Well, there was one thing I wanted to do that should still be good -- if anybody wants to play with any of my characters, you can just comment here with who you want to chat with and a setting (if you care about such things).

"Oh -- you're welcome, then," Victor says, smiling. "It really wasn't a big deal -- not to us." He briefly considers joking about how Emily doesn't even have any flesh on her arm and nobody makes a big deal out of that, but decides against it -- he doesn't want Erik to take it the wrong way.

"It is 'a big deal' to me," says Erik. "I spent a great many years being feared and loathed by everyone. To find someone who isn't Lisa and isn't a sentient animal who will accept me for who I am means a great deal to me." He's referring to the unicorns, et. al. on Alnilam.

Victor isn't quite sure what to say. He feels sympathetic to Erik's situation -- he's just not sure how to put it into words. "I'm -- sure it does," he finally says. "I'm glad you feel comfortable around us. We do our best not to discriminate."
