Jan. 20th, 2006 11:21 pmI'm getting lazy with my current ones. Stupid shiny internet.
-D: *quietly arranges for the cable to my room to be cut*-
-M: Sims, remember?-
-D: True, but she's not the type to play for hours and hours on end -- unless it's a New EP.-
Gah, don't say anything about new EPs!
-D: o.O?-
-VD: Don't tell me you're trying to resist tempation with another one?!-
*headdesk* Open For Business, available in March. This one's all about sending your Sims to work -- they can own community lots and businesses.
-M2: Actually, Vic, that doesn't exactly seem your style.-
-VD: Yes, from what we've observed of your playing style, you regard work as a quick, welcome break.-
Yeah, I was pretty lukewarm about this at first. But then --
-D: Let me guess -- just like the original Sims 2, you were taken in by videos?-
Nope. You're the culprit here.
-Docs: O.o??-
They own their own businesses.
-D: Oooooh. . . .-
-VD: Well, I doubt Sims can sell their services from their cars. What in that pack is so important to us?-
Want to make robots?
-VD: . . . Seriously?-
-TD: Robots?-
*nodnod* And toys. And all sorts of stuff, basically.
-DW: I can see why you would find that interesting. I don't think your parents will mind you purchasing another one.-
Probably not, they know of my love for the game. My problem is is that I think my computer will mind. I'm down to about a quarter free on my C: drive, and I'm leery about installing future expanasion packs to the D: drive -- that's where I installed Sims 2, and the booklets all say to not install the expansion packs in the same place you installed Sims 2.
-VD2: That would mean everyone who installed it to C would be out of luck. I think you'd be able to install it to D:, as long as you were careful.-
I know. *grumbles about the injustice of D being the larger drive*
Speaking of Sims, I played the Hill Valley McFlys today. They had a relatively good Monday -- George and Lorraine started the day with mushy stuff to get their aspirations up, while Marty played guitar, Linda slept in (working the night shift) and Dave headed to work.

Lorraine and Marty eventually followed -- as Linda was still asleep, this meant that George was basically alone.

Not that he let it get him down. He promptly threw on a Thinking Cap and studied up his cooking.

Linda eventually woke up around noon, just in time to catch her friend Marylena passing by. They greeted each other, and after a game of red hands, became best friends.

This catapulted Linda into platinum, so I dressed her and sent her to study her skills as George cleaned up.

Marty arrived home and promptly started playing his guitar. (Sims love their instruments, let me tell you.) George was impressed enough to leave a 100 simoleaon tip.

Linda had a want to meet somebody new, so I introduced her to the passing Tosha Go after she was done with her Mechanical. She and Tosha got off on the right foot, so perhaps I have another family friend in the making.

Lorraine and Dave both came home with promotions -- Lorraine's now an All-Star, Dave a President. Dave also brought home his friend Brandon Lillard for a chat.

Marty eventually did his homework and went around socializing. He shared a game of red hands with George, then listened to his brother brag about his promotion over chef's salad.

Then it was time for phone calls. Marty first called Seamus, and inexplicably talked woo-hoo with him.
-M: O.o-
-M2: I sure as hell wouldn't be discussing THAT with my ancestors!-
A later call to Doc was more tame, focusing on the subject of food.
-D: I should HOPE so!-

In between I had him excercise on the treadmill, figuring he ought to get a Body point.

He wasn't very good at it.
-Jennifers: *giggle*-
-Martys: *sulk*-
Ahh well, nothing a bubble bath couldn't fix.

Lorraine had it easier -- she's up to the point where she can do yoga, so I had her pull out the cool moves. Meanwhile, Dave was earning creativity and George Logic. *frown* I don't like how I made Dave for this neighborhood. He looks too old -- or like a Neanderthal.
-M: Well, sometimes he ACTS like one. . . .

Everyone except Linda eventually found their way to bed -- Linda headed to work. She came home with a promotion to Home Video Editor. About that time I decided it was time for the house to have some career rewards. I replaced the multi-gym with Lorraine's punching bag, set up Dave's Execuputter, and Linda's indoor garden.

So all in all, a good day for them.
Now, off to discover if I'm really missing something in my third Girl Genius collection. *is confused as to where a certain set of pages apparently vanished to*

Date: 2006-01-22 05:21 am (UTC)*snrrk* I actually like University -- sending Sims to college is easier than actual college. Do you have Nightlife as well?

Date: 2006-01-22 08:30 pm (UTC)I like University too. They live through three days, then go take their semester finals. I wish real college was like that. *sigh* I love Nightlife, but have yet to introduce any of my Sims to a vampire. But having vampire Sims sounds fun.
