Another day that makes me feel a) less inclined toward AIM chat (sorry guys), and b) very glad it's now the weekend. I need some downtime.

Been looking at more HTTYD stuffs. Still want a plush dragon, of course. I also have some confusion about the main human character's name.
-D: Well, Hiccup IS very unusual. . .-
It's not about that part. You see, Hiccup's full name is apparently Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III.
-M: Okay, so he comes from a long line of weird-named Vikings.-
That he does --
Except his father is named Stoick.
-D: *pause* It could be a holdover from the books--
I checked. His dad is Stoick in that too. And his great-grandfather was named Grumble or Grimble or something like that.
-VD2: *grasping at straws* He's named after his mother for some reason. . . .-
*snorks* No, she was apparently Vahallarama.
-TD: We have nothing. I have a desk to build.-
You do that. Anyone else have any ideas on how someone could be a third if there's no other Hiccups in the immediate family line?

Really, I don't think it would have to be immediate family - the only requirement would be two other "Hiccup Horrendous Haddock"s recorded somewhere in the family.

Granted, the only other place I can think of seeing this is the genealogies in Lord of the Rings, but there are some slight cultural similarities there, too.

Huh. Well then, I guess it would work. I'm just so used to it being in a straight line, ya know? Like Marty, Marty Jr, then Marty III. . . . Of course, these are the oddly-named Vikings we're talking about. :p
