I've seen a couple of interesting pranks, though LJ seems to have slacked off this year. Shame, shame.
I haven't, though -- The Inkwellians are due for a surprise. Simon's birthday celebration will be later this evening.

In the meantime, I have a meme for y'all. I saw it on somebody's journal a few days ago, and figured, what the heck:
Post a sentence or two from some of your current works-in-progress.

#1
Alice shook her head. “One day, Rabbit, we’re going to find a way to make you slow down.”

#2
Scraggly grass and stunted trees dotted the expanse. There was no sign of civilization at all.

#3
He stared nervously at the liquid in the cup. It was bubbling slightly - whether that was a good sign or not, he couldn't tell.

#4
His heart skipped a beat. Standing not ten feet away from him was – was her.

Now, I know what some of you might be thinking. "Oh, it's April Fool's Day. She's pulling a prank. They're all probably fake."

You're almost right.

Three of the snippets I just posted are from real fics I'm working on. The fourth, I just made up. Can you guess which is the fake WIP? :D

Hmm, that's a tough one. Of the options presented, #4 seems most like it fits in something you're known to be currently working on (Solicitor's Ward). Therefore, being the least likely answer, it is probably the right one, so I guess #4.

Sorry, your first instinct was correct, except it's the wrong Victor/Alice pairing. It's actually from "Love Will Find A Way," the midquel/sequel to "Cinder-Marty" (which I will post sometime this century, damn it).

At any rate, that's one of the real ones. ^^;

No? Nuts. On a second look-through, the thing that really grabs me is the bubbling liquid in #3 - Standard Mad Science Decor notwithstanding, Doc's never really seemed to be a Chem guy to me, (hey, maybe it's Marty having his first encounter with Chester's whiskey in the "OckDoc Part III"? That would make me happy), though I suppose there were a couple bubbly liquids in Corpse Bride. Yeah, I'm pretty stumped.

Hey, speaking of April Fool's jokes, did you see this by any chance?

;)

LOL, no! Oh man, that looks fairly awesome -- makes you wish it was real. And is making me wonder who I'd have in my personal League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I mean, Doc's a shoe-in, and I'd want Alice and Victor too, but who else? Hmmm.
