Family Trees!

Just made one for the Liddell family -- which is rather small and full of dead people. Fun! I also have one for the Van Dorts -- I've probably shared it here before, but here is it again, just because:


Alice's tree is very simple, since I'm going off the idea her parents are both only children. (If she'd had uncles or cousins, I think she would have gone to stay with them instead of Bumby.) I came up with the deaths of her grandparents on the fly -- I think she only knew the two who died of old age, and then only briefly. Of course, her parents and Lizzie suffered much more tragic deaths. . .

And here's the Van Dort family tree, which is a touch more complex. Don't be fooled by some of the positioning -- Peter was William's older brother, while Elaine is Nell's younger sister. Nell doesn't like to associate with her "lower-class" family, so Victor's never met his mother's side of the tree. Which is kind of a shame, since Elaine is more sensible and personable than her older sister.


Much nicer out today than yesterday, hooray. I went for a walk and got myself a Cake Batter ice cream shake. Yum.
-TTV: Cake Batter? I thought you would have gone with chocolate?-
Well, I like cake batter ice cream. Nice and sugary. And it has chocolate swirls in it, which is nice. Still think I like the Malted Milk Ball shake I can get at our other local ice cream place best, though. Nom.
Writing also continues to go pretty well, all things considered. Another interesting prompt at charloft: Story Structure for Secundus. And I've gotten a couple more fics written for the 14 Sins & Virtues table. Paired "Faith" with the WALL*E verse (which means that pair's done), and "Charity" with the Nightmare House verse. Still working on the others. But hey, it's a fun little table, and helps get some of these weird transplant universes out of my head.
Still, I should work on "Finding You" -- I really want to get at least the first couple of chapters up before I go back to school. So yeah, I'll go do that for now. Later!

Victor's never met his mother's side of the tree

Does he know enough about them to try to seek them out? Or does he just assume they're like Nell and doesn't bother?

And am I remembering a fic of yours where he does meet a relative or did I dream that? O_o

Edit: I have this sudden urge to reread Secundus now, lol.

Not really -- Nell barely talks about them. She sends the occasional letter their way, but Victor's never seen the address. And there's a little bit of "well, if they spawned my mother. . ." in there too, yes.
