Not Quite As Nice

Definitely more of a chill in the air, and the morning was really really cloudy. But it got sunny in the afternoon, and it ended up being warm enough for me to take a walk, so that was nice. :)
Typical Sunday, for the most part. I did some goofing off, as is my right on my days off, and played a lot of DragonVale. I should be at the point of getting the Gemstone Habitat when I turn in my eggs. :) I also hatched my Spring dragon -- came with the name Tropic, but I renamed it Imbolc after what Gigs originally got for her Spring dragon. It's a Pagan festival that welcomes in Spring -- I liked the name and decided I wanted to use it. Tropic's better for a Summer dragon in my opinion anyway.
I can also present this as proof of productivity today: the epilogue of "There's Always Tomorrow!" As promised. And now, at last, IT IS COMPLETE. Another story checked off the list! :D I've already started working on "In The Land of the Dead." Eager to get back to Victor/Alice before the feels overwhelm me.
As it is right now, though, I have a danger of replies to stuff overwhelming me. G'night all, and sleep tight!

Date: 2014-04-14 03:11 am (UTC)Firstly, YAY STORY!! They really are my favorite of your universes. Don't know why, they just are. Although...um, how can Doc and Clara be, like, intimate with the tentacles always around? Rosie you established can leave her if need be, but Doc's kind of stuck, isn't he? Yeah I may have no sex drive and the act itself repulses me but that doesn't stop me from being curious. On the same note, I did spot two typos in the previous chapter. I can mark them for sure when I get on the computer tomorrow at work, but if you want to dig there's a line about the tentacles putting "the card down" instead of car - I think it's when they get back to the garage. The other is one of the mentions of 1986 looks like the 1 is an I or an l. Edit: Here:
The tentacles set the card down as gently as they could
Good luck – you should have seen the mansion in l955. (wrong year, my bad...)
Secondly...the mandatory DV update:
Rooty had won a Silver, threw Helen into Fire. Helen won a Gold, threw Fang into Earth.
My Lunar Eclipse came with the name Athena. One more to add to the spreadsheet. I maxed her level but...well, call me shallow but I just don't like the look of the adult (it's kind of sad watching her try to fly) so she was my first dragon for the Fountain of Youth. It takes 12 hours so she'll be finished growing down by morning.
The Lapis should hatch tomorrow, so I'll be coming back with an update for the name there. Edit: Came with my Flower's name of Jabber, so I changed it to Pablo for the Picasso references in the description. I wanted to name it after the Scepter from the Unicorns of Balinor book series because they specifically mention it being made of Lapis Lazuli but the thing doesn't have a name and I'm not too sure of a dragon being named "Scepter".
Other than that, I've been trying to collect eggs and profit breed. I should save for the Seventh Island but I kind of just wind up using the money for treats. I found out that while Plant + Light = Meadow or Luminous, Meadow + Luminous also = Meadow or Luminous. I was doing Moss + Wind but that combo could result in Rainbows and Double Rainbows and I do NOT want to be stuck for 48 to 60 hours. Plus the Air/Cold Island is the next I need to take pictures of and if my Wind is occupied she won't be in the picture, heh. I was gonna do that today but today had other plans, so maybe tomorrow I'll take temporary shots from my phone and do a write up and then replace the shots with better ones from the tablet later.
Also I can't remember if I ever mentioned that my Swamp dragon came with the name Petal.
I think that's about it. Oh, and have Doc tell Tommy that I liked his "Marvel-ous" pun. :)

Date: 2014-04-14 04:25 pm (UTC)I'm glad you liked it! And the tentacles do have what is essentially a "hibernate" mode -- they don't want to be present for "the act" any more than Doc does. It does make things rather awkward, and this Doc and Clara probably aren't as intimate as the more normal versions, but it can be done.
I've fixed the typos -- hate those that manage to slip past my eyes so easily like that! Though that 1955 one was a tricky one -- I had put a lower-case L there, and it almost exactly matches the 1. Weird.
Puddle got me a Silver in the Colosseum, and Raths is doing the Metal event.
Mine hasn't hatched yet -- but I agree, they do look rather awkward as adults, don't they? *shrug* I'll probably de-age mine at some point after she hatches and grows up, but I'll wait until I have the proper funds and suchlike. Pablo's a good name for the Lapis, though I might go with something more Egyptian to match the other references in the description. :P
I've got my Seventh Island, and I will be clearing it VERY GRADUALLY as time goes on. Reason? You can get two eggs from each obstacle cleared -- but up to a max of 10, according to the wiki. So I cleared five bushes today -- and started the process for the boulder piles, but those take four days, so. . . Basically trying to max egg production here. I've got the Gemstone habitat, so now it's time to snag some Ovalith dragons! Good luck with your profit breeding and picture taking!
Aww, cute. :)
*snork* I will. XD

Date: 2014-04-14 05:17 pm (UTC)Ah, I see. That makes sense.
I want that Seventh Island but I don't think I'll be able to build up over 100mil DC to get and clear it before the event is over, so I'll just stick to making treats with the money until the event is over, then I'll save up and get it. I've gotten almost everyone to 11. I didn't realize unti I hit level 31 that feeding dragons will give xp.
I also bred a Palladium for my Earth/Metal Island.
That write-up is up in my journal if you haven't seen it yet. :) I'm almost to the Gemstone Habitat at this is only, what, day four of the event? Maybe I'll get lucky just doing what I'm doing and get at least most of the rewards. *shrug* We'll see.

Date: 2014-04-14 09:53 pm (UTC)Indeed.
You never know -- it becomes a lot easier to make money once you've got some epic dragons and fill up their habitats. Treats are good, though. Eggs and food! And LOL, yeah, it's not something you really notice right away, is it? I'm almost at Level 32 myself.
Nice! :) I've been working on the Sandstorm and Snowy Olympus dragons -- no dice on either one yet, though. :(
Just saw it! *nodnod* You can find a price list of everything on the Wiki -- you need 4,000 eggs total to get every reward. I believe the prices go:
80 (Egg of Burcadia)
160 (Ovalith Pedestal)
160 (Gemstone Habitat)
800 (Ovalith Dragon)
800 (Ovalith Dragon 2)
2,000 (Lost Island)
So yeah, that means you've gathered about 400 eggs so far.
