crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)
I mean, it actually got up to freezing (32 F) today, soooo -- progress? :p The real warmth is coming at the beginning of next week though, where it will start sniffing around 40 F again...not sure for how long, but we should get a couple of days of Not Completely Freezing weather. Looking forward to it! As for my day --

Work – Eh day at work – traffic in was okay, and the day itself not especially taxing (two credit card calls and more roster maintenance), but my coworkers were being yappy and annoying, so that didn’t do much for my mood. *sigh* Just one day to go, at least!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with “The Second Finale in Tiny Town Challenge! - Part 15” by James Turner! Today’s chunklet focused primarily on two things:

A) Krystoff finishing off all the family portraits for the Tiny Town Gallery beneath the town hall! Well, Krystoff and Rahul – remember how I mentioned yesterday that it would be rather hard for Krystoff to paint himself? Well, turns out James had the same thought, looked up at what skill level Sims can “Paint From Reference” (level 3, by the by), and had Rahul paint until he got to that level so he could do Krystoff’s painting. Technically his was of much worse quality, but it looked exactly the same as all the others, so… XD But yes, everyone now has a portrait (despite their best efforts to ruin the shot every time James tried to catch them in a good pose in front of their backdrop), complete with a fancy frame (thanks to trickery-pokery with “move objects”) and scaled-down lights to light ‘em up! James also took a moment to finish off the “spares” room at the end with flooring and wallpaper – eventually we’ll have some pictures of Rahul, Kyra (Pablo’s daughter), Pecan (Pablo’s horse), and any other side characters of note in there!

B) James working on getting Krystoff’s house completed! After having Krystoff put some cash in the bank by having him make and sell a bunch more paintings with the sketchpad (which also saw Kyrstoff complete his final masterpiece and complete his aspiration as well, yay), James started work on the final renovations, beginning with building a connecting area between the former TV room and the former study downstairs and turning it all into one big conservatory/art studio wrapping around the side of the house! Complete with a glass ceiling for the corner space, big glass windows on the diagonal wall, some nice furniture (originally bought as “set pieces” for Krystoff’s portrait), plenty of painterly décor (James going ahead and just unlocking all the stuff you normally get from the Painter career, which, hey, fair), and an easel and a subject mark by the big windows. I left it with James trying to find a nice “backdrop” bit of art to put behind the mark for future portrait subjects – tomorrow, we should be able to finish all this off and see what the final product looks like! I already know a nectar cellar will be involved, since James saw a comment saying Krystoff should have one and really liked it – though it unfortunately won’t have any real nectar in it, since despite James’s best efforts (including downloading a really nice “nectar store” lot off the Gallery and having Semaj buy it so it would function like a real store), Krystoff couldn’t buy any on a trip to Chestnut Ridge. :( Shame – but I’m sure it’ll look good regardless! :)

2. Continue working on “A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded”: Check – got another page done on this today, with Alice assuring Elder Gutknecht that she doesn’t plan to make murder a habit (outside of Wonderland anyway) and the gang making a plan to hit Houndsditch around the Ninth Hour (which is in what would be the afternoon for them because of their messed-up clock). And Victor once again being like “you people really eat like this?” when it comes to surprise loaf and other poor person fare. XD Should be able to wrap up the chapter tomorrow with the new scene with Sooty, then maybe on Saturday I can post the sucker? We shall see...

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Substitution check – nothing in the Subs today (no GSP compilation, no Josh Way, no nothing), so I instead watched the next CaFae Latte episode that I needed to catch up on – “CaFae Latte Season 20 - TikTok Compilation” by C. M. Alongi! Featuring Cyrus and Patrick verbally taking down an “alpha male” using the cafe to meet a date (and then helping the date escape when it turns out she overheard all his nonsense); Bob and a pregnant lady taking down a woman being a bitch about the pregnant woman drinking caffeine (guess who got silenced!); Bob and Cyrus refusing to be recruited by the CIA (and Bob making some pointed comments about how she doesn’t want to be the Queen of the United States, but if they keep pushing…); Bob conducting some fairly disastrous interviews for the new location with the help of an enchanted chair (ruling out a horny teenager and some bigoted jerks); a demon showing up with a hellfire delivery for the cafe prompting a discussion of what “Hell” is actually like (not a torture show for the damned, just a hot place with a REALLY good restaurant run by Yarn Granny’s Baptist cousin); and Bob successfully interviewing and hiring Husniya (human part-time cafe worker and prone to “mommy mode”), Drek (half-goblin teenager, part-time dishwasher), and Rethu (genderfluid dragon with a human form who loves talking to people, but don’t let her near the ovens). Usual fun stuff – I do appreciate the opportunity to catch up a little more on the series!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – didn’t have anything to do over on Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) today, but I had an ask from Toonsisters for the Valice Multiverse queue – her sharing a “snow cream” recipe with the Cuddlepile Valicer trio! Made from snow, a can of condensed milk, and as much sugar and flavoring as per your tastes. Smiler thought it sounded awesome, though Alice was a little worried about sourcing the snow, given that, well, snow that’s outdoors is unlikely to be the cleanest. XD Victor’s come up with a potential workaround in gathering it fresh from the sky in cups next snowstorm, however. Seems like the safest way to get it to me!

Nothing too interesting, I suppose, though it was good to catch up on CaFae Latte and get some more done on "A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded." And now it is time to head to bed so I can make it through Friday. *nods* Night all!
