crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
Like, it was sunny all day, but it was SO FUCKING WINDY. Massive freaking gusts all day. Pair that with it just barely hitting the 40s temperature-wise today, and -- yeah. Not exactly a great day to go out and about! Very glad the heat's back on in the office, and I have my nice big blanket here at home. . . Anyway, I am feeling the tired tonight as the week slowly winds down, so here's the to-do list --

Work – A swing toward the better again today, I’m happy to report – while we still had a few weird issues that needed resolving, there were fewer of them, and less phone calls overall. A lot more manageable, allowing me to catch up on some more roster maintenance work from the exceptions earlier this week. *nods* Now we just have to see what Friday’s going to be like. . .

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, working my way through more James Turner – specifically:

A) The end of “Why is my Sims life like this? Every Lot Challenge Again. (Part 6)!” The last twelve or so minutes of this episode featured Semaj fishing at the spot near the Desert Bloom park until he got a salmon (despite the fact that, thanks to pop-up preferences, he HATED fishing), then digging up every dig spot and crystal rock in the area until he got baconite; Semaj hitting the Magic Realm to learn some new spells (including Copypasto, aka The Most Broken Spell Ever) and brew up some potion of Forced Friendship now that he had the ingredients for it; Semaj finally coming home (after a VERY quick glance at the plants at the Spice Festival – everything was either not in season or not what he wanted), summoning Bonehilda, and forcing her into friendship, allowing him to FINALLY turn his Haunted House Residential lot back into a regular Residential lot; Semaj spotting Pelham’s ghost hanging around his urn and using the power of Forced Friendship to add him back to the household to revive him eventually (it’s one of the things on his to-do list!); and Semaj then feeding treats to one of the cats around the lot until they became friends, allowing James to spin the wheel and remove the “Quake Zone” lot challenge! So, all in all, a pretty productive episode! Semaj should be proud of himself. :)

B) The beginning of “I built a launch pad over my house. Every Lot Challenge Again. (Part 7)!” The very beginning of this episode actually saw James ADD a lot challenge for Semaj to deal with – “Maintenance Troubles,” the special challenge that comes with For Rent! This allows some of the maintenance events that you can get in Residential Rental lots to happen on regular Residential lots – it doesn’t work on Haunted House Residential lots, though, so James wasn’t able to use it until he cleared that. But he can now, and he added in the fuse box and water heater objects to make sure Semaj got the full experience from the challenge. :p He also rather reluctantly added in a few items for the children, including the giant bat stuffed toy and a ramshackle dollhouse right by the entrance to the bathroom. XD Once that was sorted, Semaj then spent rather a lot of time trying to get his friendship with his new cat buddy up high enough for adoption (only for James to realize that, since the cat was not currently marked as a “stray,” he would never actually GET the adoption option, whoops), before visiting Del Sol Valley to locate the paparazzi he fought earlier and officially declare her his enemy (because he needed an official enemy to drown in a pool for a challenge later, and they already despised each other, so). And once that was sorted (and Pelham had been briefly summoned to the lot to get to know the paparazzi so he could invite her over later for drowning purposes), it was back to the house to focus on grilled cheese and magic! Specifically, James had Semaj make a bunch of group servings of grilled cheese, then hork down basically an entire party-sized-platter of them to clear the next milestone of the Grilled Cheese aspiration and get to the fun stuff (like eating a grilled cheese in space, and talking to the Grim Reaper about grilled cheese), and also attempted to Copypasto his Potion of the Nimble Mind – only to fail and reduce it to ash. Forcing Semaj to remake it (fortunately he had the ingredients already from experimenting on his cauldron earlier). Happily, he was then able to Repairio and Copypasto the resultant flasks without further destruction, and use one of the potions to give himself some massive skill boosts when making more grilled cheese. XD Though he did overcharge at one point during the process, picking up the Curse Of Awkward Embraces, which makes him seek out people to hug them. James is more annoyed that this makes his Sim wander off the lot sometimes than the Sims are about getting hugged. XD Anyway, I left it with Semaj reopening his grilled cheese stand to sell a bunch of the grilled cheeses he’d made to get the cash to get a woodworking bench to level up his handiness and make woodworks to sell – the money for THAT, I presume, will be used to build that launching pad so Semaj can start going to space. :) We’ll see tomorrow as I finish this episode off!

2. Continue writing “Start At The Beginning. . .Sort Of”: Check – Alice has explained how Wonderland got her out of Rutledge to Victor and Smiler (along with how, despite killing the Queen of Hearts to defeat her catatonia, the woman won’t stay dead because unfortunately she represents an important part of Alice herself), and we’ve managed to wrap back around to Victor and Smiler assuring her that they never would have abandoned her to the Bluecoats – Smiler assuring her that they would have gotten their parents to claim her as a fellow Advocate if they’d gotten jailed, and Victor saying that he would have at least TRIED to get his parents to bail her (and Smiler) out along with him. Alice still doesn’t know what to make of people caring about her. :( You’ll get the hang of it eventually, Alice!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – today was a Josh Way-only day (well, technically – GrayStillPlays uploaded his next compilation, two hours of Roblox stuff, but obviously I couldn’t watch that tonight), with “SCREE TIME: Love Lies Bleeding Review!” (Yes, he misspelled his own title, it happens. XD) Loves Lies Bleeding being a lesbian crime noir film about the semi-estranged daughter of a crime lord working at the local gym getting involved with an amateur bodybuilder passing through on her way to a contest – one who also ends up getting a job with her crime lord dad without knowing either that he’s a crime lord or her dad. Josh thought it was a good movie, feeling it was another example of a UK director trying to emulate the Coen Brothers’ style when it comes to these kinds of noir-ish movies (and in this case, succeeding pretty well), but appreciating that the director, Rose Glass, managed to leave her own mark on the movie near the end. As usual, he refused to spoil anything about the film, but he made it clear that he enjoyed it, and would recommend giving it a watch – even recommending the director’s other film, Saint Maude, while he was at it, while cautioning that Saint Maude is a very different kind of movie. *shrug* Still, if you like 80s period pieces, lesbian bodybuilders, or interesting crime stuff, this may be the movie for you!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check –

Victor Luvs Alice – Got the fourth draft out of five for my next Chill Valicer Save update sorted with image alt text and tags! That just leaves the final post, which I should be able to finish up either tomorrow or over the weekend. :)

Valice Multiverse – Reblogged the first of my OT3 Week fics for Valicer into my queue, since I had nothing else happening. *shrug* And it occurs to me that I should share those fics over here too. . .I’ll do so on Saturday, since then I can link to all of them at once. :)

Not too shabby! But yes, hoping that Friday doesn't lean toward the "shitshow" at work again, like Monday and Wednesday did. . .keep your fingers crossed, everyone! Night all!
