of nice pieces of armor, like Sprinter’s and Powered – but no good guns. Jon decided this was karma for leaving Danse to get shot to pieces for a while and followed his new buddy to the next room –

Where one of the last three synths had a WOUNDING DOUBLE-BARREL SHOTGUN.

Say hello to Jon’s newest best friend. XD He took it down to the college square to test it on some of the ghouls there, and it just – it DESTROYS them. They go down SO fast because every bit of pellet shot has the effect. Their health bars are just DECIMATED. It’s amazing and I SO want Victor to get a Wounding weapon now. Hopefully I’ll get lucky the next time he runs into a Legendary. XD In the meantime, Jon’s already talking about using this thing on the gangsters in Vault 114, and then going straight on to Kellogg. . .I don’t know how far this miniseries is gonna go, but if Jon wants to do a sort of speed-run of the game in this mode, that is fine by me! :D

3.Play Fallout 4 and start touring the settlements: Check! Started with Victor and Piper just outside the secret sewer entrance into Vault 114 – I had Victor check his Pip-Boy map, and determined that the easiest first settlement to get to would be Oberland Station – convenient, as that IS where the UFO they recently saw crashed. :P Victor oriented himself, and he and Piper snuck down a side alley marked by a creepy mannequin for some reason –

To see Nick. Waiting at the corner for some reason. I assumed that he’s programmed that way to encourage the player to follow him immediately back to Diamond City. I was willing to just let him go on his way, maybe walk with him for a while –

When he pulled out his gun.

Yeah, turns out there was a raider camp set up in Shenley’s Oyster Bar nearby! And Nick had pissed them off just by existing. Well, naturally Victor and Piper had to assist Nick in killing the raiders, especially since there was a Legendary among them. Victor and Piper shot the ones they could see through the windows of the place, then Nick carried on while Victor and Piper looped back to find the actual entrance to the camp (and the oyster bar itself) and finished off the raiders. Took some doing (and some very long black loading screens), but they managed to locate and kill them all. Got some nice goodies from it too – including a Marksman Hardener Sniper Rifle, already with most of the upgrades I wanted to eventually add to my pipe one! :D Victor immediately claimed it and used his portable workbench to upgrade it (after getting some of the necessary components off Piper) up to a Calibrated Powerful Receiver for max damage. :D Also took the opportunity to add some deep pockets to his chest piece and his right arm, while he was at it. More carry capacity, MORE CARRY CAPACITY. (Oh, and the Legendary item? Exterminator’s Leather Chest Piece. Okay, but nothing to write home about.)

Once that was all done and they were back down at street level, Victor and Piper continued picking their way through the streets of Boston, finding a dead pack brahmin and a pack of dogs (possibly the ones that killed it), before looping their way back around to Diamond City itself. I then turned in the direction of Oberland Station – but then, along the way, realized, “Hey, wait a minute – this door with a hanging person beside it. This is one of the doors into Hangman’s Alley, isn’t it? I’ve already found the place – I should probably clear it out.”

And so Victor and Piper did! Took a bit of doing, especially some of the raiders had nasty rapid-shot weapons, and I got distracted near the end by trying to find a Legendary raider I knew was nearby (proved to be in the flooded tunnel BEHIND the settlement – and didn’t even have anything on him, the jerk!), but it was done, and the workshop claimed! Didn’t actually build anything there – instead, Victor just cooked up a bunch of stuff to try and reduce the amount of crap he was carrying, then went ahead and made that one mod-added apple pie I have that temporarily adds +100 to carry weight so he could carry on with all of his crap. XD He and Piper continued on, going back through that neighborhood Victor and Preston passed through on the way in where the robots had murdered some scavengers – this time, the ROBOTS were very much dead, victims of some super mutants and their dogs who were now fighting some ghouls. Victor and Piper took out the dogs and one of the super mutants, then continued on through, past the little vegetable stand Victor raided before and up over the hill –

Where they were set upon by a pack of wolves! O.O And let me tell you, wolves don’t fuck around! Though I guess they wouldn’t, given they’re from Far Harbor and only in the Commonwealth thanks to mods. . .it took some doing and a stimpack, but Victor and Piper were able to kill the wolves and FINALLY make it to Oberland. Victor decided to build the sisters living there a new fence – which resulted in him using some resources from his port-a-potty, the game dropping it on the ground, and me having to play “kick the can” with it for ages to get it to stand upright so I could pick it up again. >.< REALLY wish the damn thing could be picked up even if it was laying on its side. . .

Anyway, around this time Victor got damn near too tired to function, so it was time for an afternoon snooze. Bed at 1 PM on 12/1/2287, then up again at 9 PM, where he rearranged some of the tato plants that were too close to the fence, and moved around the outhouse and shower stations so they were more easily accessible in the corner. Also dropped off some junk and weapons he no longer needed (notably the old pipe sniper rifle) to finally get him not-overencumbered again, as his apple pie had worn off by this point. XD Next time – investigate the alien wreckage! Then go around and help out all the settlements who need stuff repaired and whatnot. Should be fun!

4. Work on tumblr drafts (specifically the Chill Save Update): Check! Did the by-now-usual massive Sunday Morning Victor Luvs Alice Tumblr Catch-Up (reblogging something that I’d missed in my tags – that eldritch horror Valice AU I was starting to worry had been abandoned is apparently still ticking along in the background for the author!), then spent some time after lunch getting the text for the Chill Save Update sorted! This one is Smiler getting the Water Conservation NAP repealed and hosting a very successful house party, by the by. Good to have that ready for Wednesday – even if it does mean I now only have one more update as a “buffer” before I hit the fact that I haven’t played Sims 4 at all in a couple of weeks. Fortunately, I do plan to buy Werewolves over the long 4th of July weekend and hopefully see if more of my mods are good to go, so that should be enough. If nothing else, yesterday’s to-dos should have proven I DO have a build project in mind, sooo. . .

And over on Valice Multiverse, just completed the Monday queue – two fandom reblogs for Alice and Victor, and a headcanon post from my friend Marie, w00.

Additionally:

-->FINALLY replied to Ace’s FF.net PM, after thinking I’d replied last week. *facepalm* I did open with an apology for keeping them waiting for so long. Really wish FF.net would send e-mails when a new one came through again!

And with that, and having cleared out my inbox here, I am DONE for the night, and really have to run to get to bed, as I do have work in the morning. At least it's a short week! Meaning if I fall behind on my subs again, I will have many more chances to catch up. Night all!
