crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

October 26th, 1985: Roughly around 12:30 A.M., Marty is woken from a sound sleep by Doc calling him. Doc tells him that he forgot his video camera and asks Marty to pick it up on his way back. Marty agrees and heads out.
Marty arrives at Twin Pines Mall at 1:16 (just missed 1:15) and sees Doc's van and his dog Einstein in the parking lot. But where's the Doc? Why, inside the van of course -- the BACK of the van. Doc drives his DeLorean out of the van in style, and we get our first good look at him. The pair greet each other, and Doc dives right into his experiment. After comparing synchronized stopwatches, Doc buckles Einstein in and uses a remote control to drive the car around the lot, eventually setting it up so that the DeLorean is driving right towards them. Marty tries to flee as the car speeds towards them, but Doc keeps him nearby. And right before it looks like they'll be hit -- the car reaches 88 miles per hour and disappears in a brilliant flash of light, leaving a pair of fire trails behind. Doc is ecstatic and explains to a baffled Marty (who thinks Doc disintergrated the car) that he built a time machine out of the DeLorean and just sent Einstein one minute into the future. Sure enough, a minute later, Einstein returns, perfectly fine (though the DeLorean is frozen) and with his stopwatch exactly one minute behind Doc's. Doc next has Marty videotape him showing how the time machine works -- how to turn the time circuits on, what readouts mean what in the display panel (going, are, were), and how to program in the dates. After putting in some famous ones, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Doc inputs November 5th, 1955. Marty asks about the significance of that date, and Doc tells him that was the date he first thought up time travel. "I remember it vividly. I was standing on my toilet hanging a clock, the porclein was wet, I slipped, hit my head on the edge of the sink, and when I came to, I had a revelation! A vision! A picture in my head! A picture of this! This is what makes time travel possible! The flux capacitor!"
Doc shows Marty the flux capacitor, then reminisces brieflyabout the 30 years that have passed since he started working on the time machine, recounting that Twin Pines Mall used to be Old Man Peabody's pine tree breeding farm. Marty, interested, asks him how the time machine runs -- Doc replies that it runs on plutonium. The time machine isn't nuclear, per se, but it does require a nuclear reaction to produce the 1.21 jigawatts of electricity needed to power the time circuits. Doc demonstrates by reloading the small nuclear reactor, after he and Marty put on radiation suits of course. After refueling, Doc announces his intention to go 25 years into the future. However, his travel plans are cut short when Einstein barks at a van coming into the parking lot. It's the Libyan terrorists Doc ripped off for the plutonium. Doc attempts to escape, but is caught and murdered. A horrified Marty is then chased in the DeLorean by the Libyans, accidentally turning on the time circuits in the process. And when the Libyans pull a rocket launcher, Marty decides to see if they can do 90. At 88, he vanishes, going back in time to November 5th, 1955. . . .
However, 10 minutes earlier, Marty arrived back in 1985 from 1955, after getting his parents together and "inventing" rock and roll. He was hoping to get to Doc and warn him about the Libyans, but unfortunately the DeLorean's starter has died again, and Marty is forced to run to LONE Pine Mall, where he witnesses Doc getting shot and his younger self traveling through time. The Libyans are blinded by the flash of the traveling DeLorean and crash into a photo booth, sending them down for the count. Marty runs to Doc and finds he's been shot. However, Doc surprises him by not being dead -- he's wearing a bulletproof vest. Turns out he taped up the letter Marty wrote for him in 1955 and read it. "I figured, what the hell."
Doc gives Marty a ride home in the DeLorean, telling him he plans to go 30 years ahead. Marty has him promise to look him up when he gets there, then says goodbye and goes back to bed. When he wakes up, though, it's to a MUCH different McFly family than he left. The house is cleaner and decorated more tastefully. Dave works in an office. Linda works at a boutique and has multiple boyfriends. George is now a self-confident published author, and Lorraine is now thin and plays tennis with George. All in all, it's a definite change for the better, though it shocks Marty to the core. Even Biff Tannen has changed, now George's car detailer rather than his supervisor. Biff, who is acting much nicer, gives George his copies of his new novel, "A Match Made in Space," and Marty his car keys. A puzzled Marty heads for the garage and discovers his dream pickup truck is his. Right on cue, Jennifer shows up. Marty is just about to kiss her when --
BOOM! Doc shows up, insisting that Marty and Jennifer have to go back to the future with him. Apparently, something's happened to their kids! Marty and Jennifer hop in, and Doc shows off a new feature on the DeLorean, FLYING them to 2015.
It's just too bad they didn't look around before leaving. Biff Tannen, searching for Marty in order to show off his new matchbooks, sees the flying DeLorean as it blasts off. This will lead to major trouble in the future. . . .
At around 9:00 P.M., the group returns to October 26th, having had to rescue Jennifer from her own future house. However, the 1985 they've returned to doesn't seem to be the correct one. Marty notices a discrepancy as they drop the unconscious Jennifer back at her house -- "I don't remember bars being on these windows." Things get worse as Doc drops Marty off before going home to destroy the DeLorean -- the fence gate is locked. Marty jumps the fence and goes in via the window -- only discover his room has become a girl's room! Turns out a new black family lives there, and the furious father chases Marty out, thinking him a prowler or worse.
Marty wanders around this new Hill Valley, discovering bloody chalk outlines and (in a cut scene) the ruined school before discovering Strickland's place. He uses Strickland's newspaper to confirm that is indeed 1985. Strickland himself appears with a shotgun and accuses Marty of stealing his newspapers. He doesn't recognize Marty, and despite Marty's begging for answers, threatens to shoot Marty's -- nuts -- off. Marty is saved by the appearance of a gang, who drive by and riddle Strickland's house with bullet holes. Strickland returns fire, and Marty flees in terror, eventually ending up in the Town Square.

-M: Whoa, wait, isn't there more?-
There is, but I knew this all bled over into the 27th, so I consulted Future Features. The 1985 timeline says that your Part II self makes it into the Town Square at midnight on October 27th, and apparently this is confirmed by the now-working clock on the Pleasure Paradise. Since I don't know all that well, I'll give the point to Keith and continue this tomorrow.
-H: Plus it lets you shorten your entry a bit.-
Heh, yeah.
Watched Part II today for my Backie infusion. :) In a slightly "Night and Day" mood because of Hell Valley now.
-VD2: Good, that means I can poke you to write in our domain.-
I'm gonna start that [livejournal.com profile] backtothefanfic story! Hell, I'll create the file right now! *creates*
-TD: Actually, isn't it our territory? It's technically PreTime.-
-E: Emmett, we have part of "Teen Doc" and "Boy Genius." We can give him this.-
-TD: True. Poke away.-
-VM: *laugh* Thanks.-
*rolls eyes* Muses. Oh well, without them I'd get no writing done. Now I must go write before I get poked to death.
-OD: How about some fanart?-
How about that jack o'lantern you promised to get the muse house?
-VD: It's called shopping around.-
Halloween's on Monday. I want a jack o'lantern by Friday.
