Holy Crap An Early Update
Jan. 3rd, 2023 11:13 pmI have found a window and I am USING it -- mostly because everything on my to-do list is done:
Work – So, it was pretty damn busy, what with catching up on all the messages people left and all the e-mails in my inbox, and running loads of reports for Fiscal while juggling all that – but I’ve had much WORSE first days back at work after a break! A few people calling in at awkward moments, sure, but I got an uninterrupted lunch, and I was already winding down by the mid-afternoon. Though there was ANOTHER case of credit card nonsense I discovered – we’re having a call on Thursday about it. We’ll see if anything gets done.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – a longer night on the bike than usual (I was gonna see if I could make my breakfast muffins before my workout, but then Mom said she’d make them and I could just go work out, so – yeah, ended up doing 40 minutes total on the bike instead of 35), and within sight of the end of the Call Me Kevin “Rewind 2022” video! I completed the “One Shot Playthroughs” section with his clips of The Simpsons: Hit & Run and got through the entirety of the “The Lore of Jim Pickens: Kevin Plays Sims Games” section (which did feature some of Jim’s adventures, like trying to burn someone to death to summon the Grim Reaper so he could have a fancy My Wedding Stories wedding and setting up a cult in the basement of the Pancakes house after he killed them, but also things like the adventures of Kevin Pickens during his “no money no house” years in Henford-On-Bagley, a trip into Sims 3 with the genie Help Me and his mime antics, and Kevin playing co-op Sims 4 with Anna and tormenting her by adopting random toddlers and cats). I left off at the start of what I suspect is the final section, “MINECRAFT!” Which is about – well, guess. XD Currently in the clips of when he was playing with the super-realistic textures pack and his computers were boiling him alive. Will finally complete this tomorrow, w00!
2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland:” Check – back to this after my long Christmas/New Year’s break, with Alice reporting back to Boris after “killing” Venus with a convenient Polaroid of “proof.” And Boris, being very drunk and very happy, putting the moves on her, allowing her to ask him to get Dima out of the room. XD Yeah, Boris is about to get shanked – though now I have to figure out a way for Alice to do that without possibly getting her and Venus in even more trouble with the guy’s underlings. Just hiding the body won’t really do, they know who she is and that she originally came on Venus’s behalf. . .oh, but she’s already known as “ghost girl” because of her (literally) supernatural sneaking. . .what if she implied that she was an assassin sent by a rival mob. . .hmmm. . . *makes note*
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – even fit in a bonus, w00 –
A) Started with the latest OXBox list – “10 Biggest New Games Coming in 2023 We Can't Wait To Play!” Only it’s really twelve because Andy grouped three classic horror remakes – Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, and Silent Hill 2 – together. Or maybe it’s eleven because he’s not sure if SH2’s remake is really coming out this year. But any rate, some interesting titles due out in 2023, from Street Fighter 6 for the fighting-game fans, to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for the web-slinging fans (and don’t worry, it apparently features both Peter AND Miles), to Starfield for the “preparing to make a patch for Bethesda’s latest buggy mess” fans. (Yes, I own and enjoy Fallout 4, yes I enjoy watching other Fallout content, that does not preclude me thinking Bethesda needs to be held to higher quality standards.) Looking forward to seeing what’s gonna feature on the channel in the future!
B) And then it was over to the Subs for the return of Josh Way and “SKETCHY: Launchpad McQuack!” A double dose of Launchpad, in fact, as Josh did a drawing of him standing and saluting, decided he liked it well enough but he wanted something more daring, and thus also drew him firing a gun at some angular tentacles. XD Both drawings were very nice, and Josh used the latter half of the episode to detail just how much effort it takes for him to get the damn iPad screen recordings off his screen and onto his PC (using all sorts of special apps and his phone as a go-between). Good stuff!
C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and his latest – “When you ride a nuke into the moon,” aka Gray plays Missile Buddy! Or possibly Buddy Missile, as that’s what he said in his intro. It’s a game about riding various missiles (from regular little farts to giant ones painted like strange octopus-men) across the earth, over cities and oceans, and even into the farthest reaches of space itself, trying to get the best distance without being blown up by the OTHER missiles that have been fired at you to stop your destructive ways. Also you can be a muscleman, a hot dog, or a rather terrifying pig. XD Gray was absolutely delighted when he managed to reach space, and even happier with the payouts from reaching space. No rookie numbers here, that’s for sure! It’s always great to see him having fun with a game, even a simple mobile title that no one’s supposed to spend more than five minutes on. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – on Victor Luvs Alice, I’ve got the Chill Save update for the week for Wednesday, some more musings on that Multi-Fairy-Tale AU with Victor, Victoria, Emily, Alice, and Smiler for Thursday, and a funny post about how any man shipped with Alice becomes a malewife for Friday (yeah, I’d say that’s Victor’s vibe). And on Valice Multiverse, slapped one ask reply in the queue, nice and neat. Not too shabby!
And that's been my Tuesday (which I've had to remind self a couple of times IS Tuesday because, you know, passage of time fucked up thanks to twelve-day-long "Saturday" XD). Not the worst, at least. We'll see how the rest of the month goes as we ease ourselves into 2023! Night all!
