Seriously. We had 20 INCHES OF SNOW dumped on us overnight. Just figures TODAY would be the day I get my period, huh?
-J: Low on -- uh, those?-
Yeah, though luckily I have enough to last me until tomorrow. Then I have to get up to CVS. Blargh. . . .
On a nicer note, saw Ghostbusters 2 and rather enjoyed it. :) I do think it was rather unrealistic to have the end of the first movie dismissed as some sort of publicity thing, but hey, the general plot worked for me. And it was fun seeing Egon again. :p
-D: *rolls eyes*-
What, I like the sciencey types!
-TTV: Then why on earth are you attracted to me?-
-TD: Hey, be fair, you ARE sort of the sciencey type. You're a hobby entomologist, aren't you?-
-TTV: That's not that well-established in the movie.-
*giggle* Anyway, your Christmas Fic for today:
The Eight Thing of Christmas that’s such a pain to me:

I Wanna Transformer For Christmas! (Whining Kids)
“Mommy! I want this! I want this!”
“Get me some candy! I’m hungry!”
“I have to go to the baaaathroooom!”
“Look at that lady in the weird cloak!”
Alice rolled her eyes as she wound her way through the aisles of the toy shop. It was a mess in here – everywhere you looked, there were children running around crazily, grabbing toys off the shelves and yelling at their parents. Sure, there were a few well-behaved children here and there, but for the most part it was, to put it very indelicately, a clusterfuck.
“Buy me something!”
“Make Tilly stop pulling my hair!”
“Make Natty stop kicking my shin!”
Really, it was enough to drive one mad. If Alice hadn’t been certain Victor would love the dollhouse piano she’d seen in here the other day, she would have turned tail and ran for the door. Not even the beasts of the forest had made her consider that. However, she was here to complete her Christmas shopping, so she did her best to maneuver around the crowds.
A tug on her cloak caught her attention. She looked down to see a young girl, not more than eight, staring up at her with a rather disdainful expression. “You should take better care of your clothes,” she said, pointing to the rather ragged edge on the cloak. “Mama gets mad when I rip mine.”
“My mother doesn’t care,” Alice said, trying to repress a twinge at those words.
“You’re lucky,” another child, a boy with golden curls, said.
“You’re with those other weird people, aren’t you?” the original girl continued. “The ones who have all the gold? My papa says you probably stole it all. My papa says you’re all common thieves.”
Alice felt a spike of anger. “I assure you, we are not,” she said coldly.
“Uh-huh,” the girl said, not sounding convinced. “Why’s your cloak so red? It’s weird.”
Alice smiled, letting as many of her teeth show as she could. “It’s dyed with the blood of cheeky little girls and boys.”
The girl turned pale and was off like a shot. The nearby children, overhearing, cleared her way. Alice continued on, humming a little to herself. Perhaps this wasn’t quite in the Christmas spirit – but right now, she couldn’t bring herself to care.

Oh Alice. XD
-J2: She's braving a TOY STORE at CHRISTMAS? She must really love Victor.-
*snort* Yeah, I know. This one contains the most direct reference to "No Rest For The Wicked" -- Red basically said the same thing to an inquisitive young child at one of their stops. I was looking for an opportunity to have Alice use the line, and it presented itself very nicely here.
-M2: I hope she at least got the piano.-
Oh yeah -- when Alice is determined to get something, she gets it. Anyway, just a fun, somewhat -- Blackaddery, I think -- fic to add a little spice to all this Christmas sweetness.

Oh, yeah, I owe you a chapter of the main story as well, don't I! Well then, here's Chapter 10. Hope you enjoy, I had a LOT of fun writing it! As for me, I'm off to watch one final video in an Alice Nightmare Let's Play.
