crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

I visit the HMS STFU this morning, find a link to a list on Cracked.com, and now I'm reading through practically every article they have in their movies section.
-Docs: *headdesk*-
I know! I know! I'm sorry!
-D: We really need to find out what happened to your urge to write. It seems to have evaporated.-
-TD: Either that, or remove your procrastinating tendencies. Uncle Klaus is good at brain surgery. . . .-
I'm not a Spark. He wouldn't be interested. And you don't like the sight of blood.
-M: Let's get this part out of the way -- how many BTTF references have you found?-
Quite a few:
-->8 Movie Futures Already Proven Wrong features at the end BTTF II, as the MOST ACCURATE strangely enough.
-->10 Worst Fictional Products in Pop Cultural History has as its first entry the Mr. Fusion. Before you get mad, they make a good point about nuclear fenderbenders.
-VD2: I would assume the company has safety regulations to prevent that!-
In the awesome BTTF future where the fanwriters can make stuff up, sure! In real life? *waggles hand*
-->The 7 Worst Fictional Towns in America has Hill Valley on the list.
-M2: *outraged* Hey! What the hell?-
They cite the unfixed clock tower, the Libyans attacking Doc, and Biff's teenage years as the reasons why it's bad.
-VD2: *startled* No 1985-A?-
Ruled out because of temporal adjustment. I agree that Biff was definitely in the running for sexual assault and vehiclar homicide, but whoever wrote the article? Biff doesn't work for George. He's a CAR DETAILER and doesn't have a key to the McFly house.
-->Orientation for the Time-Warped has a BTTF picture as the header, makes a few BTTF jokes, and calls Part III a flop. Okay, I know sequels are rarely as good as the originals, but FLOP?!
-VD: Deep breaths, Victoria.-
-VDM: *confused* Isn't Part III your least-favorite?-
I suppose, though it's still one of my favorite movies. And I now love the train. Steampunk for the win, people. FOR THE WIN.
-->The 7 Best 80s Movies Girlfriends is a surprise contender -- yup, Jennifer is on the list! However, the fact that she is characterized as, I quote, "A bookworm who probably considered dry-humping to be a means to an end," makes me wonder if whoever wrote that section ACTUALLY SAW THE MOVIE.
-J: *blink blink*-
-J2: Er -- how do you get that when I'm on screen for about -- I dunno -- an hour, tops? In all three movies? Counting the times I'm unconscious?-
Yeah, really! *shakes head* I dunno. Stuff like that annoys me to no end. I know we all can't be fans, but please, people, PRETEND to do your research. We BTTF fans can be as anal as any other fan when we want to be. (And vicious too.)

Not much else to say -- Mom had a nice birthday. Dad and I both got her gift cards to a favorite store, so she's getting all sorts of nice things for herself. Searching for Waterloo World on YouTube brings up the same stuff I've watched before. The Victoria is not pleased she cannot find any other silly dialogue.
-RPD: *holds up a sign reading "BUY THE GAME"*
-HD: *holds up additional sign -- "Buy Portal too, we can tell you're still hooked on that"*
. . .
*goes to look up how much a Steam account costs*
-RPD+HD: *utterly flabbergasted I'm doing what they told me to do*-
-OD: Of course, this is dependent on her computer being able to handle it all. . . .-

Steam accounts themselves are free. Just Portal on its own costs twenty bucks, fifty bucks for the Orange Box pack (Portal, Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 Episode One, Half-Life 2 Episode Two, Team Fortress 2, and Peggle Extreme). I'm going to buy the Orange Box as soon as I can get to town. ;) I figure I'm playing it enough, I might as well buy it.

Huh -- for some reason I thought there'd be a fee. Nice.

LoL, yeah, really.
