Mall Trip = Much Less Money
May. 15th, 2010 11:47 pmI went up there with about 109 bucks, I came back with 23. ^^; Still, I got some nice purchases -- though I'm still having no luck finding the Ghostbuster minimates I want. I'm thinking maybe next weekend I'll ask if I can snag a ride up to the Newbury closer to our house. Worth a shot.
-VD: What did you get?-
Well, it turned out to be a rather Alicey-day:

At Newbury, I caved and got the White Rabbit plush. He's one of Alice's closest friends too, why not? Growf and Errol briefly thought he was snack-worthy, but Alice Dolly set them straight quickly.

From Borders, I got the Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland Visual Guide. It's a simple but fairly interesting read -- gives some background on the characters and whatnot. There was another book that was more thorough -- but it was $50 dollars. Wasn't quite ready to spend that.
-HD: If they're going to charge $50, they should give you a tea service with your book.-
*snork* Yeah, tell me about it.

From Hot Topic, I snagged "Almost Alice" -- it's a compilation of Alice-related songs by various artists. I've heard and liked a couple on YouTube, so I figured it was worth the 13 bucks. (I saw it in Newbury, but it was 16 there.)

In non-Alice related merchandise, I got these next two from Newbury -- this is the graphic novel version of "Pride & Prejudice & Zombies." I started flipping through it before paying for Rabbit, and I couldn't help but go back and get it. One of these days, when I've finally worked my way through more of my Discworld, I'm gonna get some of this guy's other books. He's got Abraham Lincoln killing vampires now. XD

And finally, a pin that made me laugh when I saw it. Because if you know me, you know just how much I HATE these creepy-crawlies. Eugh.
-TTV: *looking slightly hurt* What about Black Widow?-
She's cartoony enough to get past my initial squick reaction, but don't ever let her crawl on me. I'll freak.
-TTV: She won't hurt you.-
I'll still freak! The idea of anything crawling on me squicks me out! Hell, I panic sometimes when butterflies come flying at my face!
-TTV: . . . You're -- you're FRIGHTENED of BUTTERFLIES?-
. . . A little, yeah.
-TTV: *lips pressed tight, obviously trying not to smile*-
Oh go ahead and laugh before you burst!
-TTV: *SNICKERSNORTSNICKER*-
-.- I had to get an amateur entomologist in my head. . . .
