Somewhat Less Tired Tuesday
Feb. 4th, 2025 11:53 pmLike, things were a little less exhausting at work, and I had a reasonably productive, nice night (apart from paying my phone bill, ugh), so yeah -- feeling better than I did yesterday. :) So here's the write-up:
Work – A somewhat-less-busy Tuesday today, though I still felt like every time I started making progress on one thing, the phone started ringing. *grumble* But I cleared up some more exceptions; sent a thank-you letter out to a guy for his massive gift; took more credit card calls; did some checks on a QC file for the next round of thank-yous; and helped Fiscal track down some money that wasn’t where it should be. And, on the plus side, not only did Talky Coworker have to leave early (familial emergency – not a major one, but she was the only one who could pick someone up), at the very end of the day we got an e-mail informing us that tomorrow shall be a half day because they’re repairing the water main! So I get to come home tomorrow at 1 PM, yay~ :D That’ll make things a little better!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, with the other half of the GrayStillPlays compilation “100 Dangerous Superpowers!” (Though I did have to sneak in the last four minutes or so before supper.) I finished off the “collecting elemental powers” runner game video (with Gray forcing John Wick and Harley Quinn to wear a goofy viking hat as they ran around collecting elements like “space” and “acid”) and got through the original Super Hero League video (where Gray was less than impressed with Super Boom’s grenade-throwing but VERY impressed with Super Brush’s ability to paint murderous YEETs) and the Mr. Fight video (where Gray spent all of his time ragdolling into people to murder them – at least until he unlocked the fireball power and then spent all of his time hitting them with fireballs). Fun stuff, even if a lot of it felt fairly recent – it hasn’t been THAT long since he did the Super Hero League and Mr. Fight games, has it? (Don’t tell me it has, it’ll just make me sad.)
2. Continue working on “Londerland Bloodlines: Dowtown Queensland”: Check – Alice made it through all the various identical halls of the Brotherhood’s den today, taking out more zombies, before finally finding a hole to fall down. Which led her to the other side of the very door she was ripping planks off of before to arm herself and Jennifer with. She was rather sour about that. XD But what’s done is done, and she is currently on her way to give Bishop Vick what-for with extreme prejudice. As she told the delighted Queen, she can’t guarantee her she’ll take off his head, but she’s damn well gonna try. Tomorrow, we finally introduce her to the asshole, and she’ll get to see just how assholey he really is...
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Substitution Check – as there was nothing in the Subs today, I instead did a double dose of C. M. Alongi’s CaFae Latte compilation videos, getting through –
A) “CaFae Latte Season 22 - TikTok Compile” – where Bob and Jennifer Charles manage to stop a robber (without curses but with fast fairy reflexes); JC’s insecurities get the better of them when they get accepted to their college program and immediately think “my friends have done this via magic” (fortunately a chat with Bob made them realize they were being a bit of an asshole); all the staff gets introduced to how the kitchens and Cyrus holds a drink-making race between Rethu and Drek while preparing for the reopening (poor Drek forgot the chocolate in the mocha); and the cafe holds its grand reopening with some familiar faces showing up – along with an asshole mocking them for setting up a “neighbor’s account” that people can donate to so others can get their drink/snack for free (sadly, Bob hadn’t established the shop as her new domain firmly enough to curse the jerk, but at least everyone else there was able to verbally take them down). Short but sweet!
B) “CaFae Latte Season 23 - TikTok Compile” – where Cyrus tries to steal a very nice pen from Rethu and Bob lets everyone know that there’s a promo code for it in the description; Rethu and JC make fun of Cyrus for liking pumpkin spice, and Bob comes in to point out that the ingredients in the flavoring have been used for centuries and thus she liked it BEFORE it was cool; the guy who was a sexist jerk about “gendered” drinks comes back in and asks for an EXTENSION on his curse, as he’s actually grown to really enjoy the traditionally-feminine skills he’s now good at (Bob, now finally settled in her domain, kindly let him keep the “better at traditionally-feminine skills” part of the curse for another year while assuring him the “worse at traditionally-masculine” part would wear off on schedule); Husniya puts an asshole who doesn’t understand “invisible disabilities” in their place (freaking out Drek, who was like “she was so nice!” Rethu: “yeah, that’s how they get you”); Cyrus getting a new drinking game and getting Patrick, Husniya, Rethu, Janine, and Kenny to all join them for an end-of-summer blow-out to test it (there was a VERY funny moment when everyone was eyeing each other when someone pulled a “drink if you’re straight” card – only Patrick had to drink, by the by); and Bob gives a history lesson to a snob who tells her that, as a cafe, she should be doing things the Italian way, by pointing out coffee got its start in Ethopia and was actually banned in Europe for a while because the cafes competed with taverns and a drunk populace was easier to control. XD Good stuff, as always!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check, w00 –
Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) – Got the queue for the rest of this week done, I’m happy to say:
A) Wednesday – a reblog of someone’s very awesome Fallout 4 “Glowing Sea” vacation advert for a zine, featuring Hancock lounging in a radiation pool while Nick runs away from a Deathclaw (itself pursued by Strong) and Codsworth offers you a fancy drink XD – it’s just so great
B) Thursday – a reblog of someone’s Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines-inspired fanart, featuring a Toreador with electric yellow eyes, and fancy purple make-up – gee, wonder why I liked that XD
C) Friday – a reblog of someone’s gifset of a moment from Season 2, Episode 1 of Severance, with Milchick telling Mark S. that they believed his old boss Ms. Cobel had developed a fixation on him and hoped to somehow be with him and his Outie Mark Scout in a “Thruple” – I put in my tags that I’m not OPPOSED to World’s Weirdest Polyamory in this show, just I want it to be between Helly R., the Marks, and Mark’s supposedly-dead wife Gemma/Ms. Casey
D) Saturday – a reblog of someone’s audio post featuring “The Starting Line,” by Neil Cicierega (that song that is a mash-up of the starting lines of a bunch of other songs), which I found via going to a random page in my “#song saturday” tag, seeing it on the top of the list, and going, “you know what? I like this song, and it goes with the whole ‘random stuff I like’ theme for this week. Let’s reblog it.” XD Hey, helped me fill up the last slot in the queue list nice and easy!
Valice Multiverse – Had two asks for the queue tonight over here, yay:
A) One from Toonsisters, asking “If you ever got to meet your past self, what would be something you warned them about in the future?” Cuddlepile!Alice naturally said she’d warn her younger self what Bumby was going to do and to make sure he got caught if he tried to break into the house; Victor said that he’d probably tell his younger self to cut his ties with his parents sooner and more completely, as they’re never going to truly accept him; and Smiler – who, out of the three of them, has had the happiest and most well-adjusted life – went with warning their younger self that they’re going to have appendicitis when they’re fifteen, so don’t delay in telling their parents about any mysterious pains they get. *shrug* I mean, I wanted to establish they had appendicitis and thus have a scar on their belly, so…
B) And one from an anon, going “Never make promises you can’t keep unless they are campaign promises.” Cue Cuddlepile!Alice sighing heavily and going “well, there’s some promises we hope certain people DON’T keep.” Because that is the mood. >(
*nods* Not bad, not bad. And now I have to head to bed, because while I have a short day tomorrow, I still have to get up at the normal time. Such is life. Night all!
