Bus Adventures

crossover_chickI took something OTHER than the 66 today! *gasp* Mom wanted me to come over for a housesitting shift, but Dad was at work, and I don't drive (yet -- the drivers around here make me nervous, but I don't think I can get around any more relying simply on the bus and bumming rides), so we had to figure out something with the buses. Fortunately there's one that passes right by the neighborhood her patient lives in -- the 14. So I caught that today. Unfortunately, I was only able to stay for a hour and a half, because if I didn't catch the 3:08 going back, I would have had to stay until 5:00. So it's not really a very practical system. It did give Mom a short break, though, and gave me a pretty good walk getting to the appropriate bus stop and back. And it only cost me one ride of my remaining three on my 15-ride pass -- I was able to use a transfer for the ride home. Yay.
The rest of the day was quiet -- I had the house to myself, so yeah. Had a nice lunch, wrote some more on Chapter 21 -- I've basically finished the actual Rutledge section, now it's just time to wrap up Hyde Park and meeting the child -- and yes, did a little thinking on Pern Crash. Because it's fun, that's why. :P Also did some tagging and all that. Which is actually what I'm in the middle of (as well as chatting to a friend), so if you'll excuse me. . .
