Game is Patched
Jun. 16th, 2006 10:24 pmThe second OfB patch is out -- I patched my game without incident, but I've got a backup just in case.
-D: Good idea.-
Yeah, especially given the amount of custom stuff I've got in there. I'm mainly worried about my hacks. The clothes and furry skins seem to be okay, they showed up as normal in Create a Sim.
-VD: That's good then. Who did you play?-
-VD2: Isn't it obvious? She probably visited our Twin Oaks Park self.-
Actually, no -- to avoid any potential problems, I played Hill Valley and designed a new Sim. Everyone, meet Goldie Wilson.

-M: Oh, hey, cool.-
Yeah. I don't know how much he looks like the guy -- I searched for a few pictures of Goldie before going into the game, of course, but still. . . . And I hate the stupid afro. Problem is, mayoral!Goldie seemed to have one (at least on his poster). *plans a makeover*
Anyway, I designed him fairly quickly, then moved him onto a small plot of land and built a tiny little house. Said plot of land is next to the windmill near Eastwood Ravine -- I wasn't sure where else to put it.

Goldie had a fairly uneventful first day. He started off his Monday by reading, then had some cereal and practiced his chess moves. He also looked for a job in the paper, but there wasn't anything in Political. (Time Travel was available though -- I hope that career works all right.)

Around noon, the welcome wagon arrived -- Sally Baines, Joe Statler, and Brandi LeTourneau. I had Goldie chat up Brandi inside, leaving Sally to successfully hug and admire Joe, but unsuccessfully flirt with him. Silly Sims -- though hopefully the admire helped fix some of the damage she wrought.

Joe and Sally eventually came inside too. Goldie ended up connecting very well with Joe, while Sally spent the entire visit at the chessboard. That's a bit annoying, actually, how Sims can become so obsessed with one object. Especially that accursed toasting set -- thank God I found that hack for it.

Goldie also tried some of Brandi's dance moves -- poor guy fell down a couple of times. :p

Joe mysteriously decided to go out and kick Goldie's flamingo a few times. WTF Joe? Goldie managed to distract him with a joke though.

Joe eventually left from hunger. Goldie dismissed his female guests and set about learning to cook. Fewer fires are always a good thing.

In the meantime, he'll eat TV dinners from his toaster oven. I prefer toaster ovens to microwaves -- cheaper and makes more meals.

Joe called around 6 with a Downtown invite -- I declined, wanting to keep things simple. (Mostly, I want to see what's what with my hacks before getting into serious gameplay) Goldie moved onto practicing his Charisma for his future Political career.

After getting a Charisma point, I let him fun up at the easel.

And then, after gaining a Creativity point from that, it was off to bed. Not exactly riveting stuff, but it was his first day there. If you want exciting, I've got a new FurKin update and an outing Downtown planned for
revison_doc.
-OD: Gotten your other two Girl Genius Puppets inked, I see.-
Yeah, but Gil looks like shit. :( My favorite character, and I mess him up.
-OD: *tentacles patpat* It can't be that bad. I'm sure he'll look better once you clean him up and color him.-
I hope so. At least Borsch the Jaeger came out okay.-
-D: How goes your fanfiction endeavours?-
Wrote in a new scene for typed "Boy Genius" and wrote over my page in written "Boy Genius." I'm currently working on getting Chapter 5 of "BTTX-2" ready for posting. It should be up tomorrow.
-VD: Good. How about my "V.D." edits?-
Getting done slowly but surely. The same goes for "The Originals." I'll probably work on reediting "Congraduation" more later this month.
-DW: I suppose that's fair enough.-
-TD: As long as there's productivity involved, and not just you playing five million games of "Traps, Mines, and a Sheep."-
Nah, I'm more likely to be squeeing over fanart.
-DW: Pardon?-
Look what Moonlady did now
-OD: *tentacles squee* Oh!-
-DW: I was wondering about the increase in art bunnies. . . .-
*giggle* Isn't it great? I think she's sort of becoming my unofficial fanartist.
-TD: That's nice. I did like the drawing she did of me.-
I know, that's adorable. :D I was chatting to her on MSN -- she mentioned giving the picture of Doc and Marty in front of the amp a go (the one Jennifer takes in "15th Surprise").
-D: Which version?-
. . . Um, not sure. *blush* I'm assuming the first version.
-M: Cool. Would be nice to see how she does it.-
-M2: And how she does US.-
I know. She does good Docs, she should do an okay job on you as well. :)
Well, back to the grind. And I think I'll be putting my fan in my window.
-VM: *grin* It's gonna hit 90 on Sunday! I think we should have a barbeque.-
Sunday's Father's Day, remember?
-VuM: Can we invite Dad over then?-
Hmmm, I suppose so. *gets the boys invitations*
