A FanFic Writer's Meme

Top 10 Ways You Know You're Reading a FanFiction of Mine:
1. It's in the fandom of Back To The Future. I do write some other stuff (one 1984 story, a set of Harry Potter fics, and some "Girl Genius stuff), but I'm primarily a Backie.
2. The story is generally Doc-centric, and features Marty as well. Doc's my favorite character (I'm a sucker for Mad Scientists), and I'm a big fan of Doc/Marty friendship.
3. It's probably going to be an Angst story. I live for torturing characters, then giving them their lives back. Always put your toys back after you play with them. *gets nasty looks from the muses*
4. It's also probably going to be AU. Yes, I do like Trilogy BTTF (Trilogy gets a good number of one-shots), but I really like being able to explore the "what ifs?"
5. Doc isn't going to be normal. Well, he isn't anyway, but I mean that he's going to be changed somehow -- vampirism, lab accident, telepathy. . . .
-D: Our Trilogy self seems rather normal.-
Well, he did change into a family man. . . .
6. Each chapter starts with date, location, and time (I got this from
foxywriter). Major scene changes that don't change location get a shortened date and time.
7. Doc and Marty hugging. General Doc and Marty closeness in fact. Like I said, big fan of the friendship between them.
8. The main villian is most likely NOT going to be a Tannen. I barely use Biff at all, come to think of it. I think his largest role is in "World of Darkness."
9. Doc has siblings -- in all universes, he has an older sister named Emily. In NonTrilogy, he also has a twin brother named Jack.
10. You probably won't see a lot of time travel. I do use time travel, but not for every story. (For example, "Dark Half" has no time travel at all.)
Some interesting developments at work -- my coworker, B, was let go by the boss. As a result, I have the option of getting more hours. I'm probably going to take them (bank account could always use bulking up), but damn, I'm gonna miss my current schedule. I'm also working Saturday as most of the weekend girls are taking off for a trip to NYC. *grumble* On the plus side, I am getting a raise on top of things, even if it's just because minimum wage is going up 10 cents.
-VD: Hey, work's work. I'm sure you'll still have plenty of time for Sims and writing.-
Yeah, I know. I'm just hoping more hours doesn't mean getting up earlier. *dun wanna get up at 6:30!*
kajafoglio is evil. I've made the mistake of researching the Girl Genius Roleplaying Game Sourcebook (Powered by GURPS) -- and basically, she's saying that it's like the ultimate Secret Blueprints. *waaaaaaant*
-M: How do I know that your first act when you get that book will be to make Doc and me?-
Well, naturally. Hell, it might help with planning for "Boy Genius." *pause* You know, I've got the first chapter of that done, I should really post to the darn FanFiction group.
-TD: Yes, yes you should.-
-VD2: How went the fanfic writing today?-
Did editing on "V.D." and "Teen Doc," typed more in "BTTX-2," wrote more in "Boy Genius."
-OD: Not bad. Planning on doing more with "Goggles" soon?-
Yeah. I've also got a valentine's sketch (well, two) in mind for February. . . .
