crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (feeling sparky/creative)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
First, sorry for going incommunicado yesterday. It was a rather stressful day, and I didn't really feel like talking to anyone. Let me tell you, discovering your last paycheck was a victim of insufficient funds is no way to start your Friday.
-D: Victoria, I know it's a rather laid-back job at times -- but I think it's time to quit. You put up with too much stress not to be paid.-
Yeah, those were my thoughts. I got my money back in full, luckily, but definitely looking for another job. Got an application from a nearby pharmacy, and I hear Benny's is hiring.
-VD: Too bad this means the end of writing at work.-
Yeah, but I wrote before work and school long before. I'll get used to it again. I just hope the new job isn't even more stressful. Please, please let me have competent, punctual coworkers!
-HD: You know, it's times like these I wonder why you like Marty so much.-
-WRM: Hey!-
-HD: Well, you are known for your lateness. Even when you're not the White Rabbit.-
Well, Marty's fictional and amusing to watch. It's easier to forgive him. Plus he makes more of an effort than some people I know.
-M: We try.-
Anyway, wish me luck. This whole thing is a ball of stress and no fun.

In other news, [livejournal.com profile] _coherent and Aubrey, this is all your fault.
-RPD: O.o?? What are you talking about?-
I created a Twitter account for [livejournal.com profile] clockwork_doc. I read [livejournal.com profile] _coherent's entry on what Aubrey couldn't have, that lead me to read Othar's twitter on Girl Genius, and I figured, you know, why not?
-VDM: *baffled* But he's already got a LiveJournal!-
I know, but that's mostly for RPG purposes. I figure the Twitter can be for Inkwell updates. Why, do you guys want one? You can use his, I don't think he'd mind.
-DW: No, we're happy here in the LJ. You don't have the best track record of keeping up with other blogs.-
-OD: *cough*DevART*cough* *tentacles nodnod*-
*blush* I know, I know. At least Twitter's a microblog site, so it might be easier to keep up. Just a short sentence or two every so often.
-D: I think we can officially say Clockwork is the new favorite.-
Well, I do play him a lot. He's getting Rift action right now -- finally got to meet up with Aubrey again. :) Of course, there's potential Suzie coming up. . . .
-VD2: You are unnecessarily mean to him. And I speak from experience.-
Hey! He'll recover, don't worry. This just seems to be Suzie's week for breaking people. Of course, that's what the Rift does anyway, as other players have said.
-RPM: Poor Suzie. I know she apparently goes powercrazy in her own canon, but this one seems nice.-
Yeah, I know. Someone give her hugs and coffee or something.
Rift!Doc's also gotten some interest in the Nexus -- chatting with some sort of mutant superhero, an OC who appears to be engaged to Ray from "Ghostbusters," a random OC (nothing in the bio, really), and Snake from Metal Gear Solid. It's interesting.
-TD: No Martys though?-
No, but there's apparently at least two other Docs out there, so I'm still holding out hope.
-RPM: Hey, I'm willing to give him hugs until then.-
-RPD: *hugs* You're a good kid.-
-RPM: More like I just really missed you and know how he feels.-
*ruffles his hair* You're still a good kid.

Okay, one last thing. I was poking around in Arcanum on Sims today (yay new obsession?), and I moved in the Royal Lovecraft family along with their servants to get a start on building their castle. I have the foursome interact a bit, then go to start --
And I realize I left no room for a driveway.
This is not acceptable. The royal couple needs a royal carriage. So I plop one down, then shift over the floor tiles for the tower it's overlapping. I would have shifted over the entire castle, except -- well, the towers a little more intergrated into the castle, and I'm not sure it's a bad look. So I postponed the building (though I did have to build a small wall to delete a no-good piece of custom content, grr) so I could ask your opinions. Here's a picture, with the newly intergrated tower and the three remaining, more outside towers:

The pro of intergrating is more outside space -- the con is less inside space. Whaddya think?
Also, have some random family pictures:

Walter admires Molly. Molly is SUPPOSED to be wearing a maid's cap, but for whatever reason it showed up blue and flashy. So I put her in a bonnet for the nonce.

King Hulderbrand digs for treasure. He only found a rock, unfortunately. (Incidentally, he's named for one of the characters in a favorite book of mine -- The Ordinary Princess.)

Joke time! They all get along pretty well, which is good. Aspirationally, Hulderbrand and Gloriana are Pleasure, Molly's Family, and Walter's Knowledge. Amusingly, Hulderbrand, Gloriana, and Walter all want to become Game Designers. Too bad only Hulderbrand's allowed a career, and he has to go into Politics. Molly wants six grandkids, being the odd woman out.
-RPD: Are you going to reroll their LTWs with one of your hacks?-
Probably. I like getting them to platinum.

Okay, I think I'm officially talked out. I have stuff to read and possibly play. Later!
