Happy Start To A BTTF Weekend!
Oct. 25th, 2024 10:04 pmYes, while BTTF Day was back at the beginning of the week, this year actually lines up perfectly with 1985 in regards to the weekend where all the time travel took place over the trilogy -- Friday the 25th, Saturday the 26th, and Sunday the 27th! And I had the chance to get the 10:04 timestamp tonight, so I took it. Go me. :p Anyway, here is the to-do list:
Work – Fairly quiet Friday – I did the GL; I finished off figuring out how to get into the new FTP system we’re using with our database provider (had to get past the multi-factor authentication again); I went through all the failed credit cards; I did a bunch of roster maintenance; and I took a call from a guy checking on his employer’s capital campaign pledge. Nothing particularly exciting, which I am just fine with. *nods* Hooray weekend!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike for the final time this week, finishing off the second half of “The community is growing in the Tiny Town challenge! - Part 5” by James Turner! Which consisted mostly of Camillo continuing the “go to the cool castle spa and try to earn money” gameplay loop (with occasional “give massages to the fam while at home on my portable massage table” breaks) while James tried to complete the Self Care Specialist aspiration so Camillo would get the trait that would double all his gains from his various wellness activities. The most notable things that happened were –
A) James getting SHOCKED when Camillo ended up with $2,000 bills, because apparently the floor tiles that he was using to designate everyone’s “apartments” on the lot before they could build up their actual buildings make rent SUPER expensive – fortunately for Camillo and his bathroom shack, James was like “no, $200 is a fair rent” and did a little cheating so Camillo only paid that much without upsetting his landlord. Whew!
B) Camillo THEN having to deal with a bunch off roaches infesting his bathroom shack – fortunately, stomping them all earned him a bit of money, presumably for clearing the problem himself rather than bothering his landlord
C) Camillo finally earning enough money from his days at the spa and completing enough of his aspiration to expand his home with rooms for a bed and his massage table, allowing him to move his operations to his home lot
D) Camillo finally completing his Self Care Specialist aspiration by giving Krystoff some massages at a club meeting (AFTER James figured out how to do PAID massages at home instead of just offering them for free – you have to TEND the massage table, much like you do a sales table or food stand), and promptly offering double-price fertility massages to anyone passing by to fund the purchase of a nice fancy bed; some actual walls and doors/archways between spaces; an actual kitchen, and flooring and wallpaper XD
E) And in small fun side notes, Camillo got shocked trying to change the weather on the home lot using the weather machine twice (ouch), and James discovered while complaining about how there aren’t enough purple swatches in the game that the portable massage table has a bright purple swatch for the cushion (which, paired with his purple yoga mat, really makes it seem like he was destined to be the Wellness Guru!)
So yeah – now Camillo has something approaching an actual house, and a trait that will allow him to earn pretty decent money from doing massages and teaching yoga classes (not that James has had much luck with those lately…)! So he’s in a good spot. Next time, we spin the rolodex again and see who comes up – if I remember correctly, I’m PRETTY sure the Part 6 title indicates we’re going back to Krystoff, but we will see!
2. Keep writing “A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded”: Check – we’re into Chapter Two now, with the trio having successfully made it into Houndsditch’s kitchen – but right after Alice observed that the place is cleaner than it’s ever been, meaning Victor was right to suggest that Dr. Bumby hired a new servant, the three were surprised by the arrival of June! Fortunately, Smiler IMMEDIATELY leapt to the rescue, introducing themselves, Victor, and “Ally” as Advocates and apologizing for coming in the wrong door before explaining they wanted to meet with Dr. Bumby about a collaboration to help make sure the children were happy while leaving for their new homes. I left it with them having finished up their little speech – we’ll see how June reacts tomorrow!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – just GrayStillPlays tonight, with “I got super powers that cause only suffering,” aka Gray plays Super Hero League 2! The sequel to that goofy superhero puzzle game that he played before, this one featured super heroes ranging from Super Scissors (who can use what I presume are telekinetic scissors to slice people up), to Super Spy (who relies on his glock and a bazooka – Gray was like “NOT A SPY WEAPON”), to Super Ninja (who just ragdolled into things to defeat the bad guys), to Super Eraser (can literally erase ANY BIT OF A PERSON HE WANTS), to Super Basket (who literally just dunks basketballs – sometimes without even defeating a bad guy). PLUS we got little mini-comics showing the team on the job – Super Eraser apparently gets a little crazy sometimes, while Super Ninja is rightfully nervous when he tries to confront a dude with a gun. XD I do love seeing a bit of cartoony violence on the channel – reminds me that Gray hasn’t completely broken from the torments of GTA V yet. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – while I didn’t have anything on Victor Luvs Alice (though I did spend most of the night exchanging messages with my friend Nebby there), over on Valice Multiverse, I had one ask from Toonsisters for the queue, with her presenting an illustration of her playing Gang Beasts with the Cuddlepile trio (showing Smiler giving the camera a giant grin in the foreground; Alice and Toonsisters scrapping it out in the middle; and poor Victor laying already defeated in the background). The trio very much enjoyed it, and I did too. XD
Not too shabby -- and now it is time for me to hit the sack. Mom's insisting we go out to a nearby park for a walk tomorrow, so that's going to throw my day off a little bit, but goals include working on my Victor Luvs Alice drafts (either going through my tags for more stuff I can reblog or trying to clean up some drafts that have been sitting in there for a bit); playing Sims 4 and either doing some building or some CAS stuff (as I kind of want to make a certain villainous lord that will eventually appear in the VITD series, just so I can have a better idea of what the hell he looks like); working some more on "A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded" (gotta keep the momentum going on Chapter Two!); and keeping up with GrayStillPlays and Jon's two series (I'll probably save the rest of the stuff in my Watch Later for when I have my six-days-off stretch around Halloween). Hopefully these are all achievable goals -- night all!
