In every way but weatherwise, which was actually decently nice. Windy, yes, but reasonably warm -- and the weekend's supposed to be REALLY warm. Like, Saturday's going to be unseasonably warm. Dunno how long it'll last, but I'll enjoy it while it's here! :) But yeah, today was pretty decent overall:

Work – A pretty quiet day at work today, I’m happy to report – I spent the morning catching up with what I missed yesterday (not too much, fortunately) and collecting reversals that needed to be done (plus taking one credit card call), then the afternoon doing said reversals so they’d be off my plate. And then they let us out at 3 PM, so I got to come home nice and early! :) Not a bad way to start off a long weekend – and now I have four days to myself, yay~ I will take it!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with “Our family chaos is growing in The Sims 2 Rags to Riches - Part 6” by James Turner! And the chaos is indeed growing, though so far things are still going pretty well for the Renrut family – here are the highlights of today’s chunklet:

A) The family had a few successful days running the store (both with and without employees – James forgot that you have to call them in manually each time you open), with Iled’s early efforts in particular getting them up to Rank 6! James promptly took the first rank of the “Wholesaler Discount” perk line so he could get items from the catalog to sell at a discounted price and not have to rely on crafted items all the time (though he has had Iled resume making pottery to sell as well). Plus their main salesperson, Gina, got a Gold rank Sales badge the day she came into work, though she proved to be as successful at using the “Dazzle” interaction it granted on customers as Semaj was when he got it (aka, not very). James also got little Reswob into the whole retail thing by getting him a lemonade stand and setting it up on the path to the business – so far, he’s only had a couple of sales, but he’s learning! :) That being said, two customers DID pass out from too much time spent around the evil snapdragons, and as far as I know, they haven’t woken up again yet… Where’s Prince Charming with true love’s kiss when you need him?

B) Noulg grew up into a toddler in a snazzy tuxedo – surprising James, as he’d completely lost track of when this kid was supposed to grow up. XD Iled promptly got put on “super mom” duty again and, with a bit of help from Smart Milk, taught Noulg a nursery rhyme, how to talk, how to potty, and how to walk! So kiddo’s doing good and should grow up well when the time comes. And hopefully James doesn’t forget about his birthday again. XD (And, in related news, both Semaj and Iled have a want for another baby, which James did indeed lock…)

C) After studying some Mechanical skill and earning enough money, Semaj was able to build the newest member of the family – a Servo! Initialized as “male” because James wasn’t allowed to not pick a gender for it. :p (To be fair, James, this isn’t just a Sims 2 thing – you have to pick for Sims 4 Servos too!) Weirdly, though, after going through all that effort to make it, James did not seem to actually want the Servo to be part of the Renrut family, acting slightly annoyed that he had to control him like any other Sim and that he was allowed full access to the house. Fortunately, the Servo has maxed out Cleaning, Cooking, and Mechanical skills, so that does make him useful enough to stick around. XD So far, his main contributions to the household have been helping Semaj run the store by doing sales stuff; keeping Semaj entertained and out of the way by hanging out with him; and doing some basic household tasks like cleaning and cooking. We’ll see if things get any more interesting with the robot by the end of the episode!

D) And Reswob turned into a super-star of a kid, getting an A+ on his report card very early on and fulfilling loads of wants so his aspiration bar is pretty much always platinum. :D James decided this kid needed to get into private school and thus called over the headmaster near the end of the chunklet – and despite issues like the spiral stairs at the front of the house glitching out (forcing James to delete them, and then have to restart the visit because deleting the stairs caused the FIRST headmaster to leave); Semaj standing around in the living room watching the big game instead of helping Iled schmooze (James likes to rag on his self Sim SO MUCH in this LP for being useless XD); the tour of the house only going half as well as James as hoped (with the Headmaster not liking the living room or toddler’s room much, but thinking Reswob’s room and the kitchen were the bomb); and Servo burning the fancy lobster thermidor James directed him to make (which James could not initially tell was burned, for some bizarre reason – dude, it was so clearly charcoal!), the Headmaster WAS sufficiently impressed by the family that he agreed to accept Reswob. So the kid’s now a private school brat, yay! :D Good work, everyone!

And yeah, that’s where I left it! Tomorrow, we wrap things up for this episode – presumably with the family getting a dog, as one WAS featured on the thumbnail. XD Looking forward to it!

2. Continue final edits on “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland” Chapter 4: Check – spent roughly forty-five minutes before my workout combing through Alice fighting Bishop Vick, Alice delivering Jennifer to the CDC, and Alice going to Strauss’s to report the end of the cult and get a magical check-up for typos and phrases that I wanted to reword and so forth. Made my fair share of tweaks and edits, and got to page 29 out of 36! :D Tomorrow, we finish off with the final seven pages, then see about getting this posted! *thumbs up*

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Substitution Check – I’d meant for this to be a full check with me tackling the Josh Way movie review along with a couple of other videos, but watching the OXBoxtra lists I wanted to catch up on took longer than I thought, so I had to leave Josh for tomorrow. *shrug* It happens! So yeah, ended up clearing these two videos out of my Watch Later instead –

A) “7 Urban Legends That Turned Out To Be True (Eventually)” – Jane, Mike, and Andy talking about those gaming urban legends that turned out to be, years later, in some way or another, true! Either via speedrunners triggering a glitch during their attempts to get through the original Final Fantasy VII quicker that did what nobody thought could be done without mods – save Aeris (her death cutscene still plays, but she remains in the party and ready for battle, at least); the developers of Street Fighter 6 deciding that it was high time the mysterious mistranslation that was “Shen Long” from Street Fighter 2 finally got to be part of the game (he’s a secret boss fight hidden away after the end of the single-player “World Tour” campaign, and a hell of a tough one too); or the modding community of Perfect Dark finding the “classic Bond” textures in Goldeneye 007 that were cut out of the final game by the creators for fear of being sued and making them usable for multiplayer (thus finally settling the question of who the worst Bond is – whichever one Mike’s in control of XD). Fun stuff – I do like it when gamers get to turn a myth into a reality one way or another!

B) “7 Shock Endings Where You Got Everyone Killed” – Jane, Mike, and Andy talking about those horrible bad endings where you can get everyone killed – even if up until then you were doing just fine in stopping everyone from dying! Of course those games that rely heavily on easily-failed quick-time events made up a good chunk of the list (two Dark Pictures Anthology games, The Devil In Me and House of Ashes, both of which feature “final stands” that can see all the characters killed if you’re not quick enough on the buttons, and Until Dawn, which offers you many, many chances to off everyone before sunrise), but we also got things like the “mindless Dark Urge murder hobo slaughters all their former companions at the end of the epilogue party” ending of Baldur’s Gate III (gotten by leaning into being Bhaal’s Chosen, then betraying Bhaal at the last minute by killing the Netherbrain, then voluntarily being imprisoned – turns out no regular cell can hold you, unfortunately) and the famous “you have to be REALLY TRYING for THIS total party kill” ending of Mass Effect 2 (mostly because you can only get the ending where everyone but Joker dies if you go in TOTALLY unprepared, do no loyalty missions, and assign the worst job to all the other characters in the final battle – and it’s hard to do all that by ACCIDENT). Basically, keep your quick-time button fingers at the ready, don’t betray gods of murder at the last second, and maybe just watch someone else’s capture of the ME2 bad ending on YouTube so you don’t have to lock yourself out of lots of game content trying to do it yourself? :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – didn’t have anything to do on Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler), but I did have two things to chuck into the queue on Valice Multiverse:

A) Another entry in the “salamander people in Secundus!Victor’s greenhouse” anon ask “thread,” with the lady salamander person trying to push Lightning away from her tub before going ahead and rubbing his face a little, then the original salamander guy coming back with the first-aid kit and rubbing a cream over her “inflamed vent” while they had a short conversation. Lighting was very pleased with the pets, while Victor got embarrassed as what he was treating looked rather intimate and turned his back to give them a touch of privacy. We’ll see how this continues tomorrow, probably!

B) And another reblog on the “Forgotten Vows!Alice meets Richard Lewis” thread with The Coven Wars, with Richard confirming the man coming over is his brother Seth, who looks dangerous but isn’t really. Alice was like “good to know” and did her best to look friendly for the newcomer. We’ll see what Seth’s like later! Hopefully nice...

Yeah, not a half bad THURSDAY, as I have to keep reminding myself. XD Hopefully it being game night tomorrow will stop me thinking that Friday is actually Saturday... As for my goals, currently thinking that I'll work on some of my Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) drafts; play some Sims 4 and continue work on the Polyheart OT3 House; finish off final edits on Chapter 4 of "Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland" and get that posted; get in a workout; and get caught back up on my Subs. These all feel achievable. *nods* Night all!
