This Update Brought To You By Miniclip
Jul. 14th, 2006 11:14 pmI'm getting my best score yet at the Smashing game (you bounce a ball off a paddle to destroy blocks -- it's another version of Araknoid, for those in the know) -- 19 Pads and 636800 points.
-D: *headdesk*-
I know, I know. But then you guys spent all day out by the pool, so if I have no inspiration. . . .
-VD: *twists his towel into a rattail*-
You wouldn't dare
-VD2: Just try us.-
Authorial priviledge, I can get back my axe. . . .
-TD: And we have a vast array of weaponry down in the lab.-
. . . You do?
-TD: I invited Agatha and Gil over yesterday.-
And you didn't tell me?! *sulk*
-D: We were going to, but Gil begged us not to. He's STILL recovering from the last time you pounced him.-
O.o Bruised ribs?
-OD: Exactly.-
Awww. Send him lots of chocolate.
-TD: He was more interested in your CD collection, to be honest.-
*giggle* Oooooh. Maybe I was correct in assuming he's a rock god?
-TD: . . . I wouldn't know.-
-DW: Probably best we didn't tell you he was here. I see "Gil dipped in cheese" mini-art bunnies around.-
Hey, the girls on the Yahoo Group were discussing a Men of GG calendar. I was just stating the obvious as to Gil's image.
-D: Please. I still remember when the girls tried that.-
Hey, you ENJOYED it!
-VD: Still slightly disconcerting to realize the girls liked an idea of YOURS.-
I did create them. . . .
Over in Hill Valley, I got on late (got home late -- coworker came in late, had to hit the bank and the drug store, and also stopped at Friendly's), so I decided to do a bit of building and improving on some lots. First stop, the Courthouse Square. The Essex is FINALLY the right color -- white! And it also has a few arches out front, which I noticed the last time I watched the movie.

After that, I headed over to Doc's garage to color the walls and floor. I used concrete and stucco for now -- I'm almost positive the floor's correct, but I want another look at the walls.

I also added a driveway -- it's almost completely invisible, except for an extra strip of tar on the wrong side of the sidewalk.

I stuck a white minivan there (closest thing to Doc's stepvan) and put the DeLorean next to it. Damn, I wish they'd make a driveable DMC. . . .

I also added some sculptures for temporary Doc-style clutter.

-D: That looks very -- odd.-
I know. I'm gonna start looking for Mad Scientist and cluttery-type downloads. I'm sure ModTheSims2 will have some good stuff.
After Doc's, I went to the other lot that makes up the Courthouse Square, Lou's Aerobics and The Third Eye. I added an Electrodance Sphere to Lou's, and a Robot Station to The Third Eye. The Third Eye also got curtains.

And then, I got silly. My computer may not run Sims as well as it used to, but the graphics remain quite nice. In the interest of boredom, here are random closeups!

Everyone's favorite
anonymoose_au pictures. :D I miss TOPDoc's college days. . . .

The Inside of the Minivan. Nothing too exciting, though the steering wheel is nicely detailed.

A well-used dartboard -- let's never mind that I haven't actually sent anyone down to this lot yet. (I should, though.)

The personal electronics booth. When the lot is active, that screen in the middle will be animated. :)

Magazines and Games. Aren't they colorful? And look Moose, SimCity 4!
-M: I like the magazine with the aliens.-
-M2: Yeah, you should get one for Dad.-
LoL, I should.

OMG he's naked! *cue immature giggling* Seriously, never noticed that before.

The Robot Bench. See all the plans for the robots?

The bulletin board. That color photo at the bottom is actually a snapshot from Strangetown, it's PT9 and family.

And, inside the photo booth! I didn't realize they cared enough to actually include a screen-thingy. Cool :p
Okay, back to Smashing -- just made it to level 42! At score 828300, too. :D
-TD: *rolls eyes*-
Hey, work has been done on "Boy Genius" as well. Out of all the Docs, you shouldn't be the one complaining.
-D: At least do a drabble!-
I'll see what happens.
-DW: I think we're on our own for the rest of the night.-
