I Is Sticky
Jul. 8th, 2010 10:58 pmAnd thus not really in the mood for updating. Damn it, humidity, go down already.
One thing of note, however -- Telltale Games is doing a survey to get some potential player opinions on the BTTF game they're making. I provided mine dutifully. Though I realized how hard it is for me to really pick one favorite moment in the trilogy. XD And one of their concepts gave me pause. Let me put it this way:
When did Lucy Childs become part of BTTF canon?
-D: Say WHAT?-
One of their scenarios involved 1938, you, and a gold-digging girlfriend.
-D: . . .-
I KNOW. Granted, it wasn't THAT similar to "Teen Doc," but it still weirded me out. I said as much in the comments. We'll see what they make of it.

Date: 2010-07-09 03:09 am (UTC)I THOUGHT it sounded kinda fanctictiony, though I admit I've never read Teen Doc. It's on ff.net? I hope they don't blatantly copy off you. D:

Date: 2010-07-09 03:16 am (UTC)Right here! (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2704354/1/Teen_Doc) And no, it's definitely not a full-on copy, just a few shared elements that made me blink. The one that worried me was the 1968 scenario -- although Marty interacting with heavily-pregnant Lorraine sounds interesting, the "collect objects scattered throughout the timestream" bit sounds too much like those awful NES games.

Date: 2010-07-09 05:07 am (UTC)the gold-digging girlfriend one strikes me as misogynist.

Date: 2010-07-09 05:48 pm (UTC)And while time travel is fun, I at least hope they keep Doc worried about the timeline. Because we all know how he was in the cartoon. lmao
One of the scenarios I had SO much trouble with: If there's a temporal preservation society, Doc would probably have something to do with it. Tannens are NOT detective material! And Doc would FLIP if he had two different time period Martys running around together because he said it's too risky! lol

Date: 2010-07-09 07:08 pm (UTC)LOL, I know. Let's make the game a different animal, kthx Telltale.
Now, it's funny, but I actually sort of like the Temporal Preservation Society idea. Maybe if they could rework it so it's something to do with future Doc and get rid of the Tannen. . . (Of course, that could be nostalgia for an old message board BTTF RPG I played in back in the old days. *points at RolePlayDoc* That's where he came from. It was all about secret organizations involving time travel, so. . . .)

Date: 2010-07-09 08:58 pm (UTC)I hope this game is good, but hey. It can't be any worse than the NES game, and while I liked the Universal Studios minigame, it will definitely be better than THAT. xD

Date: 2010-07-09 09:26 pm (UTC)That's exactly what I'm thinking -- the NES games were the PITS. I've seen playthroughs of them both, and -- wow. Telltale apparently made a decent Wallace and Gromit game, so I'm being cautiously optimistic.

Date: 2010-07-10 02:43 am (UTC)My brother also thought of this: Jules or Verne as the detective! (!!!)
He also says that TellTale should DEFINITELY be up to the game. He's pretty optimistic as well, and I trust him when it comes to games, so let's hope!

Date: 2010-07-10 03:03 am (UTC)Oooh, now that would be an interesting twist! I could get behind that.
Nice to have another positive opinion. :) Keep your fingers crossed!
