crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (EEK)

-M: Should I call Lightning and Clockstopper?-
LoL, no, it's not a bad supervillian. I'm talking about a guy I found on YouTube who rants about bad Nintendo games. He's ranted about stuff like Jekyll and Hyde, Castlevania 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. . . . I have to admit, I find him quite funny. He swears a lot and drinks a lot, but -- damn, sometimes seeing a guy go apeshit over a bad video game is just amusing. :)
-D: So that's what you did instead of write?-
I completed my page on "Boy Genius" (typed) and "Past Amnesia" (written). I also looked over "BTTX-2" Chapter 8 again, and I'm currently working on "Misery Journey" -- I want to get it done already.
-VD: Looking over "V.D." too, I hope.-
Yeppers. :) I've got an idea for a partial rewrite, just not sure how to phrase it.
-M2: Hey, better than nothing!-
-DW: What about the "Mad Scientist Legacy" challenge?-
I'll do a little more work on that once I update here. I want to reread some of the rules for "Royal Kingdom" again.
-DW: Fair enough.-
-VD2: I have to ask, how did you FIND the angry Nintendo man?-
Well, I'm on YouTube, and I decide that I should really see what's new in BTTF YouTubing. So I search "back to the future," find a couple of cool music videos --
Then I see this:
ScrewAttack's Angry Nintendo Nerd -- Back To The Future

In an all out assault on Marty and Doc Brown, the Angry Nintendo Nerd makes you wonder why this game was every made... and then a sequel!

At first, I'm worried he's bashing the trilogy, but my curiosity takes over, and I watch.
See The NES Nerd For Yourself
Oh man, that game looks just as crappy as everyone has promised! Too bad we only get to see the first few levels in each game -- I had to Google BTTF NES and see what else people had to say. It does seem to be regarded as crap. (And if that screenshot I saw of NESDoc's letter to Marty in the double-movie sequel is true, they fucked up in a big way -- 1875?!)
-M: *watching* O.o I'm threatened by -- hula girls?-
-M2: And bees?-
-VM: And men with glass panes?-
-VuM: And I shoot BOWLING BALLS at people?-
-VDM: Why do I get the feeling the game designers were drinking whatever it takes to get a Jagermonster drunk. . . .-
*giggle* It's a definite possibility, yes.
-MF: Seriously, what are the other levels like?-
After Lou's Cafe is a scene at the school -- you must hide behind a textbook and block the hearts Lorraine shoots at you. Then there's the dance, where Marty has to catch notes with his guitar so he can fill the love meter and get his parents to kiss. Then there's the DeLorean level, where you drive up the street avoiding obstacles until you hit 88.
-TD: At least those last two sound like they have more to do with the movie.-
Yeah, luckily. Still, crappy-looking game!
But the Nerd's wrong. The game is good for two things -- going in a toaster (he should have done both cartridges at once, btw) and inspiring drabbles88 fic. Here's my first writer-selected prompt, to a fic that is exactly 88 words:

85. Game
“That’s the Back To The Future game?!”
“One of them, yeah. This is the original NES version. It’s almost universally reviled as one of the worst movie-based games -- one of the worst games in general, actually -- of all time. Watching this, I can see why. Poor graphics, poor gameplay, almost no real connection to the movie. . . .”
“. . . . Hey Vic?”
“Yeah?”
“Suddenly, that alien pregnancy you put the Twin Oaks Park version of me through doesn’t seem so bad. At least I named her in-character.”
“I knew you’d come around.”

-D: . . . Which one of us is that?-
I dunno, decide among yourselves.
-VD2: Whichever one of us, he has a point. Sims 2 has to be more fun than that game.-
:D Anyway, back to writing/watching the Nerd/designing the Mad Scientist Legacy.
