One More Day

. . .And now I automatically think of the Spider-Man travesty whenever I see that phrase. Thanks, Marvel.
Anyway, spent most of the day (well, the part of the day where I wasn't in school) doing the Doc, Clark, Marty, and Dee thread. Dee's mostly fixed up, though part of her flight system is still broken. We'll see what we can do about that later. Notifs still not working right. *sigh*
-D: They have to fix them eventually.-
I sure hope so. I'm glad I only have the two threads to worry about.
Anyway, I made a decision on which 25 Foods to share with you all. This one's short and sweet, making it perfect for these late-ish updates. :)
1. Strawberries
Although Alice had always preferred salty foods to sweet, she had also always liked the taste of strawberries. The fruit was just the right blend of sweet and tart, in her opinion. And it was always so much fun to gather them. One of her favorite childhood memories was picking strawberries with her parents one warm June day, everyone talking and laughing and getting their fingers and faces all sticky. Strawberries reminded her of the good days, the pleasant, happy, untroubled times.
Which was why she was so delighted when Victor discovered the bowl full of them in the icebox of their honeymoon cottage. After they’d eaten their light supper of cucumber soup, they whipped up some cream (a more complicated process than they’d initially thought – it took a couple of tries to get it really right), piled it into the bowl of strawberries, and took it all into the sitting room to watch the sunset.
And sitting there, eating strawberries and cream with her new husband and watching Wonderland’s sky fill with brilliant color, Alice felt happier than she’d ever felt in her life.
-Jennifers: Awwwww-
-M: Being mushy with them again, huh?-
For some reason they gravitate towards mush. You wouldn't think that possible with an American McGee's Alice, but. . . .
Notes Time: This is "Solicitor's Ward"-verse, and takes place on Victor and Alice's honeymoon -- technically during that "wedding night" fic I wrote up. (What, they need to eat before they get to the sex!) I don't know why I decided to have them eat strawberries and cream -- the dessert must have just been on my mind. Made it very easy to adapt to this prompt, though. I figured Alice might like strawberries because they're not sweet-sweet. "I don't really like sweets," remember?
-TTV: Ah yes, but "Madness Returns" says she has quite the fondness for cake.-
I know -- it's a sound clip that gets collected in the gameplay demo vids. Which is it, McGee? Does she like sugar or not?
-TD: "Sweets" can also mean candy. Maybe it's that in specific she doesn't like?-
"Drink Me" isn't candy -- though, it DOES contain a lolipoppy. . . . I don't know. Wonderland logic.
Not much else to say -- as Marty says, this one's all about a little mush. Of course, this one's set before some "bow-chicka-bow-wow. . . ."
-TTV: Please don't remind me.-
Okay, I should go check up on Lucy's thread with Taiki. See you all tomorrow!
