Marty and Marty2 descended on the box, happily grabbing a couple each. “I love these things,” Marty said, unwrapping one and sticking the straight end in his mouth. “Free sugar!”
“Save some for the tree!” VampDoc2 called.
TieTwisterVictor approached and picked up one curiously. “Why is it striped?”
The Martys stared. “Uh, cause they’ve – always been striped?”
TTVictor shook his head. “I’ve only ever seen plain white ones.”
“Your time period is kind of boring, isn’t it Victor?”
“HEY! . . . All right, it is, but still. . . .”

Because LJ's doing server maintenance and I want to use this window to get the ficlet up. And yes, candy canes from Victor's time WOULD have been plain white -- they didn't gain their stripes until the 1900s, according to Wikipedia.

I've almost granted one of your wishes. I started watching Corpse Bride last night on STC but Ed came home and stole the computer. :/ I only saw up to the song in the Land of the Dead, but it was pretty good. I'll watch the rest when I get a chance.
