crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

I actually made an important "V.D." edit AND BTTF universe change today.
-VD: *surprised* Really?-
Yeah. [livejournal.com profile] bttfbabe pointed out to me in her latest round of edits that the McFly house is a little small for four bedrooms. I'd already established Dave had a bedroom, so where was Linda's?
Well, now we know. In "V.D.," it's revealed the McFlys have a basement den. I've decided that the den will double as Linda's bedroom. After all, why should poor Dave always get stuck with the lousy room assignment?
-M: Heh, poor Linda.-
Eh, it's not that bad. It's got to be well lit and stuff if it serves as a den in the day.
-J: *puzzled* But where are the stairs leading down? I didn't see any stairs in Marty's house in the movie.-
Well, here's French Marty's floorplan of the house. There's a big empty area to the left there. The stairs would go somewhere in there.
-M2: Along with the bathroom -- anyone else think this house really should have had two bathrooms?-
Really -- there's five people living there in Twin Pines, and at least four in Lone Pine, depending on whether Dave has moved out. Maybe the invisible den has one -- anyway, yes, my McFly house comes with a basement den/Linda's room.
-VuM: Good to know.-
I also made some nice progress on "Strange Bedfellows" -- found out an interesting 30s slang term for a slut, "quiff" -- and I'm keeping up nicely with my page for "The Gift and the Curse."
-OD: *looks inside* You're putting conveyor belts in the mall?-
It IS the future. Besides, they already exist at theme parks. At least, at Universal. Why not?
-DW: Well, considering the hatred of excercise in today's society, it seems logical.-
Yeah, I know. Planning on making fast food more healthy, though.
-Martys: *laughter*-
Hey, it can be done! Look at Subway!
-VM: At least have it taste better than Tekva's imaginings.-
Trust me, I will.
-OD: Kids and I having eye surgery?-
Yup -- you'll emerge a new man. Only to discover Marty's bought a hoverboard and Jennifer's gotten her hands on a Sports Almanac.
-VuM: *blink* I buy a hoverboard?-
You were going to try and convince Doc to put wheels on it for 1985 -- unfortunately, there's a kid mix-up, and Doc gets distracted by the almanac -- and later Hell Valley.
-TD: But what does he need a hoverboard for? He gets a wing harness, doesn't he?-
Yes, but he doesn't know that yet. (Hell, at this point, Doc doesn't either, and he builds the darn thing.) He was seduced by it. Plus I plan for it to be dissected anyway.
-TD: Oh, DeLorean repairs.-
Yup, coupled with what's left of the burned-out flight circuits.
-VM: *puzzled* How come you didn't do that in "World of Darkness?"-
Because I didn't think of it. I might cut the hoverboard bit in revisions -- or at least alter it so Doc's turned it into a regular skateboard for Marty.
-VD2: It's odd when you mess with our realities.-
Imagine how your storyselves feel.
-VD: But they wouldn't remember being changed.-
Hm. True. Well, you're the ones who poke me to do the editing.
-VD: Also true.-

-RPD: So, what about Sim updates?-
Well, there's a [livejournal.com profile] revison_doc update -- Marty's successfully rushed the Greek House and moved out. However, idiot me forget that you can't merge people into a Greek House, so he's currently on a little hovel lot with a phone, waiting to be called up by the holders and invited to live there.
-M: Well, as long as I end up there eventually.-
You will, trust me. And I also have a Eureka update!
-RPD: *grin* Really! That's wonderful! Mad Hill Valley?-
Narbonics, actually -- I designed Melody Toys. It's a toy store intended for takeover by a player Sim, but until there there's acutally a bit of merchandise on the shelves.

Exterior: Here we can see the whole lot. There's a big saucer fountain on one side, with benches.

Exterior: On the other side is a barbeque area, swingset, chess set, dart set, and Myshuno game. This place is supposed to be kid-family, despite being named after MELL from Narbonic.

Interior: Here we can see the toys. On the left, electronic stuff and some general older kid stuff. On the right, toddler toys and younger kid stuff. The middle shelves and some of the cubes are empty, waiting for a craftsman to stock them with toy bench toys.

Interior: And here's the workspace and employee break room, with lounges, cafeteria, and two two benches. you can also see part of the bathrooms here.
-D: Not bad. Looks very kid-friendly.-
That was the idea. I also have a flower store to set up, then the local restaurant and nightclub.
-J2: You're certainly keeping busy with this neighborhood.-
Well, it's fun! I like to build, honestly. I also have a project for Twin Oaks Park's Downtown -- a version of the Clock Tower Mall with restaurant. I plan for it to be the place Emmett pops the question to Gypsy.
-RPD: Better get building then, that's coming up soon!-
I know! Maybe this Wednesday. . . .

Okay, back to writing -- I want to try and finish up "Strange Bedfellows," and get Chapter 8 of "Boy Genius" ready for posting.
-D: Don't forget organizing the notebook.-
-OD: Or finishing up the page in "The Gift and the Curse."-
Don't worry, I won't.
