Laptop!!

Yes, I happen to be writing this from my brand new Samsung Notebook! We went up to Best Buy today, and after some browsing, and talking to one of the employees, I decided this was the best choice for me. I'm still getting used to it -- screen's smaller than I'm used to, and the keyboard feels strange. Oh, and the touchpad mouse is WEIRD. But so far it seems to be working out. I'm just glad to have internet access -- apparently the wireless works for this thing.

So yeah, I'm poking around, figuring things out, getting the battery charged, all of that. I'll see about getting all my stuff really set up (and getting some pictures) tomorrow. Hope you're all well, sorry I'm not around to chat or tag at the moment.

Oh, and I got the good 2-disc copy of Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs today too at Newbury. Score. :D

Since I HATE touchpads, I find a wireless mouse a godsend. :) Even a wired one will do in a pinch.

Touchpads are strange indeed, and my buttons are kind of sensitive. It looks like I could get a case and a more regular mouse together in a deal, so maybe I'll do that.

I agree with Gigs, I have trouble with touch pads too and I can't be arsed to change the batteries in a wireless mouse, so I just use a wired oned (helps I've got like four USB ports).

Anywho! What does it look like? Is it heavy? Inquiring minds! :OD

I've got a couple of pictures of the new setup forthcoming -- it's black with a slightly mirrored surface. And it's not particularly heavy -- 5.25 lbs.

Hooray for laptops!

Mine has a touchpad, but I don't use it. It's way too hard to do stuff. I've got one of those little red dot things in the middle of my keyboard and I use that mouse instead - even for gaming. It works really, really fantastically well.

LOL, nobody likes the touchpad. As I've said above, apparently I can get a more normal mouse with a case, so. . . . Don't have one of those dot things.

When my old laptop started dying, I refused to replace it with one that didn't have the button mouse because I've gotten so used to it. I don't really have room on my desk for a traditional mouse when it comes to gaming, so oh well. :P

Nick just got a new computer and you should see his mouse. It cost him ninety dollars, it's a gaming mouse, and it has a frigging 14-button keypad where his thumb goes. And it glows.

Whoops, my bad. It's not fourteen, it's only twelve (http://www.digitpedia.com/razor-naga-mouse-mmo/5344/). It has fourteen total though, so that's probably what I was remembering.
