crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
Yeah, I don't think I've been getting enough sleep this week, as I am feeling the tired tonight. Fortunately a non-cleaning weekend is coming up, so maybe I can get a little more sleep then...until that time, here is the to-do list --

Work – A slightly-frustrating day at the office – I spent a good portion of the morning trying to get into our database provider’s new FTP site (had to figure out the multi-factor authentication, had to figure out if the link they sent me was working or not, currently trying to figure out how I actually see files in the system…); and then the afternoon saw me have to do a work-around to update somebody’s credit card on one pledge, and take a gift from someone calling me back about an e-mail I sent them about not being able to process their gift as-is – back in fucking May. Like, dude. What the hell. *shakehead* But I got through it, and even finished some more roster maintenance stuff on the side – we’ll see what tomorrow brings!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, and back with the Tiny Town Shenanigans, with the first half of “The community is growing in the Tiny Town challenge! - Part 5” by James Turner! The focus Sim for this episode is Camillo, who is the guy into Luxe style, purple, and wellness, so James had him practice yoga until he got up to level two and thus could start teaching classes, then downloaded a very beautiful (if slightly glitchy, because this IS Sims 4) castle-themed spa lot for Windenburg and started having Camillo spend pretty much all his time there in his pursuit of wellness simoleons. XD Look, there’s nowhere for him to set up on his own on the Tiny Town lot yet! Not to mention, he actually has to spend a lot of time “working” at a spa for to fulfill Self Care Specialist aspiration and thus get the trait that greatly increases his money earned from all this wellness stuff. So, how’s he doing so far?

Eh – results have been mixed. Basically, he’s doing great with the foot and hand massages, getting some truly astronomical tips, but his attempts to teach yoga classes have fallen flat because Sims keep complaining they can’t access all the mats in front of the teacher’s mat. I think those things have to be MUCH farther apart than anyone thinks for Sims to be able to participate, and James seems to think so too – he’s mentioned he wants to try hosting a session at a park where he can spread out more. But Camilo has earned at least enough money to afford a tiny bathroom shack (literally all it has in it is a toilet and shower), and he’s doing his best to turn his older half-brother Krystoff into the “regular” customer he needs for his aspiration (starting with giving him back massages on his new portable massage table at a Tiny Town club gathering and then constantly asking him to come visit the spa he “works” at to receive more pampering. To be fair, Kyrstoff tips REALLY well, so…). We’ll see how he does, and if he manages to build a proper house before the episode’s end, tomorrow!

2. Start writing “A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded”: Check – I finished up Chapter One today, with the gang finishing their planning (and their breakfast – though Victor did NOT finish his, as he found a still-moving caterpillar in the last chunk, poor guy) and deciding to hit Houndsditch in the Ninth Hour, between lunch and dinner while the children are out playing in the courtyard. I also JUST started Chapter Two, with them arriving at Houndsditch’s back door into the kitchen, and Alice giving her companions one last chance to back out. Victor and Smiler will of course be “no way.” :) Tomorrow, the score proper begins – starting with the gang having a surprise encounter with Alice’s replacement...

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check plus – still getting in those bonus videos, even if they push my video watching later than expected –

A) First up, we had an OXtra list that was sitting in my Watch Later for over a week – “7 Terrible Rewards for Incredibly Hard Quests: Commenter Edition!” Jane and Ellen going through those quests in games that rewarded you horribly for all your hard work. Collect all those Korok seeds in The Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild? Congrats, your reward is a giant golden turd because the director of the game thinks he’s funny. Collect all those fossils and fill out the museum for Blathers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Congrats, your reward is a single poster – and THAT was apparently added in a patch! And finish the final mega-gauntlet in the “Gauntlet Mode” of Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, featuring EVERY FREAKING BOSS IN THE GAME? Congrats, your reward is – a sense of accomplishment, because THE GAME GIVES YOU SQUAT. I mean, as I put in my comment, the kind of people who play Sekiro Shadows Die Twice are probably the kind of masochists would be content with that, but STILL. What the hell, game.

B) And second up, we had the Josh Way video of the day – “RAW TAKE: Goodrich Review!” Josh’s thoughts on the new Michael Keaton movie, about an old rich guy who suddenly finds himself a single dad to his nine-year-old twins when his wife goes into rehab and leaves him, and who also has to deal with his grown-up daughter from his first marriage having a baby of her own. Said thoughts could be summed up as, “this is a good movie – not great, but solid enough, and Michael Keaton really makes you care about this old rich dude’s old rich problems.” XD So yeah – it’s not perfect, but it’s a halfway decent way to waste a couple of hours if you are so inclined. And a Michael Keaton fan. :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Technical check and check –

Victor Luvs Alice – My queue for the rest of the week is obviously sorted, but I did end up reblogging something that my friend Kev on tumblr showed me – someone’s fanart of Coraline from, well, Coraline in Alice’s dress and Alice wearing a version of Coraline’s iconic yellow raincoat and boots. With Coraline’s cat in Cheshire’s form and vice-versa. It’s quite cool! :)

Valice Multiverse – One ask from Toonsisters for the queue today, talking about how life is like a big game of Truth Or Dare, and how some people skew towards Truth, and others Dare, and still others are caught in the middle, before commenting that life is depressing sometimes. I had Cuddlepile!Alice respond that sometimes you have to take a risk (aka do a Dare) to find the truth, in her experience – and that Truth Or Dare is a multiple-round game, so you can always switch which one you pick. And then admit that yes, life can be depressing sometimes, but it DOES get better. :) So that was all right.

At least I got stuff done, despite the tired! And now it is time for me to head to bed and hopefully get a little more sleep tonight. Last day of work tomorrow -- night all!
