Yup, today starts the "Twelve Pains of Christmas" The Tale Christmas Special! If you're not familiar with the Twelve Pains of Christmas, Watch This. :D Anyway, shall be begin?

The First Thing of Christmas that’s such a pain to me:

Finding a Christmas Tree
“They should have been back half an hour ago!”
Jennifer paced the floor of the little log cabin she and her companions had rented for the week. Christmas was nearly upon them, and the group had decided to settle down for a little while and celebrate it properly. (Besides which, a nasty snowstorm had come along and made traveling near-impossible for a while.)
“I’m sure it’s nothing,” Doc assured her, sitting next to Victor as they strung popcorn for decorations. “And even if it isn’t, they’re the two best fighters we have. If anything attacks them, it’s in for a nasty surprise.”
“Even still, they’re not usually late like this.”
“Hey guys, we’re back!”
“About time!” Jennifer hurried to the door, opening it wide to allow Marty, Alice, and tree inside. “You were gone a – What happened to you?!”
Marty grinned at his girlfriend, apparently unaware of the shallow cuts crisscrossing his body. “Let me put it this way – those snow golems the villagers warned us about aren’t going to be bothering anybody anymore.”

-M: Yeah, send me and Alice out against the snow golems.-
To be fair, the No-Fear version of you IS very good with his sword. And you got the tree, didn't you? Anyway, not much to say about this, besides that it's one of the shortest fics in the bunch so far. I think it gets the point across pretty effectively. Watch for the second episode tomorrow!

Also in the Christmas spirit, I have some pictures of our very untraditional Christmas tree. Mom cut it out of an oversized cardboard box this year and spray-painted it green. It's really gotta be seen to be believed:

Not too shabby, no?
-D: That actually looks very nice!
Thanks! Here's a close-up of the cardboard smiley star Mom made for it:

Yeah, very crooked, but I think that's the only way it'll balance on the tree. And, finally, a rather blurry picture of how it looks lit up in the dark:

Hopefully this'll keep all of you in good Christmas spirits. Me, I gotta go change the sheets on my bed. More of The Tale's Christmas Special tomorrow. Along with some pictures of my new minimates (the ones I haven't unboxed yet, anyway).

I like! Definite points for ingenuity. :)

And that star is adorable.

Thanks! Mom likes doing unusual Christmas trees -- dragging a real one in just wore on everybody's nerves after a while. One year we had an invisible tree -- strung the lights up in the shape of a tree and hung all the ornaments and stuff on that.

We thought so. :p
