Ankle, Sims, and Drabbles88 Updates
May. 15th, 2012 11:27 pm1. My ankle's doing better -- it's already easier to walk and move it. It does have some swelling, though, which is annoying. I've been trying to keep it up and not walk too much still. And I've got some ice on the swelling. Hopefully I'll be better sooner rather than later.
2. We have an
ink_sec_sims update: Emmett Brown -- has a rather boring day. It's tough when your Sims live alone. I gotta get Carmen into the family. Also a Servo. Also Dee. I need to do lots.
3. Might as well have another Drabbles88, am I right? This one's short and -- maybe not sweet. You'll see:
6. Hours
He’d never let on just how scared he’d really been.
He’d never tell anyone that putting his foot on the bathysphere’s air hose had been an act born of desperation – out of not being able to think of anything else, no matter how hard he tried.
He’d never say that he was astonished he’d been able to keep up his poker face – to keep being sarcastic at Citizen Brown even as he saw how the guy was starting to suffer.
He’d never describe how every second he’d had his foot on that hose had felt like hours.
And he’d really never say that, if Citizen Brown hadn’t cracked when he had –
Marty would have.
-M: Oh, more Games-verse, huh?-
Yup -- I realized I hadn't really written anything for the last episode and decided to correct that. This was inspired by me seeing somewhere (I don't remember where) somebody calling Marty a crappy friend because of various things he does in the Game, including this particular puzzle. (I would say it also inspired my last Games-verse Drabbles88 fic, "Clock.") Now, I don't agree with this at all, but I thought that the "cutting off the air supply" puzzle might be worth a lot. Marty certainly is all sarcastic and cold on the outside -- but on the inside, how is he feeling?
-M2: I'd say this is about right, because -- yeah, risking Doc suffocating? Couldn't do it.-
Yeah. I always figured Marty probably feels really bad about doing this, as he did about a lot of his more "jerkass" actions in the game. And if he really thought he was going to kill his best friend, he wouldn't have done it.
-VM: Still pretty damn dangerous.-
I know, but he was also running out of options.
-VD2: Yeah -- can't blame the poor kid. I know he wouldn't have let anything really happen to that younger me.-
Indeed. The game even says so in the hints. I gotta replay it at some point -- at least the later episodes. And Alice too. We'll see how the summer goes.
Okay, now I've got to figure out how to best keep the ice on my foot. Later!
