11:49pm: Right OK, it's late and I have to drop my car off tomorrow for it's yearly service, so as always this will be a short entry.

Today was work, I haven't actually worked this close to Christmas Day in quite some time and the amount of items returned was really something! It took my whole morning shift (one hour) to clear the chute and when I came by a few hours later it was full again!

Fortunately, the library itself wasn't too busy, but the Mall was bustling, I went out to look for Ferrero Roches for my little bro, I did find them, but I want to do some price comparing before I buy them.

I'm not looking too forward to tomorrow as I'll be on the desk for three hours, booo. I guess that's what happens when most people go on leave.

On the plus side at least the air conditioning at the library was working again, it didn't yesterday, which resulted in the temperature inside the library being 28 degrees. Which must have suuuucked for all involved. I'm not sure why our air conditioning system sucks, it seems to work fine for other shops in the mall.

And not I must run because otherwise I won't have enough time to do my Duolingo!

10:57pm:For real, because I have to get up at like 6:30am to get to the Archery field by 7am to help with the setting up for the Barebow Competition.

So why am I updating, well, I'm rather annoyed because I actually posted an update yesterday, or at least I thought I did, but it didn't go through! How rude is that? I did the Friday meme and everything! Now I don't have time :O(

Anywho, the heatwave has well and truly hit us here, on Friday I had a half day at work and fortunately the air conditioning was working in the library - sometimes it's touch and go - but just walking across the car park I thought I was going to melt!

The reason for having the morning off is because I had my psychiatrist appointment, which I was slightly late for despite giving myself a whole hour to get there. Anywho, the appointment went well, but because I had to park my car quickly I didn't have time to put up the windshield shade and when I got back to my car I could hardly hold the steering wheel for the first few minutes because the plastic was that hot.

It was a good thing I had my car, because there was the after work Christmas party, which meant I could drive there. It was also nicely air conditioned in there. I was a bit surprised to find a general lack of Christmas hats, I wore my springy Santa hat though, which was quite a hit, if I do say so myself.

The heat continued into today - with the "added" bonus of it being humid as Hell...it was nasty! But I got through the archery shoot this morning - although not with a PB, which is a bit of a boo hiss.

It's also set to be hot tomorrow, but hopefully not as humid...

Righto, I gotta haul, wish me luck at the competition tomorrow. The best news is, there's a barbeque lunch tomorrow afterwards, yummy!

11:26pm: Bah, I really must do something about that, but I tend to get a second wind - which I think I mentioned in a previous entry and don't realise it's as late as it is.

Anyway, I don't really have a reason to make this update, since nothing exciting happened today - although my parents are back from Fiji so I'm over here at the parental abode for the first time in a few weeks. Mum and my favourite shows are mostly not on, but fortunately Hard Quiz was on and hilarious as always.

So yes, I should head to bed because I do have to get up earlier than usual so I can drive back to my apartment before heading off to work - lucky for me I don't have to do the opening shift tomorrow because a colleague asked me to swap a shift with her and is doing it instead.

And I played my Bigwallet save today, that was fun! Although Jackie Bigwallet still hasn't completed her aspiration yet, so I need to get onto that. Next on the agenda for her though is her birthday party, she's becoming an adult.

OK, better wrap this up, like I said I gotta get to bed - according to my Fitbit stats I'm not even getting 7 hours, which I'm sure will come and bite me on the butt at some point.

11:36pm: I think I've mentioned this before, but ever since the Orange Thing came back I've pretty much stopped watching the news because whenever he shows up I have an urge to throw my TV out the window.

So long story short, I had absolutely no idea a terrible mass shooting had occurred here in Sydney until I saw a message from my friend this morning! Although I did see a video of a brave man taking on one of the shooters on Reddit before I went to bed last night, but I think my brain failed to comprehend it was shotgun he was holding so it didn't click.

But yes, a very grim day in Australia, we haven't had a mass shooting since 1996 - almost 30 years ago now, when we had one of the worst ever and immediately amended our gun laws to prevent something like that ever happening again. Which it had until now.

Even more unfortunate is the fact it was a targeted anti-Semitic attack on a Hanakkuh festival, which is seriously messed up. However, the man who bravely disarmed one of the shooters is a Muslim man, so one hopes that will prevent any anti-Muslim backlash, but you can never tell with bigots. Seriously though, I'm in awe of that man, his name is Ahmed, and he risked his life to save others and was shot in the process, but is thankfully going to make a full recovery.

But yes, everyone's rather rattled by the event, even at work - we've decided we might need to do an active shooter drill in case one ever happens, but let's hope not. Fingers crossed the Government will tighten the gun laws, the shooters in question had access to six shotguns (or maybe it was rifles?) which seems really unnecessary, especially considering they live in Sydney.

Now there was also the unofficial Christmas Afternoon Tea at work - which featured some home-made goodies, but I think I'll say more next entry because it seems a tone deaf at this time.

Thoughts for all those affected, sadly fifteen people died in the shooting. May their memory be a blessing.

11:14pm: I didn't get to play any Sims 4 today, alas because I discovered that all the DLC for House Flipper 1 was hugely on sale and, well I couldn't turn down that bargain (even though I'm kinda short of money - I had to transfer some out of my redraw). So I spent this evening playing that. I finally got the lawn mower! This is huge because most of the houses in that game have absolutely shockingly overgrown yards, and until now I've been unable to do anything about it. LOL.

I definitely need to play Sims 4 tomorrow I'm getting sooo close to the end of the Eggplant gen, not that I'm not enjoying Aubergine and all her capers. She and Flap Dip (from Dr Gluon's game) are engage to be married now, so that's gonna be fun. Also I do want to get back to the alternate Bigwallets.

In other news, I had to basically spend my whole day checking the packing slips against the invoices, I finally came to the conclusion that a bunch of packing slips must have disappeared at some point because all the items I didn't cross off from the invoice were in our system. Luckily, there was no huge magazine delivery or anything so I didn't put off a whole bunch of other work to do this. Funnily enough I did think I had the last desk shift of the day, but it turns out I can't read LOL.

Speaking of work, it's my half day tomorrow so I better get myself to bed. Note to self - bring gym gear along to work tomorrow so I can go to gym.

1. Did you get an allowance as a kid, and if so, how much was it?

I didn't actually! On the other hand we also didn't have to do a bunch of chores and to be honest I'm relieved by that. I didn't start making money until I took up a pamphlet delivery route. Good times.

2. How old were you when you had your first job, and what was it?

I believe I started delivery pamphlets when I was around 14? It was just around the local area and not too terrible, except for the time I had to deliver political pamphlets for a racist political party. I made up for this by volunteering for the exact opposite party at the election.

3. Which do you do better: save money or spend money?

Hmm...I like to think I'm pretty good at saving, although I've had to move money around a few times this year, whoops. But I'm not in debt or anything (outside the mortgage) so I guess I'll say saving.

4. Are people more likely to borrow money from you, or are you more likely to borrow from them?

People are probably more likely to borrow from me :OP It generally doesn't occur to me to borrow money from others.

5. What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought?

My apartment! I dropped half a million dollars on this place O.o Thank goodness I had my parents to help me out!

11:14pm: Yes, I just noticed the sound of falling raindrops. Huh, I wasn't expecting rain today, but then I don't watch the news as much as I used to because of the possibility of the Orange Thing showing up, so it was probably forecasted and I just missed it.

Anywho, moving along not much to report, except that we still can't send up new vendors yet, which is rather annoying. Fortunately, all the magazines that are coming from that particular vendor don't start until January so there's still time. But not much...time flies this time of year! For example I've realised that I've kind of left it too late to invite people for trivia since next Tuesday is pretty much the last day for it and that's still awfully close to Christmas. But I should still ask because you never know!

What I do know is that I'm failing to get to bed at a decent hour...not to mention my lack of apartment cleaning, shakes head. Man, this place is a total mess...if someone broke in to rob the place they'd probably run right out again XD.

In other news, Mum and Dad leave for Fiji tomorrow and Dad dropped by the library today to pick up a backpack that I had to pick up on Mum's behalf. This was pretty fun as one of my colleagues was once taught by Dad, and she was pretty sure he wouldn't remember her, but Dad remembers pretty much every student (I swear, it's a talent that's certainly skipped me) and I also showed him the office, which included my very messy work desk. Heh, he was not surprised. :OP

OK, it's coming up on 11:30pm so I better haul!
