Alice & Sims

Some more thoughts on Alice as I played today:
-->I actually saw this yesterday, but Alice does still have idle animations! She'll stretch, yawn, and rock on her heels.
-->Bolterflies are still evil, but a lot easier when you IMMEDIATELY focus on taking out the hives. I'm slowly getting used to targeting mode.
-->They really, REALLY ought to have made it so that you can use the umbrella WITHOUT being in focused mode. I don't like playing in that mode because you're constantly getting savaged by other enemies while you're trying to focus on one.
-->Game remains gorgeous -- I love looking at all the different environs and suchlike. I'm also finally starting to get used to the jumps.
-->I completed Dormy's section of the Hatter's Domain today. Creepy-ass wind-up bastard. You know how hard it is to jump over lava while eyepots are shooting tea bombs at you?
-->Also, MOVING PLATFORM JUMPING PUZZLE AAARRRGGGHHH (I eventually got it, but GEEZ. And this is on EASY.)
-->I again reiterate that a lot of my problem is probably my getting used to the controls. Also the fact that I hit the wrong keys a lot. Maybe Dad's right and I should look into a controller. . . .
Also, I promised you guys an update on EVL, didn't? Here, let me share the highlights of his first semester of Senior year at La Fiesta Tech:

EVL casts his first successful Beautificus Locus to get rid of a late night rainstorm! Unfortunately, the rain came back the minute it wore off. My game. . . .

EVL gets back to the soil and plants some tomatoes. Hooray for gardening!

ANOTHER damn mascot fight leaves EVL cowering in the kitchen. He's trying to study, you two!

When the cheerleader comes over, I decide to put these annoyances to work and have her do some light housework. I was hoping she'd pick up some of the books these guys leave all over the place, but nope, bed-making came first.

And then chess. *facepalm* At least EVL got a new friend out of the deal.

In the arcane world, EVL decided to try his hand at a bit of item crafting. Result?

Behold, the Faerie Fire Floor Lamp! Tis pretty!

He's currently using it to light up his vegetables for when he has to tend to them at night. The tomatoes are doing well -- last check had them at a solid Healthy.

More mascot slavery is attempted when this guy comes back over -- although I don't think he'll get too far with the sink being busted.

EVL puts his growing mechanical skill to work.

And then, after picking up ONE book, the bastard snaps out of it to do his little cheer. I HATE YOU.

On the plus side, EVL makes a successful Sentrybot! He's a good little sim.

The last day of the semester meant visiting a community lot to check up on EVL's grades. This is the Cactus Cafe, which is honestly rather drab.

Perhaps some spicy tacos will make things better.

I've been trying to get EVL a few more male friends (he has exactly one at the moment), but he never seems to have decent conversations with guys. And then everyone shoved off for class, so I sent him on home.

Magic! He's slowly but surely increasing his skills. Benemoodus Simae doesn't fail nearly as often as it used to.

MASCOT HAAAAATE. This cow made it her mission to make EVL's life miserable both before and after his final (which he aced again). GOD, I hate these Sims.

Perhaps having a vampire as his new best friend will help. Yeah, he and Countess Edith are close now. *wonders if she should try to infect this family with as many Sim mutations as possible*
And that's that! I'll be busy with Alice for a while now, so don't hold your breath for the next update. (But as I'll keep up my running commentary on Alice, you'll have something to entertain you in the gaming world.)
