-VD2: Oh, we finally put up "How You Make Me Feel?"-
Yup! I've been poking at it for a while, wondering if there was anything I should change, but today I decided just to bite the bullet and go ahead already. Read It Here
-HD: *puzzled* You know, you think the last way Alice would want to feel is "normal."-
"Normal" in the sense of "you make me feel like being me is okay," not in the sense of "being like everybody else."
-HD: Oooooh. Yes, that makes more sense. Not that I generally approve of such things.-
:p I'm also sharing the current Victor/Alice playlist I've got. This is still quite incomplete, but tracking down EVERY song that reminds me of them would be a feat of Herculean effort. These songs are the ones I definitely know about. They're arranged by category, so let's dive right in:

Comedic:
“The Masochism Tango,” Tom Lehrer -- While I see Victor/Alice as far from abusive, it's hard to deny that Victor's in love with a girl known for being kind of violent. This is just a jokey take on the subject -- though for all we know, Victor COULD be a masochist.
“Love Me Dead,” Ludo -- Again, silly take on the female half of the relationship being not exactly your typical sweet girl. Plus the title takes on special significance when you realize the RPG Victor actually CAN drop dead at will. . .
“Pretty Girls,” Prozac (aka Simon and Milo) -- This song just sums up Victor's personality. Plus, whenever I picture a potential music video, I keep seeing Alice beating up things during the chorus. XD

Angstful/Not Together:
“Thinking of You,” Katy Perry -- This already titled one of my fics, about a conflicted Victor considering his problem between Victor, Emily, and Alice. The song's all about losing your "best" love and having to settle for someone else, so it basically describes any situation where Alice and Victor don't get together.
“Sally’s Song,” cover by Fiona Apple -- Yes, THAT Sally, from "Nightmare Before Christmas." The covered version I heard on YouTube as a Emily and Victoria vid, but I thought it fit a despondent Alice better. I picture her singing this to herself as she's walking back to the Van Dorts after the failed rehearsal, sure Victor doesn't feel the same way about her as she does about him.
“I Hate This Part,” The Pussycat Dolls -- Another "Victor and Alice didn't get together" song, only since this is about a BREAKUP, it's even more depressing. I picture Victor with Victoria and Alice with Reginald/Richard, realizing that not only can they not be with their real loves, they have to break it off with their current ones because it's not fair to them. Angst city.
“Girl Next Door (Rock Version),” Saving Jane -- The Alice jealousy song! Alice bitches about how Emily and Victoria are so much better than she is. Emily's the first set of verses, Victoria the second, in case you're wondering.
“Where’s the Girl?” Scarlet Pimpernel -- Everything about the lyrics to this one screams "Alice" to me, so this is Victor singing about her. Unfortunately, it's a song about missing said girl, so this has to go in the "not together" category.

Victor and The Queen:
“Snow White Queen,” Evanescence -- Oh, Victor and the Queen of Hearts is a special relationship. This song's honestly really creepy, stating that "you belong to me" and other such sentiments. It seems perfect for the Queen asserting a hold on Victor, considering him her reborn King of Hearts.
“Haunted,” Evanescence -- another creepy song for Victor and the Queen. The chorus is what really grabbed me, especially after I wrote "Similarities" -- since the Queen is part of Alice, and he DOES have the King inside his own head. . . Victor's kind of conflicted about how to deal with her. And the "saving me, raping me" bit kind of makes me think of a part in "Solicitor's Ward" where Victor has to let her unleash the King to save everyone else. . . .

Do You Love Me Too?:
“Crush,” David Archuleta -- This is Victor's wonderings. He's falling in love with Alice, he's confused about it, and he's wondering if she feels the same way. That's all there is to it.
“I Won’t Say I’m In Love,” Hercules -- Yeah, from the Disney movie. Alice's musings are more a denial of her feelings, because -- well -- Victor's supposed to be engaged to another woman. I see the Greek Chorus as the Red and White Queens of the Chesslands, bugging the hell out of her. :p

Happy and Together:
“Halo,” Beyonce -- An Alice to Victor song, talking about how he managed to slip past all her defenses. Makes me want to do something where Victor's backlit and thus actually looks like a shining angel to her.
“Love Will Find A Way,” The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride -- More Disney! I stumbled across this, and thought it made a PERFECT Alice/Victor mid-"Solicitor's Ward" duet. The circumstances aren't ideal, they're having problems -- but they're in love, and they're willing to do what it takes to stay together.
“Kiss The Girl,” cover by Ashley Tisdale -- More Disney again, AND I LIKE THE STUPID COVER! (I also like the Jonas Brothers version of "Poor Unfortunate Souls," for that matter.) But yes, this is the Victor/Alice date song. If there was ever a boy too shy to kiss his beloved, it's Victor.
“Love Story (Rock Version),” Taylor Swift -- "Love Will Find A Way" may have named the "Cinder-Marty" Victor/Alice variation, but this is their theme song. It's really weird how the song manages to follow the basic plot of the story I came up with! They meet at a ball, sneak out to the garden to see each other -- it's only in the last verse the metaphor kind of breaks down. Still.
“1, 2, 3, 4,” Plain White T’s -- Just recently heard this one, though it was a cute thing for Victor to sing to Alice.

And CRAP, I started this thing WAY too late -- gotta get to bed!
