Good Friday Indeed
Apr. 18th, 2014 10:24 pmIt can't help but be good once you get to come home early. :) Yeah, the teacher let us go whenever we finished our filing, and I finished mine in time to catch an earlier bus to Kennedy, which allowed me to catch an earlier bus home. :D It was a 66, aka the long way around, but it still got me home a hour early! Ahh, sweet freedom. . .
I also finished The Science of Discworld 2: The Globe, which was lovely and funny. Rincewind is seriously obsessed with potatoes and I love him for it. :D Honestly, I love all of them -- while I'm exceeding fond of Same Vimes and Moist Von Lipwig and Granny Weatherwax (who got a cameo in this book) and all the rest, the wizards are definitely my favorite cast hands-down. The way they all bounce off each other is hilarious, and the times when they buckle down and get to business -- full of awesome moments. I'm already looking forward to the third one -- and I may indulge myself this weekend by buying Unseen Academicals over B&N.com. It's the next one in the main series for me to read anyway, and I'm reluctant to leave the wizards so soon. We'll see. (I need something to distract me from just browsing the Discworld section on TV Tropes, at any rate, as this evening proved.)
Third good thing of the day -- Double Egg Weekend in DragonVale! Hopefully this will score me the first Ovalith dragon sooner rather than later. I also remain a bit of a god when it comes to getting rare dragons this April -- I scored, in a row, the Sandstorm and the Terradiem. Latter has hatched -- I was gonna name it Marty, but then it came with the name Orville, and I couldn't because that was too cute -- former is still being made. Now I just need one of my Olympus dragons to pan out. Come on, my Victory dragon needs a friend, darn it.
And now I should get back to keeping an eye on tumblr, in case of tags. G'night all!

Date: 2014-04-19 07:54 pm (UTC)Still failing at the Terradiem. I even paired my Fog (and used all those treats I made to level it to 15) and Sandstorm to double my chances and I'm just getting double the fails right now, but at least the fails sell well.
I'm also maybe about 3/4 of the way to the first Ovalith Dragon. Again, I don't quite foresee me getting past that reward, but you know what? I'm okay with that. If I manage to get more, then yay but if I don't that's okay, too.

Date: 2014-04-19 09:28 pm (UTC)*patpat* Ah well. Hooray for decent-selling fails, at the least.
I've actually got enough for my first Ovalith dragon when I turn in the eggs this evening -- the counter's doing the glowy thing. Again, I'm pretty sure I can get both Ovaliths, and I wouldn't be surprised if you managed it too despite everything. I was poking around the wiki earlier, and someone says they e-mailed Backflip and got confirmation that you've got to buy eggs if you want the Lost Island. meh.
However, there seems to be a silver lining, in that that same person says that Backflip ALSO said they would convert leftover eggs into gems at the end of the event -- 5 eggs = 1 gem. So even if we can't get the island without paying, it's in our best interest to collect as many eggs as possible anyway! (Assuming all this is true, of course, but I'm hoping it is. Free gems would be a nice "consolation prize" of sorts.)
