"Wizard" here being defined as a guy at CCRI who we'll be talking to about possibly getting signed up to take a course or two there.
-TD: We? We can't do your homework for you.-
LOL, no, Mom wants to take a couple too. Expand both our horizons, so to speak. I can't complain, I'm not really liking my job. Everything's broken there lately. We don't even have hot water in the bathroom.
-M: o.O That's a bitch.-
Tell me about it. Anyway, we'll be going over there late, so I may not be updating tomorrow. Just a heads up.
In other news, I've finally gotten the last two Inkwellians over into the "meet Susan and Charles post" -- Gigs, you can reassure AL that yes, Victor has shown up. ;) The right one this time, no less. In honor of the occasion, I think I'll post a little more Victor/Alice fic. Hang on while I find the right one:

21. Swing – Dance, Dance
Somehow, Alice wasn’t surprised to find Victor where he was – in front of Doc’s laptop, watching something on YouTube. Her boyfriend had become rather fond of the site recently, ever since that night he’d played karaoke with Voltaire. She poked her head over his shoulder and grinned. “You know, Vic does have this on DVD,” she commented.
Victor jumped a bit, then turned to her with a blush. “I know – I was just feeling a bit depressed, and thought I could come here to watch a few scenes,” he explained. “Just to try and lift my spirits.”
Alice nodded, then peered again at the box on the screen. “That’s the bit in the nightclub, right? The ‘Hey, Pachuco’ scene?”
“Exactly.” Victor grinned as the big band music started up. “I love this song.”
“It’s certainly uplifting,” Alice agreed, bobbing her head to the music as Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz started dancing on-screen.
Victor nodded – then, suddenly, turned to face her, looking curious. “Um – would – would you like to d-dance?”
The invitation brought Alice up short. “Pardon?”
“Would you like to dance?” Victor repeated. “I’ve watched this scene a number of times, and – well, it seems fun.”
Alice considered it. She had no idea how to dance swing – it was long after her and Victor’s time period. And considering how fast everyone moved, a misstep could mean a minor disaster. On the other hand, she’d seen the movie a few times too, and it didn’t look that difficult. It certainly couldn’t be as hard as the running and jumping she’d had to do in Wonderland. And she was always open to new experiences – especially if they involved Victor. She grinned at him. “Of course,” she said, giving him her hand. “Just don’t expect me to be an expert at it.”
Victor beamed, then reset the video and raised the volume. He led her out onto the open space that passed for the Inkwell’s dance floor, moving a few spare chairs out of the way. “You’ll be fine,” he assured her. “If we fall over, we fall over. It’s nothing I’m not used to.”
“Same here,” Alice chuckled. “Ready?”
Victor nodded. “Let’s rock this joint,” he said in time with the video.
It took them a few minutes to properly pick up the beat, but after that it wasn’t that difficult at all. Victor took the lead, spinning Alice around the dance floor as they both tried to match the steps they remembered from the movie. Alice figured Victor was doing a better job of it than her, but he never complained about her footwork. She smiled as he spun her around him. “You really need to stop calling yourself clumsy,” she informed him. “From what I see, you’re really quite graceful.”
Victor blushed again, but smiled back as he dunked her. “Only on the dance floor with you, I assure you,” he said. “You really do tend to bring out the best in me, Alice.”
“Such a sweet talker,” Alice smirked. “Isn’t this the part where you make my shoes shoot off?”
“Let’s find out,” Victor said, kissing her hard.
Her shoes didn’t actually come off, of course. But Alice wouldn’t have been surprised if they had.

-D: You know, I'm surprised you don't have this song on their playlist. You obviously enjoy the idea of them swing dancing to it.-
. . . That's a very good point, and I may correct it after I write it up here. The concept for this one came to me pretty easily -- as soon as I saw "swing," I knew I'd be doing a "Hey, Pachuco" story. It was only a hop, skip, and a jump over to this. As you can see, this is a bit of a sequel to the 30 Kisses fic Karaoke Night, where Victor secretly sang along to some Voltaire. Having him use YouTube to scare up his favorite songs seemed natural -- though maybe that's because that's what I use it for, most of the time. The idea of Victor and Alice doing the dance sequence from "The Mask" is a favorite image of mine -- I keep meaning to draw some sort of picture of them swing-dancing together. Maybe someday, if I can ever figure out the damn proportions. (And I'd like to note that this was their thing long before DisneyAlice and Reg danced to the song in "When Curiosity Met Insanity" -- I've actually had a few thoughts where Victor and Alice interrupt them, going "Hey, that's OUR thing!")
-HD: *snrrk*-
Heh, yeah. There's not much else to say about the fic itself, but the TITLE was something else again. I was tempted to name it "Hey, Pachuco," for a while, but it never quite seemed to fit. And neither did anything else. Finally, I resorted to the song Dance, Dance, because -- well, it's what they do. And the song itself is a pretty upbeat, danceable tune -- I rather like it.
-VD: You finding a Corpse Bride video set to it must have helped matters.-
Maybe a little. I really stressed out on some of the titles here, it was very annoying.

Okay then -- off to play around a little before bed.

She'd make the quip "Oh, that's why I couldn't hear him. He's so quiet when he's focused." :p Or that's why she was seeing spiderwebs in her head, whichever. ^^
