How to Injure Yourself at a Drycleaners
Jul. 8th, 2005 11:11 pmNo, I'm not talking about sticking yourself with a safety pin (which, surprisingly, doesn't happen that often). This is what happened -- I was getting this lady's pickup for drycleaning. We staple the person's slip onto the bag, so we can see it, and we tear the slip off when the customer picks it up. I tear it off -- and I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow one of the staples ended up in my finger. I'm freaking out a little, not sure what to do -- luckily the customer happened to be a nurse and helped me get it out. Figures, though -- the first aid kit had no bandaids, so Bonnie and I had to use some gauze. I'm okay, though, it's just a small cut.
-M: Still, that must have been creepy.-
Oh yeah. Not every day that happens. But I'm okay now, and that's that. I have the weekend to myself.
Speaking of which, played some more Sims today -- in an effort to keep things relatively even, I played Hill Valley -- the Baines and the Browns. Both of them had productive Tuesdays. At the Baines household, Sally served everyone cereal for breakfast, while the boys took turns in the bathroom. Joey called Marty before school, while Milton wrote in his diary (and tried to hide it from a snacking Toby):

Joey then had Doc over -- Doc brought Clara's friend Christy. I had Christy get acquainted with Sally as Toby and Doc hit it off.

After all having lunch together, Milton and Sally went off to their jobs while Toby and Joey simply hung out. Milton and Sally both got good chance cards -- Milton becoming Limpy the Mascot on his and gaining some skills, while Sally got a 150 bonus for helping her restaurant pass a health inspection. Joey gave Marty another call before napping. Milton and Sally came home, both exhausted -- although Sally got a promotion to Drive Through Clerk (which is good, they need the money). Sally had to get up late at night to pee and shower -- and since she has high Neatness, I had her clean too:

After that, it was over to the Browns. I decided that I would try and get Jules and Verne in private school again. First, though, Clara learned how to make pancakes, and everyone had a family breakfast.

-VD: O.o Is Verne trying to eat his hand?-
LoL, I know, looks like it, huh? That's the way SimKids eat. Anyway, Clara went to work and Jules and Verne to school, leaving Doc alone. He called up Toby, invited the headmaster, and did some skillbuilding. Doc then headed to his job, leaving Kendal to come and apparently make some baked Alaska.

I had Clara dismiss her and make some Pork Chops while Jules played with classmate Chandler and Verne watched TV. (For some reason, now that Clara's carpool and the bus come home at the same time, the kids glitch onto the lot. Not complaining, though -- frees them from doing homework!)
Headmaster BJ showed up at five -- Jules said goodbye to his new friend and called BJ in for dinner. He was impressed and schmoozed appropriately.

Doc came home, trailing Seamus -- I had Clara chat up Seamus while Doc worked on BJ. After a chat, Doc offered a tour of the house. BJ quite liked the Brown farmhouse. :)

The tour was sucessful, and with about 3 hours to go, Jules and Verne were in!

I promptly set about trying for a baby. However, although I saved right before the blessed event and tried five times, still no musical tone. :(
-D: *fidgety* Well, ah --
-VD: *fidgety* I'm sure it's nothing.-
-VD2: *looks at them* My wife had triplets. There is NOTHING WRONG WITH US.-
-OD: *tentacles chitter in agreement* . . . . Okay, kids, you have NO idea how disturbing that was. Please, for future reference, I don't need THAT kind of encouragement.-
-M2: For the love of God,
foxywriter just posted that story, do we HAVE to talk about this?!-
Hehe, sorry. I'm toying with the idea of adopting Martina -- I've never actually adopted a child before. Heck, considering I've only gotten two of my Sims pregnant (and one's not even showing yet). . . .
-M: Whatever you do will be fine. Please change the subject.-
Well, I have to go type anyway. I'll leave you with this romantic pic of Doc and Clara:
