Holy Crap Is It Hot
Jun. 18th, 2014 06:22 pmWhen I came home today, it read 90 on the bank's time/temperature sign. I'm not sure I totally believe that -- if only because it's usually cooler down here than in Providence, and the temps I saw up there said it was in the 80s -- but high 80s? Yeah, definitely. I am so glad I changed my mind about wearing pants this morning! My skirt was definitely a necessity today. Still, it was nicer out than expected -- the original forecast was for rain! Instead it's just been partly-to-mostly cloudy, with that clearing up as the day goes on. Yes, summer, I will take you. :)
Scary moment waiting at the bus stop today -- I ducked to avoid a bug and dropped my iPad Mini! I was horrified for a moment -- but strangely enough, except for some dings on the corners on one side, it seems to be all right. The screen's not even cracked. I think what saved it was a short fall and the fact that I have it in a soft case, which probably took the brunt of the impact. Still, gotta be more careful with the poor thing in the future!
Still failing at everything with DragonVale, sadly -- darn it, I want my Pearl, Kite, and Solstice! At least I'm making metric tons of cash now. In Hearthstone, won one and lost one with my Shaman deck -- though the loss was one I can greatly respect. Got annihilated by a Murloc deck. And the win was also satisfying, with me taking advantage of my ability to windfury minions to destroy a Mage who had me on the ropes. Ahhh.
Also, just talked to my parents -- they're gonna be coming home Friday morning instead of afternoon. Reason? Dad somehow managed to snap the chain on his bike, and now they've gotta get that fixed for their anniversary trip (coincides with your birthday, Gigs). They can rent a bike for tomorrow, though, so I have one more day of having the house all to myself. Can't complain -- though I was gonna try and do the vacuuming before they got home. . .eh, if they're out having the bike looked at when I get home Friday maybe I'll do it anyway.
Right now, I need a shower, and then it's onto taking care of tags. Later all!

Date: 2014-06-19 12:42 pm (UTC)My parents' wedding anniversary is...or would be...well, still is I guess even though Dad's gone...actually two days before my birthday. Mom told me how long they would've been married but I forgot. My brother is 43 so at least that long. My sister will be 42 in October. I'll be 31 on the 30th. Have I ever mentioned that I was the "oops"? :p
So Manfred won a Gold and I put Frostbite into Cold. That win gave me the push I needed to get to 37.
The Bronze came with the name Volsung and he's happily hanging out with Skeeter and Aureus.
I wish I'd get the Bearded and the Solstice because I only need one each in Air, Cold, Plant and Water to complete those. Kairos helped to speed up the fails. We need the luck we had in April, lol.
That's it for now. DC: 185,370,692; G: 451.
Edit: Bearded get!! :D

Date: 2014-06-20 12:50 pm (UTC)Awww, I see. *patpat* And LOL -- yeah, I can see that you must have been a surprise. XD Alice/Lizzie age gap there. Funny bit of trivia for you -- my birthday, December 27th, is also the date of my parents' first date.
Carroll also got me a Gold, and I've got Kringle in Cold. Congrats on reaching Level 37.
Volsung? LOL, they do like their interesting Norse names. :P And congrats on scoring the Bearded! The DragonVale gods have finally decided to cut me a break, and I'll be adding a Solstice to the family soon enough. :D I'll finally be able to get my other Sun out of storage!
