crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)

October 26th, the day some good stuff actually happens! Yes, Doc is shot by Libyan terrorists, but he survives thanks to Marty’s intervention, and we discover the McFly family is no longer dysfunctional! Hooray, things are happy!
Of course, it all goes down the drain as soon as Doc shows up again and drags our teenage lovebirds to the future. By the time they get back, George is dead, Lorraine is in an abusive marriage to Biff, and Hill Valley is basically hell on earth. Because we just can’t have nice things.
-M: You’re telling me.-
LOL, yeah. I watched Part II today in honor of this block, and seeing Hell Valley – particularly, Strickland’s scene – got me to wondering – what happened to Edna in that version of the world? That place is really her personal, particular hell, isn’t it? If she’s not dead, I bet she’s holed up in her apartment trying to avoid the outside world.
-M2: Maybe she trains attack cats.-
Wouldn’t put it past her.
Speaking of watching Part II – oh man. Watching it on the HD TV, on the new Blu-Ray player. . .I’ve never seen a picture that gorgeous. I noticed a bunch of new stuff:
-->In general, you could see all the textures on the wood and metal and especially clothing. Really amazing
-->I always thought the Telltale people were kind of lazy for keeping Jennifer’s eyes green when they tweaked the Trixie Trotter model for her in the Game. However, watching Shue!Jennifer’s eyes at the very beginning – they actually DO have a bit of a greenish tint. The rest of the time, they do look brown, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Jennifer’s actual eye color is hazel.
-->Biff and Marty have changeable eyes, too – blue that looks grey in certain lights.
-->The reflections in windows and such are incredibly clear – to the point where I’m pretty sure I saw the cameraman in the window behind Biff when he’s watching the hoverboard chase and comments that it’s familiar. XD
-->In the novelization, Strickland is described as having a livid knife scar on his face. I thought this was something that got changed between script and screen – but he DOES have a scar! I just never saw it properly before.
-->Similarly, Biff’s jacket at the dance after he gets punched has blood on it.
-->Biff’s garage has starfish in it – tacked up above the door. No idea why.
So yeah, that was pretty awesome. Now I gotta get myself some actual Blu-Rays and start seeing some of the special features I’ve been missing out on. (I’m looking at you, Enchanted and Tangled.)

In other news, Dee's birthday post is up for viewing. Fortunately Firefox has all my passwords for my LJ accounts saved, so switching between them isn't quite as much of a pain as it could be. But I still wish LJ hadn't done whatever they did to break LJ Login. Or at least given us more warning. Ugh. Bastards.

All right, I have tags, fic, and other stuff to get through -- I'll see all of you later.
