crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (exhausted)

-VD: *amused* Is it really appropriate to swear when referring to an etiquette site?-
It has Hell in the name, so I'm thinking yes. I finished the gentleman's section of the book (as I guessed, there was plenty of repeats from the lady's section, though a fair amount of new material as well), and decided to skip down to the courtship section, since that's the bit that intrigues me most.
It's all screwed up! Clicking on the "first steps to courtship" link brought me to preliminary etiquette for the wedding! And the next section seems to link to a different portion of the book as well! *fumes*
-MF: I don't get why this matters. It's not like Rift!Victor and Alice are going to be following those rules.-
I want a working knowledge of the damn rituals, at least. Might come in handy for fanfic.
-DW: This explains why the "Solicitor's Ward" bunnies have apparently bred themselves into a miniseries.-
*blushes* I like them. If that wasn't obvious. . . . It also might help with "Love Will Find A Way," as Victor is going to make an attempt at properly dating Alice before they start meeting on the sly.
-TTV: Goodness, dating. That's a weird thought.-
Oh, come on, you never wanted to -- right, you're shy as hell, of course you never wanted to date.
-TTV: It was less "not wanting to" and more "I couldn't talk to anyone so what was the point."-
-M: Didn't you and your parents go to any parties? Could have brushed up on your technique there.-
-TTV: Burtonsville wasn't one for many balls. And my parents never did more than have me introduced to ladies for dancing purposes. I don't think they would have approved of me courting, in fact. The arranged marriage was right up their alley, so to speak.-
-M: That sucks.-
-TTV: Well, considering I met Victoria and Emily because of it, it wasn't so bad.-
Victoria and Emily?
-TTV: Don't start -- and don't get out the sign!-
*pouts and puts away her "Threesomes Solve Everything" sign*
-D: Burtonsville seems like a very repressed town.-
-TTV: *sigh* Oh, you have no idea.-
At least they didn't make you wear gloves every minute of the day. And your father seems to get away with wearing orange, if the color-heightened trailers are to be believed.
-TTV: Yes, but he's rich. The rich can do as they like, or so I've often heard.-
Point. *patpat* Well, you live with us now, so you'll be okay.
-VD2: Exactly. Too bad about your etiquette book, though, Vic. Nothing you can do?-
Fiddle with the URLs and see what happens, I guess.

In other news, today is the one-year anniversary of [livejournal.com profile] clockwork_doc falling through a Rift and into Chicago, City of Doom.
YOU THINK I'D BE ABLE TO TAG HIM SOMEWHERE!
-RPD: What on earth is the hold up?! You SAID you wanted him and Victor at the carnival!-
I know, but for some reason I can't get up the thought power necessary to figure out where they should go! Not to mention Rift!Victor's issue in actually GETTING to the carnival. . . . I'm starting to think I really ought to fiddle around with AIM and join the occasional chat.
-TD: Still having shyness attacks?-
*grumble* You think after a year. . . .
-HD: *pouring a cup of tea from an upside-down teapot* Just jump right in and ignore the logic! You can figure that out later. You wouldn't want to miss the boat, after all.-
-VD2: And then maybe you could write something. Aren't you almost finished with "Train Troubles?"-
I can't figure out how to end the damn thing.
-VM: Is it just me, or does that happen to you a lot?-
*headdesk* I can has the dumb.
-OD: *tentacles patpat* You get an extra day off this weekend. Maybe that'll help.-
I'm hoping so.
