I was going to stick something in here to amuse you all, but apparently I don't know the right search terms to find the cool pages on Google. So you will have to be satisfied by my random TV Tropes Wanderings leading me from "Fairy Tales" to "Room Full of Crazy." With many, many stops in between.

I'm probably lucky the RP scene is quiet, I am BEYOND distracted at this point. Also I was watching Portal vids earlier, and even the goofy ones tend to bring the creepy. :( Damn it.

Oh, in other news, apparently they're thinking about remaking Clue -- the movie, this time. What, it's not enough you screwed with the board game? Of course, now I may have to watch Clue again, just for the lulz. And maybe with random ending activated. Hmmm.

Muses are glaring at me. Ought to do something that hints of productivity.

märchen are the best. i have fond memories of baba yaga tucking me in at night in her little cottage on chicken legs and telling me happy stories about the good little boys and girls she would eat

"donkeyskin" is a good story, if dark and incesty. :/ so is the one about the handkerchief with the three drops of blood. and all the stories where witches turn girls' brothers into things and they have to keep silent for seven years or whatever, and the king marries them and the queen gets jealous and it's like oh man, torture times

also the stories of madam d'Aulnoy are nifty fairy tales made up by women for women :D

Yeah, I've read "Donkeyskin" -- creepy as heck, but good. Mom has a huge book of a lot of the Grimm Brother's tales, and I ended up reading a bunch during our trip to Florida last year. Some of them were great, some of them were just plain weird. And a few were utterly pointless. Grimm Brothers, please be sure to make sure your stories have a point!
