crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

December 19:
“Santa’s going to be in the Rift?”
Clockwork shrugged at the astonished group. “Apparently. Giving out gifts to the characters.”
“Weird,” Lucy said, toying with a lock of red hair. “Though I’m kind of sorry to miss it.”
“What are you getting, Daddy?” Dee asked, grinning up at him.
“I don’t know. And frankly, I don’t really care.”
“Don’t care?” Alice said, astonished.
“It’s Santa, Doc!” Simon added. “He can give you something awesome!”
Clockwork smiled. “Victor’s been accepted, and Marty’s in the Overflow. I need nothing more.”

Yes, actual plot. Santa's coming through the Rift and distributing gifts. And it's a good thing Clockwork apparently doesn't care, because I? Have no idea what the hell to get him. The only thing he'd want in the main comm is proof Marty's okay, and how to make that translate into something material. . . .
Again, for those of you not in the know, Lucy, Dee, Alice, and Simon are all other RP characters I haven't brought in yet. Lucy is a Riftverse muse, Dee is a sentient shapeshifting version of the DeLorean, Alice is Alice Liddell from "American McGee's Alice," and Simon is the flight attendant guy from two Lemon Demon vids. (Actually, the way I figure him, he's actually a Riftverse guy, not a Wanderer. Go fig.)

So, yes, the big-ass Christmas Eve party is already underway, due to holidays meaning slowtiming. Clockwork's in attendance -- and I went ahead and stuck him in the Part III outfit, because -- well, just because.
-DW: I think your vest lust is playing up again.-
-TTV: *pulls jacket tighter around self*-
Heh. He's making the friend rounds, though I may have him tag in with other people later. See how things go.
Also, we got snowed on today! Got hit by our first major winter storm. We have quite the pile of snow out there.
-HD: What shall we do with it?-
I dunno, that's up to you. Me, I plan to hide inside and enjoy hot chocolate.
-VD2: And write, I hope.-
I'm writing right now, don't worry. More "Cinder-Marty."
-TD: Don't forget to make your backups too.-
Oooh, yeah, I'll do that Saturday.
One last note -- we DID get "A Muppet Christmas Carol" from the library. Good as I remembered from the last time I saw it (years ago). Of course, I still want to watch the Blackadder one for snarky goodness.
-VD: Wrong kind of Christmas spirit, Vic.-
Hey, I say it's good to balance out the sweetness with a little spice before it goes all glurgy. :p

I have absolutely no idea what to get Farley or Doom, so you're not alone.

As for the Rift in general, I seem to be having a combination of lack of inspiration/oncoming Riftitis (the whole "feeling slightly left out" thing)/a strange desire for a Shadow RPG/college madness. I'm getting inspiration for everything else (currently working on profiles for [livejournal.com profile] allssaidanddone), but not for the Rift. I might throw him at the party so he can kvetch a little with Doc about the lack of luck he's had with women (though he used to believe otherwise), but on the other hand...

By the way, this year's Christmas movie list is (feel free to IMDB): Better Off Dead, Trading Places, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, and the Christmas episode from a little known Brit-com called The Thin Blue Line. You are not alone in the need for snark/dark.

"Now I have a machine gun. Ho ho ho."

Yeah, apparently there's been a lot of flailing on the subject. Hmmm.

Aww, I see. That's okay, sometimes I feel that way too. It happens. *patpat*

LOL, nice list. :D And hey, I think my parents used to watch "The Thin Blue Line." Isn't Rowan Atkinson in that one too? At any rate, most Britcoms are a lot more awesome then American sitcoms.

Yep, that's the one! I used to watch it on PBS, and my dad got me the DVDs for Christmas (along with Fawlty Towers).
