This Week Remains Fairly Shitty
Feb. 12th, 2026 11:50 pmMy day wasn't TOO bad, but my parents had a time of it, because ONCE AGAIN we're having trouble getting fucking pain meds for Dad. *pinches nose* I swear, we seem to deal with only the shittiest and most incompetent of doctors and nurses... Mom's going to call more people tomorrow and make sure the prescription goes through. In the meantime, here's the write-up for today:
Work – It was a mostly-fine day at work – with the servers back up, everything was functioning normally, and I could do all the regular morning reports in the morning and whatnot. I spent most of the day with credit card stuff, honestly – contacting people about failed payments; taking calls from a handful of the people I’d contacted and getting their gifts and pledges sorted; and looking up more missed payments. The one truly annoying thing happened near the end of the day, when my coworker tried to take a credit card pledge over the phone – only for an error message for a problem we thought was fixed to pop up again, and prevent the pledge from going through. *sigh* Cue me sending another e-mail to the credit card people before we left – we’ll see if they actually get back to me tomorrow! Given it’s going to be Friday the 13th, I doubt it.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – hopped back on the bike tonight and pedaled my way through the remaining half of “Fallout: New Vegas - Old World Blues - The Level 1 Naked Useless Survival Run! (Minus three minutes I had to watch after supper.) The second chunk of Useless Steve’s SCIENCE ADVENTURES included –
A) Useless Steve, after learning from Dala post-getting-her-off-via-radar-scan that Big MT actually was a mountain at one point, but the Think Tank exploded the top off at some point, creating the crater (which Jon was suspicious of because none of the architecture of the buildings in the crater suggested this facility was previously fully underground), making a plan to maybe try to get some of the goodies from Little Yangtze before heading south to the X-2 Transmitter Antenna Array to get the special technology there (as it was the easiest to retrieve) before stepping outside for the first time –
And IMMEDIATELY going into [DANGER] because his Sneak is SO abysmal enemies can spot him from halfway across the map. XD Steve proceeded to get his shit wrecked by a gang of Lobotomites (humans who have ALSO suffered brain surgery at the hands of the Think Tank) wielding Caravan Shotguns and Proton Axes (both the regular kind and the throwing kind), while doing absolutely piddly amounts of damage to them with his terrible Sonic Emitter. Welcome the Big Empty, everybody! Jon really wishes it was empty right about now! (I’m kidding, he was laughing his head off about Useless Steve’s terrible situation.)
( The Usual Cut Of Longness )
2. Continue editing Chapter 6 of “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check – got through another page tonight, covering:
A) Alice encountering the actual office space behind the office door – a little cubicle farm full of bland gray half-walls and desks, with a few bits and pieces of personalization here and there, like a calendar with beautiful mountain views, or crayon scribbles from the kids at home. She also found a bottle of pills someone accidentally left by their keyboard – the Queen of Hearts urged her to take them and sell them to Trip, but Alice was like “no, whoever left these here NEEDS them, if I need money I can find other things to sell to Trip” and instead stowed them safely in a drawer. Because Alice feels for those who need meds to function – she herself would happily take medication for her madness if she could!
B) Alice finding a door on the other side of the office that she hoped led to the basement – only to be prompted by Cheshire to pull out the map Victor drew for her of the lower levels (as opposed to the official museum map he annotated for her). Alice did so, remembering that Victor took a tour of the basement, so of course he’d know where the door to access it would be (and grousing about how she should have checked the map earlier, before allowing she still would have had to take the long way around to get the key) –
And, after unfolding the map, she spotted a little sketch of the very room she was in, with an arrow pointing to the very door she was in front of, with a note saying that, yes, this is exactly how Victor got into the basement when he took that tour. And that she’d probably need to find a key, but given he overheard one guard yelling at another for leaving his around, that shouldn’t be much of an issue. Alice was deeply amused. XD
C) And Alice commenting in her amusement that LaCroix would probably kill for a ghoul as helpful as Victor, before noting he didn’t seem to think much of the very-helpful Mercurio, so maybe he wasn’t as good at recognizing talent as he thought…
Only for Cheshire to warn her that LaCroix would definitely recognize something he wants, and that Victor needed to be kept out of his eye at all costs. A concerned Alice said that she’d been planning to keep Victor away from LaCroix anyway, but she thought the issue was that LaCroix would have her killed for making a ghoul by accident, not that LaCroix would want Victor for himself – Caterpillar told her that he’d use the first to justify the second, and further warned that Victor should really be kept away from as much of vampire society as possible. Alice guessed that meant “everyone but those Rosa said I could trust,” which Caterpillar confirmed – though he did add that there were a few people on the “trust as far as I can throw them” list that were okay, and that “Tung and the volcano goddess are lighter than they look.” XD Alice snorted, then assured them again that she’d already decided to keep Victor away from vampire society as much as possible – if only because most Kindred are assholes. Carpenter passively-aggressively complained about her wording, only for her to shoot back she didn’t think much of how he talked either. XD
Fun times! I left off with Alice preparing to descend into the basement at last – next time, she’ll be sneaking around all the guards and fooling some cameras with Victor’s bubbly blood!
3. Watch something on FreeTube: No check – I straight up did not have the time, and there was no list video from OXBox either, so… Honestly, I ended up rewatching more of my workout video than I thought while doing my overly-long recap, so maybe that should count for this category as well, like how I combine the two on Sundays for F:NV YOLO Remastered. *shrug*
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – there wasn’t anything going on over on Valice Multiverse, but on Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler), I was able to fully complete my post for tomorrow, and partially complete two of my posts for Saturday:
A) First, I finished up my two new Valentine’s Day-themed Not-Incorrect Quote scenes for this year, reblogging them onto the end of the original set and adding them to the queue! They include:
I. A text conversation between Victor, Alice, and Smiler consisting of Alice informing the others that she was making a red-and-white checkerboard cake for them for Valentine’s; Smiler suggesting a group date for the occasion and asking how everyone felt about ice-skating – after Victor and Alice pointed out it would probably be a bad idea to strap knives to Victor’s feet, they switched to visiting the rollerblading place where they had their first three-person date; and Alice and Smiler teasing Victor about what over-the-top gifts he had planned for them this year –
Only for Victor to reveal that Radcliffe was at one of his parents’ parties recently, because his parents were thinking of retaining him as a lawyer. Meaning he at least has a chance of getting Alice’s rabbit back. Alice and Smiler promptly turned this into a group project, with Alice saying she’d like to have some words with him about her inheritance too and Smiler telling Victor to lure the guy to Sunny Brews (the coffee shop where they work) so they could help as well
II. And a scene where Smiler and Alice present Victor with a surprise gift one Valentine’s when they weren’t supposed to be doing presents – they saw the item and just felt it was so him, and besides Victor gives them stuff all the time, so – and Victor opening it...to find a collar with a ring and a snap-on tie, as in this picture, only in blue. Cue Alice and Smiler having a laugh and reiterating how very him it was, with Victor blushing and laughing along – Smiler said that now he had a tie to fiddle with during their kinky scenes, only for Victor to retort that if he was fiddling with his tie during one of those, Smiler was doing it wrong. To which Smiler agreed...and then asked if he wanted either them or Alice to put it on him. Victor was very “please.” XD
Yeah, I like those! I’m glad I was able to come up with SOMETHING in time! And now I’m set for tomorrow, yay~
B) And second, I drafted out the posts for the official trio of Valicertine’s and the “Making Memories” bonus image for Saturday! Didn’t quite get them done, but I got the pictures and the initial text and tags sorted for both posts, and even managed to alt-text the first Valicertine. I’ll have to finish these up tomorrow – along with figure out a Song Saturday. Though I already have an idea for a poly song I could use, honestly…
So yeah, some decent progress there! Yay~
Good to actually get some stuff done -- but I am tired as FUCK, so I am heading to bed. We'll see what tomorrow brings and if I'm awake for it. Night all.
