crossover_chick: Alice in Hysteria mode firing her Pepper Grinder (AMA: SO MUCH RAGE)

The laptop shut itself off again! I really don't know why -- is the video card getting too hot or something? Maybe I should try turning everything that's on off, see what happens. . . . Anyway, what happened this time:

-->The last autosave was indeed before the jumping puzzles of "one goes up, one goes down" -- I headed back along there, gathered up my goodies, and upgraded my Vorpal Blade to Level IV.
-->Got back to the chess puzzle -- this one was pretty easy, but I suspect future ones will be a lot harder.
-->Got further into the castle, found myself a pig snout and a memory. I think I might get all the pig snouts this time around.
-->Fought my first armored card guard! They're a bit tough, if only because you have to nail them in the back. But I got 'em eventually.
-->More running from the executioner, more wandering around the depths of the castle, more memory getting. . . . A Radcliffe memory has me rather concerned. He's talking about the funeral for the Liddells, and mentions that Lizzie could have had her casket open -- the fire never even got to her. I'm starting to wonder if Lizzie was murdered, and the fire started to cover things up.
-->Fall down a hole, find some more memories, and -- WTF, is that Raz from "Psychonauts" in this room?? Seriously, looks just like him. O.o
-->And more jumping puzzles to solve! One in particular was brutal, as I just wasn't getting enough height to get up to a keyhole door. Made it eventually, though.
-->Kept going around, collecting sundries, fighting a few bad guys. Found a lever on an outcropping, which opened the way both to the exit and to a Radula Room! I also spotted a bottle way back at the beginning. Not going through the whole room again just for that -- I'll have to remember it for a replay.
-->Radula Rooms! I don't know if I mentioned the first one -- it was an easily solved math puzzle. This one was another "Kill or Be Killed" room, featuring Samurai and Archer Wasps, with Eyepots for flavoring. Liberal use of the Teapot Cannon got them all sorted. Also, interesting factoid -- miss a Radula Room, and the game doesn't reset you. I started out this level with 3/4's of a painted rose, so the first one gave me a bit more health.
-->Made my way to the exit, wandered about, found myself in a courtyard with the Executioner and lots of different Card Guards. My strategy -- take out the easy ones with the Hobby Horse first, then run and jump in circles until I could find my way to taking out the armored ones.
-->Finally killed all the killable Guards. The Executioner opened up a hole beneath us and dropped us into a new area.
-->New area is -- eewww, pink and slimy and you can see bits of moving tentacle. There's another bottle to be gained, along with a pressure pad switch to shoot.
-->More jumping around, round we go and -- we have Ruin! PINK Ruin. This is disturbing and just a tiny bit hilarious.
-->Take care of the Ruin, see a memory waiting around for us --
Aaand that's where Chester shut off again. I should be back at the beginning of pink tentacles when I go back.

Dunno if I'm gonna do any more later or just take the rest of the night off. Stupid laptop. . . .
