Yes, today my family actually CELEBRATED my birthday, since we didn't really have a chance to on the day itself. It was off to Dave and Buster's for lunch and merriment -- although the place being so crowded means that we didn't actually go on a whole lot of games. But we played a round of Mario Kart and Seawolf, and tried out some of the new games (Wheel of Fortune is a gyp and I'll never even look at it again). Lunch was decent, although our waitress was a bit of a bitch about having to bring Mom Equal for her coffee. I had potato-chip-crusted chicken -- yes, this is a thing. And it's actually not that bad -- the chicken was cooked well, and the crust was nice and crunchy. Washed down with a milkshake, it made a decent birthday lunch. After that, we ended up going to Target and seeing if there was anything I wanted to buy in a physical Barnes & Noble (answer: no), largely because the traffic was HORRENDOUS leaving the mall and we wanted to give the highways a chance to clear. Then it was home for pastrami sandwiches and a Friendly's Celebration Roll for cake (which was very tasty, and not all that horrible calorie-wise, yay). So all in all, a good day -- just kind of exhausting, as most of my days "on the road" tend to be.

Additional notes:
-->I started "Dragonsong" on the ride up there, since I figured it was about freaking time I read a Pern book. I'm enjoying it so far, but -- McCaffrey does have a tendency to switch POVs without much of a break in-between. I dunno if that's really her fault or just the way the book is set up, though. It's a decent read, and that's the main thing. Hooray, fire lizards. :D

-->I said I would, and so I did: have the first chapter of my old fic "Boy Genius" I'll be uploading those fairly regularly, with any luck, while I work on Chapter 24 of "Forgetting You." After that will come "There's Always Tomorrow."

-->I believe I complained back in October about how the "Alice: Madness Returns" Storybook App is no longer available to play on Facebook? And how annoyed I was because I'd probably never play it again, since I didn't own an iOS device?
Well, someone realized what the hell her iPad Mini is today! :D I just downloaded and went through it. It played beautifully -- I got the Cheshire Cat to smile by smiling at him, and got to see all sorts of little effects that the Facebook version had to leave out. Hooray for getting to play my favorite creepy interactive storybook! That's my birthday present to myself today. :P

And now, while I'm not actually doing any RPing, I should make an effort to catch up on my various tumblr dashboards so I don't have to power through five million entries tomorrow. Night all!
