crossover_chick: Doc looking very sarcastically over his shoulder (BTTF: in a sarcastic mood)
Though I'm starting to worry I'm already hitting some PMS, because I seem to be a little more distracted, and a little grumpier than usual about something that annoyed me. . .hopefully it's just that I had to fight a bit with Spotify to get something to play and not any early manifestations of the red curse! But here is my day for you all to read about:

Work – Has gone from “pretty busy” to “pretty quiet” – after running some of the last reports for Fiscal this morning, I pretty much spent the rest of the day working on obituaries. *shrug* All right then! I guess I’ll take that. Though unfortunately today WAS a day when my lunch kept getting delayed or interrupted, which is weird but whatever. Hopefully tomorrow will be less irritating in that regard!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, finishing off the Call Me Kevin “Rewind 2022” video and starting the next Oxventure! Or, at least, trying to. . . Let me explain:

A) Call Me Kevin “Rewind 2022” – I was correct in that the “MINECRAFT!” section was the last, featuring him playing with the ultra-realistic textures; doing that challenge where you can only go in a straight line (having to swim across massive oceans because the biome hated him); playing that zombie apocalypse mod and building his base; and the One Chunk attempt in a sand biome that went so, so badly. XD A lovely look back at Kevin over 2022, even if I had to divide it up over a week and a half.

B) Oxventure – and since I still had about fifteen minutes after finishing Kevin, I figured, hey, why not start the next Oxventure, since the video indicates it’s one of the shorter live shows – “Let’s Get Fiscal!” So I found it on the playlist and put it on. The adventure began with Everyone Else In The World (aka Johnny) feeling poorly, so Luke stepped into their DM shoes, using the fact that Dob was sent away on international adventures and hasn’t yet caught up with the others to justify his absence. The other four were sat in a pub called the Surprise Inspection, having their usual drinks when a pair of little children, girl and boy, with big sad eyes came up and asked Corazon if he was indeed Corazon de Ballena. Corazon, sensing a paternity suit or The Black Spot, immediately denied it. XD The two children sadly wandered off, saying they’d have to get someone else’s help for the big glorious adventure they needed help with –

And then Luke began loading the little boy up with everything he could to get the guild to bite – the kid had tons of gold in his pockets, a gorgeous bow on his back, tentacles, and was somehow carrying atonement. XD The other members of the guild convinced Corazon to at least hear the kids out –

And THIS is where the video suddenly skipped forward, to someone named Fuddlestuff making notes and saying that they’d have to file some sort of extension form to avoid an audit. I was baffled and went back, thinking that something had gone wrong with YouTube, but no, the cut is in the video itself – I’m not sure what happened, but I went into the comments just now to check, and apparently there was just a frozen chunk of video there that they cut out, meaning that either something went wrong with their camera while filming this, or something went wrong in the upload. I tried looking for another video someone might have taken of the episode, but no dice, so instead I went into the description and comments after supper to see if there was any explanation. THOSE directed me to Spotify and the Oxventurer Podcast, which – after some fiddling – I managed to get working and listen to the missing scene. (I am somewhat annoyed no effort was made to try and splice in the sound over a still image, or at least put a link to the podcast episode in the description to help people locate the missing bit. Ended up leaving a comment doing the latter, linking to the episode and giving some rough timestamps.)

Anyway – Corazon was right, kids were a trap – but not for the reasons he thought. Instead, it turns out the tavern is aptly named, as the Oxventurer’s Guild was being hit with a surprise inspection by the G’eth version of the IRS. A VERY surprise inspection, as their table abruptly flipped over to reveal their gnome inspector, Fuddlestuff, on the other side. Corazon ATTEMPTED to just turn it back over, but a bad Strength roll of 4 mean the gears were locked too tightly, and Fuddlestuff said he wasn’t the first to try it, but it would reflect badly on their audit. XD Fuddlestuff then asked who the treasurer was, and was directed to a panicking Merilwen (or “Merylwen,” as Fuddlestuff tried to spell it), who, in response to his questions of “how much money does the guild have” and “do you have the receipts,” had to explain about Dob and his propensity for throwing shit in lakes (a pun was indeed made about “offshore investments”). Fuddlestuff wasn’t entirely convinced Dob was real, but was willing to give the adventurers the benefit of the doubt at least – but he also said that if Dob didn’t just magically turn up in the next ten minutes, they’d have to file a Temporary Extension form to delay their audit ten business days. And, of course, the form was in a dungeon the gang would have to make their way through – one right under the pub, in fact! I actually got a touch farther than this, but this is where I will pick up tomorrow, now that I understand what’s going on. *sigh* Oxventure, I love you, but come ooon, if you have the sound. . .

2. Continue writing “The Joker And The Queen:” Check – figured I could resume for now since I’m currently writing an Alice-focused scene and thus not the Coaster Gang. Said Alice-focused scene being her stalking around a mall because Wonderland directed her there for a job, hearing a scream and following it to a mugging, murdering the mugger – and discovering the people she saved are Victoria and Emily! Talk about a surprise reunion. . .at any rate, Alice is very awkwardly apologizing for murdering someone in front of them, while Victoria and Emily are awkwardly thanking her for the assist, and it’s all just so very awkward. XD Things will get a little better shortly, though!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Half check – I was hoping that MAYBE I could fit in both Kevin and Gray today, despite their videos combined being a little over an hour, but trying to find the missing chunk of “Let’s Get Fiscal” delayed my writing enough that I just didn’t have the time. So I ended up prioritizing GrayStillPlays and “stealing billionaire supercars in GTA 5!” Because who could pass that up? XD This episode of “Alex tortures Gray in GTA V” featured a trio of boards where Gray was stealing the fancy-ass cars of billionaires and had to complete horrible challenges to get them back to the guy who was going to resell them. First up was Elon Musk’s Cybertruck, and a course full of various spinning shapes that Gray had to jump between (consisting of cubes, rectangles, cubes with the corners cut off, and this weird constantly metamorphosing curved THING) before making it down a straight road with spinning blocks embedded in it (including two that turned into each other, making it the perfect opportunity to get your car juggled) and over a strange grid of vibrating tubes into the teleporter (which he missed twice because of tube jiggle). Second was Kayne West’s fancy gold-plated car, which Gray had to steal and then complete an elevated obstacle course in – dodging moving walls and explodey barrels, squeezing his way through thumbnail holes under tanker cars and in giant discs, and zipping around the police vehicles before taking a big super-jump onto the actual road and following the arrows back to the buyer – and he only had 69 seconds to do so before the police sent out the tanks. Which Gray interpreted as “you have 69 seconds PERIOD to complete this,” and really made things harder on himself before a phone call to Alex cleared up the issue, thankfully. XD And the third was any one of Vin Diesel’s cars, which Gray had to take on the world’s worst wall ride made entirely of CONTAINERS. Container twists! Container wall ribbons with container thumbnail holes! Container wall rides with only a small area to actually ride on! Containers going through random wind turbines! And a checkpoint before the BIG CONTAINER LOOP-DE-LOOP WHERE YOU HAVE TO GO INSIDE A BUNCH OF CONTAINERS AND THEN SLIDE ON THE ROOF INTO THE TELEPORTER. Yeah, Gray suffered a lot for this one, even AFTER finding a car that would work. (And then Alex mocked him for it because apparently that particular car is base game and the buyer wasn’t impressed. XD) So much Gray pain, so little time. . .

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – I reset the queue speed for Victor Luvs Alice back to one post again, and drafted out what will be my Song Saturday post, a reblog of the Blackmores Night song “Dancer And The Moon” because I mentioned in the tags of my Thursday post on my big Multi-Fairy-Tale-AU. Haven’t gotten it fully queue-ready yet because I’ve been a little distracted tonight, I had to make a new reblog chain because I had to edit the original post (the person who recommended it to me, Squid, changed their pronouns since the recommendation), and it occurred to me I might want to link the post it’s referencing, so – yeah, gotta wait for the Thursday post to fire before it goes in the queue!

*nods* Okay, at the very least, I got most of what I wanted done -- and tomorrow should be good for catching up on the Call Me Kevin video (more Stardew Valley challenges, with him doing a tiny farm). But yeah, wish that damn thing with the "Let's Get Fiscal" video hadn't thrown me and left me kind of cranky! Maybe I'm just tired, I dunno. . .speaking of which, I really should get to bed. Night all!
