Odds & Ends
Feb. 10th, 2012 11:57 pm-->My LJ RP may be flagging, but Tumblr RP is booming. Forgotten Vows and his Alice have just wrapped the "unpleasant Bumby revelations" plot, as we'll call it, and are starting on a Valentine's Day plot. Also, Alice is chatting with my little-used subblog asktheliddellvandorts. Chester, Lucy, Vincent & Lorina are going to get an unpleasant surprise in just a bit.
-->Played a little Sims today -- Doc in Ink Sec's college. Nothing particularly exciting -- just him getting his grade bar maxed and doing various bits of skilling, badge-earning, and reagent-making.
-->In related news, rereading my Sims guides can be dangerous. I now want to send somebody on a vacation, or get a business opened, or. . . Gotta remember EVL and Felicia really need some more cash in the bank before they can do any of that. Though maybe I can get EVL started on a Servo, now that we have the magical awesome chair. . . .
-->I can't stop myself from watching Kitchen Nightmares clips on YouTube. Some of these restaurant owners are baffling to me. It's like they want their places to go under.
-->Amusing "Reading Lord of the Rings" anecdote: I recently finished the 3rd "book" of the series (each volume is divided into two books, so I'm halfway through The Two Towers), and the other day I was reading the chapter about Helm's Deep. And I came upon this sentence:
"Aragorn and Legolas went now with Eomer in the van."
Now, I know it's not what Tolkien meant (talking about in class, I learned he probably meant "vanguard," aka in the front), but the first image that came to mind was Aragorn, Legolas, Eomer, and Gimli (since he's riding with Eomer) driving down the battlefield in a van, while all around them the Riders of Rohan are going, "WTF, when did they get a car?!"

Date: 2012-02-11 07:40 am (UTC)Few know of the later adventures of the splintered Fellowship, of how they turned their attentions to Sauron's malevolent allies, the demonic and perverse Tainted Coil and the dark and unearthly Drowning Doom. To that end, they sought out the leader of the human rebellion, Eddie Riggs, and his followers, hoping to form another alliance with his
bandarmy, Ironheade. Seeing in Elessar a kindred spirit, Eddie taught him at length of the Titans' gifts to humanity and of his own adventures through time, and the Fellowship soon came to understand the immutable power of METAL...Recently watched playthrough for BrĂ¼tal Legend, and when you mentioned "car", my mind went straight to the Summon Deuce spell (Eddie uses his guitar to summon the Deuce, a car you use to get around.) It was one small jump from there to an image of the three riding around with Through the Fire and Flames playing at full blast.

"Sorry, bro! But Moving Right Along is such an appropriate song for car trips!"
"Just keep it down a bit! We've got to do important stuff that's vital to the plot!"
"Awww, you're no fun...."
