Somewhat Dull Wednesday
May. 6th, 2026 11:53 pmIt wasn't a particularly exciting day for me -- the weather was "eh" (a bit colder than advertised, and just rainy enough to be annoying driving home), and there wasn't much going on at work or at home. The biggest excitement of my day was in my workout video, as you shall see shortly:
Work – As indicated, it was a pretty dull day at work today – my time at the office consisted of:
A) Running the usual morning reports and doing the usual morning check deposit
B) Matching a whole bunch of ID numbers to pledge card scans...and cleaning up an instance where a gift went on a father’s record instead of a son’s because apparently the processor in question found the father’s record first and didn’t bother to double-check that he had the right one *sigh* I get the amount of Juniors and Seniors we have in this state is annoying, but come on
C) Helping my coworker figure out something weird going on with the United Way payroll deduction payments she was trying to post (we got it resolved in the end, but it was tricky as hell)
D) Having the usual Useless Check-In Call With The Credit Card People, followed by sending them another e-mail I fully expect them to ignore and updating my “problems we’ve had with them” document a little bit, since I’ve gotten out of the habit after my Unexpected Long Break in January
Yeah, as you can see, nothing particularly exciting or fun. Mostly just boring and frustrating, meh. *shrug* But what can you do. We’ll see if there’s more for me to do tomorrow!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – tonight’s pedal session saw me get through –
A) The end of “Let's Play Resident Evil Requiem: MOTORCYCLES and CHAINSAWS! Episode 6!” The final twenty minutes of which featured:
I. Leon finishing his climb through the ruined building (battling one last lot of BSAA zombies wielding grenades and such – Andy was very careful to NOT let them get to the glass “floor” section below despite Jane’s suggestion for fear that the explosions would take out ALL the glass in one go) and finally reaching the BSAA camp at the top, where he snagged the final detonator part he needed (the relay, if you were wondering)! Mike found himself wondering what Grace was up to as he did – Andy joked that she was hanging out with “Zeno and Snakeman, attorneys at law,” while Jane said she was probably still feeling guilty about Emily and thus allowing herself to drift into the villains’ evil scheme. It HAS been quite a while since we checked in with her, I gotta say...
II. Leon exploring the area and getting some goodies from the various containers dotted around the place (including picking up a better set of body armor from the Official Merchant Box with his kill credits), before spotting what looked like one of those window-cleaning lifts with his binoculars and deciding that was his ticket back to ground level – cue him vaulting over the side of his vantage point and getting such sick air time on the drop that Mike decided that Leon could probably just jump off the side of the building and be fine. XD I mean, Leon has been jumping off a LOT of things in these videos, and he hasn’t shattered his shins yet! And as the end of the video will show, such ridiculous stunts are really NOT beyond him...
( More zombie fights, nostalgia, and UTTER RIDICULOUSNESS below )
2. Write Squid’s gift fic: Check – when I asked Squid what they wanted, they said they didn’t have anything specific in mind, but thought something featuring Ash Rivers and their OC Bianca Hawke (Ash’s girlfriend in our private RP stuff) might be nice. So tonight I whipped up a little story featuring Bianca trying to convince Ash to get rid of a terrible baseball cap she found in his closet, only for Ash to insist that the cap had sentimental value. Because it was the cap he wore when he first returned to Los Angeles, ready to help repay his debts to Arianna (for, you know, saving him from the Society of Leopold) after a long stint hiding out in Canada – and thus the cap he was wearing when Bianca and her sister Alice offered to put him up in their place. Meaning he kind of associates the cap with the start of his and Bianca’s relationship. :) Bianca allowed the sentiment, but still said it was a terrible cap – Ash agreed but said it should be fine living at the back of his closet as a memento then. Bianca told him she’d allow it, but he’d better bury it deep in said closet so her Toreador “can’t have ugly shit around instincts didn’t overwhelm her – Ash argued that if HE could overcome the “it’s not aesthetic” screams in his head, she could too. XD It’s pretty rough at the moment, but, well, that’s why we call them rough drafts. :p I plan to do some research back into some of the old Ash and Bianca RPs later, make sure I’ve got voices right, and next week I’ll clean it up and revise in time for Squid’s birthday. *nods* Sounds like a plan, no?
3. Watch something on YouTube: Technically no check (for real this time)...but I’m gonna be honest, while doing the Workout Video Write-Up, I did gleefully rewatch that entire motorcycle sequence from the end of Episode 6 of the OXBox RE9 LP. Because it was RAD, everyone. XD And I did get one of my plushies to watch it with me (Dougie the dragon), so – perhaps that counts? :P We’ll call it a half-check.
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) to worry about tonight, and I was able to chuck one more thing in the queue this eve – namely, “Valicer In The Dark Meets Baldur’s Gate III Not-Incorrect Quotes/Shitpost Collection Volume 3” for Friday! Because I did finish that post this past weekend and wanted to share it. Hence why my first two queued items were some Blades In The Dark NPC art and a video about Baldur’s Gate III. Now I just have to find a Song Saturday...have I shared “Traveler’s Song” by Aviators? That feels like an appropriate song to go with all the other posts, as I do associate it with the VITD group being in the BG3 world...
So yeah -- mostly dull day except for the RE9 stuff, because motorcycles. XD And now I should hit the sack before it gets too late -- night all!
