Do De Do Do
Oct. 10th, 2008 11:03 pm-VD2: *pokes* Shouldn't you have WordPerfect open?-
My windows got squished. I hate that.
-VD: What about your writing, though?-
I got a page on "Cinder-Marty." I'm good.
-TD: *ahem* *holds lightning gun significantly*-
Right, right, I'll reopen it in a minute.
Anyway, hooray for weekend! Looking forward to a couple of days of rest and relaxation. And hunting for bits of my Halloween costume.
-D: Have you got a specific design in mind, or are you winging it?-
Mostly the latter. Though I've got some bits and bobs I'd like to get. We'll see what the stores have.
-HD: Too bad I can't just lend you something out of Clara's wardrobe. Curse it not appear in the real world.-
There's also the small fact she's a lot taller than me.
-HD: Just pour some 'Drink Me' on it!-
You can do that with clothes?
-WRM: Sure! How do you think our clothes shrink with us?-
Interesting. But I think I'd have more fun making my own outfit.
-HD: Suit yourself. In all senses of the word.-
Hehe.
Anyway, been hanging out for the most part. Played more Alice, as is my wont. Made it through the Pale Realm, and I'm saved just before going up against the Red King. I expect to made into hamburger by him at least once, but quickloading should help me get through. Then it's the Hatter's levels!
-TD: With the spiders.-
Oh, God, yes. Haaaate. Creepy buggers who make the screen go weird the minute they bite you. Hmph. Still, I'll make it through.
Also been doing a bit of Nexusing -- Clockwork and I encountered a rather interesting question that made us think of his time in Arcadia and answered it. There's also a surprisingly cowardly giant robot with a mild speech impediment. And Count Olaf, though Doc hasn't interacted with him. Those threads are giggleworthy.
-TTV: *grin, nodnod*-
-RPD: I'm looking forward to see if anything comes of our interaction with the robot.-
Me too. The character's hilarious. :D
Speaking of characters, I've got a new Rift-person poking my brain. Recently I was introduced by devART journal entry to the music of Emilie Autumn. You can listen to a bunch of her tracks (with lyrics) here. She's got a funky, interesting sound that I quite like (especially "Marry Me.") Now I have an idea for an original, Rift-canon person played by Emilie -- a muse named Lucy Leech.
-DW: You've been listening to that one song way too often.-
I know, I know! I just thought it was amusing! Lucy's a very nice girl, grew up well, and uses her muse powers to inspire everyone she can. She's a bit indiscriminate, though. And I've got a vague idea of her telling someone about her powers, being locked up in an asylum, and -- well, if a muse doesn't create for a while, they go into a near-mindless "create inspire create" state. And that doesn't mix well with lunatics. . . .
-OD: *tentacles scold* Angst just naturally slips in to anything you write, doesn't it?-
The song she's based on IS about 19th century asylums! They weren't nice places!
-VD2: Modern ones aren't either, really.-
To be fair, YOU were in a substandard facility in a badly messed up alternate reality.
-VD2: *grumbles a little* Still wasn't fun.-
*patpat* I know.
-HD: Hmph. They do all the wrong things with madness.-
-D: Some madness isn't good, though.-
-HD: Oh, I know that. But we're all a little mad, and those type of doctors don't know how to separate the good from the bad. Killing off all the madness leaves you dreadfully dull.-
Heh, indeed.
Anyway, stuff on TV Tropes and Not Always Right to read, and I gotta do something with Boy Genius before TeenDoc fries me. Later!
